@wayfechylde3 I'm sure fulltone will work well for you. I got the stock TR-2 first because it was cheaper, knowing that I could get it modified later and bring it to a "boutique" level box. I did it that way to break up the expense.
@CodyCEngdahl good deal! im just not a huge boss fan.... but price is no object (to an extent) thanks to a tradition i like to call "the Christmas pedal" ;)
people say that keeley electronics have great customer support, but they have never responded to any of emails. I bought the same product months ago and mine had a problem with the pedal's led. the mod done isn't really that impressive IMO. wish boss can come up with a better trem or simply just reissue the PN 2
are you sure it is true-bypass? I ask you because usually the true-bypass mod needs a new, different footswitch added to the box (like in the Ibanez AD9 mod for example).
@CodyCEngdahl thanks for answering, that info isn't so clear even on the keeley's website. they don't talk about true-bypass in the TR-2 page, so I think it hasn't.
in the other cases, like AD9, they specifically explain that the mod includes true-bypass.
@44eelz Great question. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to listen them side-by-side. They say that because of the upgraded circuitry there's a true bypass and no more tone drop. I think that's true. The sound should be exactly the same as if you plugged directly into the amp, just oscillating.
@AlexSongDoesCovers No, but that's an interesting concept. I don't know why they would unless they have a bunch ready to go so they just get one in and send one out with out having to immediately work on it.
hey man, thanks again for uploading the video. about whether it sounds better plugged straight into the amp or using the trem, one thing that might affect the sound are actually the cables. a lot of low quality cables might suck your tone, or having more than one cable or even a long cable that isn't the greatest quality might affect your tone. so some good cables might be a good investment if you want the best tone possible. have fun with the keeley mod!
@nickmyers1213 Excellent point, and to be honest, the jumper from the pedal to the amp is an old caple some dude gave me when I but a bass stack from him. So there's not telling what the quality is.
I love effects pedals. Gotta have trem if you want to play '50s R&R. Dobie Gray's Drift Away comes to mind too.

@waterpig84 Sorry to hear that. I had a pretty good experience with them in all. I'm thinking about sending my DS-1 to them someday.
CodyCEngdahl 8 months ago
@waterpig84 Keeley has excellent customer service. On their website, under contacts, it says to just call them (better than email).

other than the volume addition, does the effect sound any different from before?
