  • Have you watched the film Forks Over Knives? If not you should check it out, it's very informative I watched that along with Fat Sick and Nearly Dead recently.

    I've watched both of them. I'm now on day 19 of my juice fast after watching FS&ND and watching Forks Over Knives further strengthened my resolve to follow a healthier, vegetable, more active lifestyle.

  • I was just wondering how you "came off" the juice fast. I've heard that its important to begin introducing solid foods slowly once one's fast is over. Was that the case for you? Also, I'm going to begin my own fast in a week or so, and I'm getting quite nervous about whether or not I have the will power to not give up at some point. What was the most difficult part (or time) of your fast?

  • @CumulusSkies That's great you're committed to your health! I came off my juice fast by eating fruit the first day and continuing to juice and then just more fruit, juice and small salads for a while. When I was on my fast and my stomach was growling I drank warm lemon water with a little less than an 1/8 of a teaspoon of cayenne pepper, its stopped my hunger pangs within minutes. I think you body type is a Endomorph you can't eat fruit and vegetable only you need meat like skinless chicken don't cook it with oil and brown rice and you need exercise. I was just like you and and i just trying to help you

  • @gettinghops Actually, you do not need those things unless you are increasing your weight training and exercise. For what he was doing the raw fruits and vegetables are everything the body needs and no it was not water weight. People who have done juice fasts have lost 50, 60 sometimes 100lbs, water weight? Sorry that is a myth.

  • I hate that I keep bugging u. But I am not losing any weight :( I dont know if my body is in starvation mode or what but what do I do!?

  • @savchaz10609 How much are you drinking? It could just be a plateau and nothing to worry about - But check how much fruit you are adding (fruit is high in sugar). Sometimes it can help to have an extra juice or two to shock the body a bit - Basically mixing up the routine. Although I lost weight every day of my 56 day juice fast some days were really really low in terms of weight loss and others higher - So look at your weight loss over a longer period and see if it's going down maybe.

    Make sure you get enough sugar in the fast! Too little sugar and your body will use gluconeogenesis to make sure-from muscle and protein! Bad news :)

  • @sjagain I have worked full time online since 2008. I guess I should not tell you I am off again on another holiday on dec 4th (a cruise this time) lol - No the proceeds of the videos are not paying for the holiday! (I wish). ha ha

  • cont: do you think I could still keep off the weight by eating pretty good after the fast and exercises? Basically making sure to burn off as many calories as I put in? If that statement is true, then I'll go to the gym and make sure I do so.

  • @savchaz10609 I would make eating the #1 priority and some regular exercise would help - Put it this way, it's a heck of a lot easier to maintain your weight than to lose it because to lose weight you have to build a deficit from energy inputted (food) va energy expended (exercise, etc) - Maintaining it gives you more of a buffer :)

  • Hey! I'm on day 11 and doing pretty well. I'm scared too death of gaining the weight back though, and I wonder if you're just keeping it off bc you are living a very strict life style eating wise. And I don't think I'll be able to do that. I still want to eat meat and after the juice fast go out maybe once a month to eat with my fiancé and not worry about what I'm eating. Since I used to eat out all the time and really unhealthy, and never used to exercise, do you think I could still keep off t

  • @savchaz10609 A few things here - Firstly the feelings for those types of foods can often pass over time, but with that said if you decide you want to eat them that is cool - Most likely meat was not the cause of weight gain and indulging now and again would likely be fine - It's the things you do every day that cause the weight gain and not the odd treat now and again - You have turned the corner so congratulations to you!

  • @avalover5498 Yes I am sticking to a new life after after being overweight for so long - I gained some weight whilst on holidays but it's already on the way down again!

  • @hipsociety ha ha, yeah I tend to "go crazy" with anything I do (even overeating in the past!). I will be doing more videos you can be sure of that, and I actually love doing them, just needed a decent break and some R&R.

  • Wow! It's great to see your latest video. I didn't find your videos until like two months after you finished your juice fast. I'm on day 39 of your juice fast videos. I like to watch them every morning. It's great to see you after your juice fast and see that you're still adhering to a healthy lifestyle.

    BTW - Is it summer in Australia? If I ever get a chance to visit Australia I'd like to visit the juice bars that you mentioned. (I think it's called Boost.) And also see koala bears..

  • @transitionalphase Wow day 39 way yo go! Yes I am still doing well, I gained some weight whilst on holiday but about one third of it has already come off which is fantastic. Australia is a great place to visit we had a friend from texas stay with us recently and took her to see koala's and kangaroos :)

  • No I was not sunburned, just an early start and lighting was a bit off - Since shooting this video about 8 days ago my weight is up about 4Kgs (about 8.8 pounds!!) - More on that tomorrow including my new plan to get down to my goal weight of 78Kgs (171 pounds).
