You don't need a big mohawk and a studded leather jacket to be a punk. It's a mindset, short hair and generic clothes is more punk than the UK look from the early 80's! Cheap printed band t shirts and an old pair of jeans is all I need.

people still start bands though & play to a crowd of insulated friends in the private basement & garage shows, then they just go home. no u don't have to dress up, but it still shows the regular people there's something out there besides the mainstream in this country. even in the 90's, we used to get more shit for the fashion than the music up here,so I think the anti-fashion sentiment is overdone a lot of times. music & clothes has the same effect where I'm from.

@MrChattyO Yea Im 36 and been Punk since I was 16. Ive played in 12 or 13 Bands and the dressing never matter much to me. I have real long hair now just because I dont look well with short hair.Many in public mistake me for a Hippie and try to see if I turn the other cheek.Surprise Im no hippie and I love to fuck shit up. Of course in the past ive got drunk, shaved and dyed my hair every color, but its always been about music and aggression to me.
