  • This is so far the smartest way to make an easy jib in which you can tilt and pan. Thanks for the posting. I'm sure that tripod wasn't cheap if it can handle that much weight of the aluminum and the camera as well.

  • thank you!

  • Nice ultra light rig. Naturally, you have given others material to improve upon.

  • @TheLimbReaper

Thank you for having you comment.

Please watch at this video. This is the final finished work.

"Portable Camera Crane for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH1"

  • This is a great idea for DSLR's!! A little mod of adding a side tray on the tripod for a monitor could work as well. Perhaps using different washers (teflon) or bearings would make the vertical less shaky. Thank you for taking the time to post this.

  • @markerbull Thank you very much for making a comment. I take your advice into account. I want to make various Rig in future.

  • i like the hold music

  • Do you eat dog or cat

  • @ytmbrten Creepy lanuguage :o)

  • good idea but looks a little tough to work with. there should be a force against any pulling you do to make it smoother, and to also not have to bring it back to "neutral." Also, get the "controls" a little closer to the point of control of yjr crane itself.

  • @funkmonkey1000

Thank you very much for your comment. Please watch the history of the remodeling on my video in turn.

  • Can you use an external monitor with the GH1 or do you just use guess work with your crane shots?

  • There is no function of the external output for monitors in GH1. Therefore, I guess and take a movie as you say. ( by translation service of a website )

  • This is a truly ingenious design, but where on earth is the footage shot from the crane? It seems like it would be shaky and jerky on pans in any direction, esecially from those cable pulls...so where is the proof this concept works?

  • I understood what you have said using translation service of a website. However, it was not perfect. I cannot answer in English. Please watch the following videos with my channel. And please judge it.

  • Thank you very much.

  • Way Cool!

  • Thanks a lot. Please also see a video of an improved crane.

  • Yes, that's very true. I like this camera very much. But there are no systems to connect the outside monitor. I'm the same feelings as the ceramic artist who takes a work out from an pottery kiln.(I used the translation service of the net.)

  • amazing, I don't know anything about this camera but can you connect it to a notebook to actually have a point of view reference?

  • Thank you for the comment. This camera is popular all over the world now. But there are neither a system nor an application monitored with the notebook in this camera yet though it is regrettable. I hope for this function to be installed by the next upgrade. Please retrieve it by "lumix gh1" with Google once. (I used the translation service of the net. )

  • Your ingenuity is amazing - good job!

Where did you get that large size 'Meccano' for the camera cage?

You could probably stabilize it by hanging a battery powered electric motor with a balance wheel under the cage.

  • I bought it in the shop that sold the material of DIY.

The material appears in my video "Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GH1 DIY ZOOM HANDLE".

I assembled such a material by using the bolt and the nut.

The idea of "electric motor" served as a reference. Thank you.

Because I am using the translation service of the net, an appropriate answer cannot be done.

    That is regrettable.

  • Thanks for your helpful information and films. Don't worry about the translation, I understand what you say. There is so much nice stuff like those DIY parts in Japan that nobody seem to sell here in Sweden but I will find something to work with :)
