Regarding the 2nd Boss:

The jump button is pressure-sensitive. Little pressure means low jump, bigger pressure means higher jump. Anybody playing that game as much as you did should have noticed that.

This is not exactly identical to the arcades. In the arcade version, the first fireball is multiburst, or spread.. In this version, it's just one.

Great review, man. But if you think it's hard now, try playing it on INSANE difficulty! That way, one hit and you're dead! Seeing as you get hit every five seconds, it makes the game virtually unplayable!

You totally missed on the most ridiculous part of this game! You have an undisclosed time limit to complete the stages before a unbeatable giant spider comes down and kills you. And don't dare pull him to a sub-boss because by bug he'll be back again when after you die just to kill you again.

Great review but a comment on controls- jumps are time sensitive so the lighter you press the button the smaller he will jump. This is how you defeat the boss on level 2 without getting where you did.

@SWAGshow One of my buddy's actually bought the home system when it came out (for $700!) and got good enough at it that he could walk into the arcade (back when there were arcades; 1992-era) and beat it on 1 quarter, 1 life. It was insane. The guy there thought he hacked the machine because he had the memory card for it, that also worked on the arcade machine.

@SWAGshow I downloaded this onto my Wii's Virtual Console, and when I thought Ghouls n' Ghosts was hard, this game is like playing Ghosts n' Goblins with the Power Glove. At least the home version gives you 1 extra hitpoint for your altered form... I think I might do a walkthrough of this game if I'm good enough at it...

Sweet Lord! That game looks insanely hard, not something I'd wanna play, that's for DAMN sure. After about 2 minutes of playing it, you'd probably find the game smashed into several pieces and me standing there with the sledge hammer used to make it that way.
