yes allmost all snacks and seasoning in phils,in asia contains MSG.Here in europe is rare you find MSG in there foods else in chinese resto. I really hate to eat foods with msg i feel sick,in my stomach and always thristy. but i really like your video, way of your cooking filipinos food. Soon i will visit philippines with some of friends. I like to visit your place and if you can cook something for us.Pleasure to visit your place and taste your cooking. i will contact you by here. thanks
@yanoster Thank you for your suggestion, I heard a lot of negative feedback on glutamate that's why MSG in my recipe is always an option. The MSG until now, are not yet tagged by world Food and Drug agencies as hazardous food additive like potassium nitrate and is still widely used in commercial food products like snacks and seasoning, and they use a lot! I hope that information dissemination on the danger of using MSG becomes more clear and official and alternative product should be suggested.
@yanoster - I don't know.. I'm a bit skeptical with this. First of all, I have not met anyone who had gotten sick or died from consumption of MSG. Whereas cigarettes and smoking cause people to die everyday globally. ^_^
and if it is really bad for you, then everyone in Japan would be a nation of sick people and would have low life expectancy. (Ajinomoto is Japanese and they use MSG in their soups quite extensively) in fact Japan have a high life expectancy.
@yanoster Also, I don't agree people saying "don't use or eat MSG it's bad for you!" but then that same person picks coca cola as a beverage. we all know that coca cola has so much sugar and ingredients such as aspartame, phosphoric acid. So that's having a double standard and does not make sense to me. It's like a coke drinker saying, "yeah I drink coke with all the chemicals in it but I eat right, I dont eat MSG" :)
@yanoster I look at MSG this way, I look at it as, something that some people might be ALLERGIC to and should be avoided. Kind of like, peanuts. some people are highly allergic to peanuts but that does not mean we are all going to condemn peanuts. I'm not an advocate for MSG or anything like that but I always think for myself after I look at things in a fair and factual way. and always think outside the box and don't just believe the hype and what people are saying without reasonable logic.
