One thing that does bother me about this family is thier diet, I know they eat some fruits and veggies but that is an area they really shouldn't scrimp on. They could be under contract with TLC to do these types of shows to promote their show I don't know. J&K used to do them too and I remember some months ago they did Oprah via Satalite and apparently it was very early and Oprah asked Kate how she managed to get kids up and dressed and not fussing so early and she said bribery, they each had a sucker sticking out of their mouths. The Duggers have said their not normally early risers so 8AM may be really early to them.
By the way I'm sure they do this for the money as well as probably think it's some kind of relgious calling but the point is, even if they didn't have the show they could support their kids, they did it before and they will do it after. You may be too young to understand this concept. Liz Murray, I just looked her up, she went back to Harvard and has a degree in psychology but does a lot of public speaking in high schools and other places.
I'm the same age as 1 of the Duggar girls, 19. I understand what you're saying. But that is neither the case with the Duggars. They did not watch Michelle slave in the kitchen or clean up after them. They were told to do it and got use to it, programmed to watch, clean and care for their sibs. To not have outside friends other then the Bates. What the Dugs kids are doing, they parents did not do growing up and you know it Nancy. did you see the other video I was telling you about?

Their house is hardly a mansion, it's 2 kits they put together, it totals about 7000 SF, they were trying to build it debt free and it took 3 years while they were all crammed into a normal sized house, the kids have dormatories instead of bedrooms, after 3 yrs it was still far from done then TLC came along and finished it, furnished it and even decorated it for them. I doubt they would have been able to film in a crammed in house.

Have you gone to that video I put up? Look like they are ruining the kids health in not letting them get any sleep. 2. Which is how they first got discovered. Living in a small box in home. TLC couldn't have approached them at a better time in their lives. They needed ever every cent of the money offered. It's a TV clip. Things get edited out all the time. No one was there to see what really happened between shots. We only see what the TV shows us. That includes the assumption that Josh didn't offer to help put things away. We can't automatically assume things about their family. The producer said to M&J in the green room its just like what we talked about on the phone, same questions and nothing has been changed. One thing that does bother me about this family is thier diet, I know they eat some fruits and veggies but that is an area they really shouldn't scrimp on. One of thier meals on a budget is tater tot casserole which has to be real starchy and the other thing is the soda pop machine in thier kitchen, carb drinks all the time is not healthy but then none of them have weight problems or look undernurished so maybe its not an issue.

We are all brainwashed by our parents to an extent. Most of us have parents that want us to adopt their Religion, ethics, work habits, whatever. Most religious people want their kids to believe as they do, I guess that would be a form of brainwashing but it's certainly not child abuse. Anna does sound like Michelle (and her own mother) but maybe she'll need a hysterectomy after the next kid who knows but by their belief that would be Gods will I guess.

They could be under contract with TLC to do these types of shows to promote their show I don't know. J&K used to do them too and I remember some months ago they did Oprah via Satalite and apparently it was very early and Oprah asked Kate how she managed to get kids up and dressed and not fussing so early and she said bribery, they each had a sucker sticking out of their mouths. The Duggers have said their not normally early risers so 8AM may be really early to them.

No Nancylp. That's not a good enough excuse. Jon&Kate were under contract too. But their contract state that if either parents wanted to get out of TLC contract then they could. Which is why Jon pulled the plug on the Kate plus 8. Now I'm pretty sure it's the same contract with the Duggars. Like 1 of you Duggar lovers said prior... The Duggars probably had it in contract to show only the good side about their lives.

Jon was under contract and TLC would not let him do another reality show even though they pretty much pulled the plug on him (but were still paying him) that's when he cut his own throat and pulled his kids out, he's now being sued by TLC for breaching the contract so you must have your info wrong.

Jon has always wanted to close up shop but Kate wasn't having it. When Jon finally got a lawyer and grew some balls. He cut off ties... TLC can't sue Jon because it's written in his contract that if either Kate or Jon or both decided to pull the plug on Kon plus 8. They could do so, that is why the show was stopped. Because Jon stop it.

For a really good book about an exception to the rule you might be interested in reading Homeless to Harvard about a young girl whose parents were druggies, she left them and slept on the Subway (working parttime) while going to high school, keeping her homelessness a secret, she wrote an essay about why she should win a Scholarship to Harvard, turned it in on 18th birthday and is doing very well today.

I'm the same age as 1 of the Duggar girls, 19. I understand what you're saying. But that is neither the case with the Duggars. They did not watch Michelle slave in the kitchen or clean up after them. They were told to do it and got use to it, programmed to watch, clean and care for their sibs. To not have outside friends other then the Bates. Their house is hardly a mansion, it's 2 kits they put together, it totals about 7000 SF, they were trying to build it debt free and it took 3 years while they were all crammed into a normal sized house, the kids have dormatories instead of bedrooms, after 3 yrs it was still far from done then TLC came along and finished it, furnished it and even decorated it for them. I doubt they would have been able to film in a crammed in house.

I have seen bits of them in their little prayer sessions and they talk about what they believe and their commitment to God. That's TWICE nancylp, I saw those kids get up tired as every with sleep in their eyes, yawning, including the infant, baby and tots. Standing or sitting on the steps getting high beam camera lights flashed in their tiny faces. Horrible! I never saw them in any prayer session. Little girl trying to tape it up, don't know if that was for show and tell and she was told to do it. But what mother let their child shoes be so bad that there's no bottom to it? They'll like by a brand new hundred dollar bike and a 1.00 shoe. But they can fly all the way to Al Salvador with store brought toys though. Ugh!
