All Natives need to do is just re-learn their ways. Begin by learning your language then some sense of "self worth" begins to develop. After you build some confidence go get your grade 12 (if you don't have it). Get a job, then after that it's "baby steps" toward a degree or skill that reserves need, ie, caprentry etc. Natives are caught under a semi-apartheid at this point, barred from accessing their own resources. Fight for them, mine whats needed and re-build. Colonialism is slowly ending.

you forgot this about the residential kids--that they were raped often and they had to pray on their knees for hours and wash thier hands continuiously --and they didnt get to see their parents for months and months ((((((unlike you probably a mama's boy)))) and when they spoke the wrong language they were severely punished- and some had their tongues poked with needles--and not to mention that throughout north america--250000 kids were killed--

U are articulate and informed about what we went through and what the impacts are even to this day...in ur extensive research have you come across a video about priests/nuns throwing candy to a group of students?they look like crazed ants going after a piece of fresh meat,this is what happened to us,I often wonder what that would teach us as young children and what would stay with us as we grew into adults?In the video you can see that the priests and nuns are having fun
