  • Good memories hanging with my cousins watching MTV!

  • Haven't heard this sinice mideighties. Thank you.

  • Best video of MTV age

  • Ok, I finally got it. When "The Boss" calls "Cyndi' at 2:45 and she motions "Me?" it's supposed to be a reference to his Dancing in the Dark video. That girl was Courtney Cox...

  • lol @ Moovees.

anyway, i liked these simple and cheaply made videos because once again it's about the message in the music.

The beat was good and groovy enough.

  • my oldest sister use to sing this song to me, she was a teen in the 80's and she always said "what u out there tryn to discover yo yo yo little brother.........and she sang it to me through my teenage yrs and know i have an 12yr old and a 5yr old and they both love the song....i just heard the full song for the first time 2 weeks ago after i googled "yo yo little brother"

  • my uncle got me into this song

  • Does anyone know why they didn't re-record the vocals with Marko since he did the vocals for the rest of the album?

  • Hahaha! OMG! I remember this song!

  • I haven't seen this video since my days in the 8th grade at I.S. 74 in The Bronx. Thanks for posting it by the way.

  • like the Freez-frame at the end with their silhouettes jumping in the air like a Leprachaun

  • hhahahaha

  • @marstha1 - it looks like Ric Ocasek the lead singer of The Cars and Cyndi Lauper.

  • ok I got little prince, springsteen, cyndi lauper.who is the little dude with the green jacket supposed to be?or is the chick supposed to be madonna?

  • 80's rocked

  • so technically you're saying this is another 'MILLI VANILLI' situation going on with the singing arrangements with this song..someone else is actually singing this ????

  • @JAdoreSephora -----You cant tell that's a black guy actually singing the real song??? You know white people didnt sing like this in the 80's. This voice doesnt even fit this kid in no way no fashion. black people making white people look good since the 1600's slavery cotton picking days. :T

  • @baazbana lol....didn't want to take that route on here...but yeah you're right..oh well...

  • lets tell kids not to do drugs, because making the world a place they might want to live in is too hard.

  • Amazing blast from the past! Awesome!

  • I absolutely LOVE this song, and any negative remarks? Go EFF yourself!!

  • OMG, I miss and love this song and video. Thanks for the upload.

  • This is amazing.

  • YO I LOVE THIS VIDEO. IT REMINDS ME OF THE TIME I HAD WITH MY LITTLE BROTHER. WHEN I HAD TO GO & GET HIM OFF THE BLOCK... BUT I'M PROUD OF HIM, HE GREW UP TO BE A WISE BLACK-MAN!... LUV YOU LITTLE BRO.

  • That's Classic "Hot-Shit" Hip-hop when it was still Hip-hop!

  • @Fstyl

Thank You so Much for Posting this Hit. We play it in your Honor Always.

  • can we say Milli Vanilli

  • Truth is,Nolan Thomas (real name, Mark Kalfa), did not sing this song. The original singer of this song, his name is Elan Lanier.

  • @veraluciaxxx You are right...Elan is a great Singer and is an active Singer and Entertainer in clubs in NYC

  • LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I USED TO JAM TO THIS SONG BACK IN THE DAY. WHITE BOY SAYING YO IN THE 80'S WAS TRIP..LOL

  • Where is Nolan Thomas?

  • Wiki answered for me. Nolan Thomas (born Marko Kalfa) was a Latin freestlyle artist known for his 1984 single "Yo, Little Brother," which peaked at #57 on the Billboard Hot 100. While Marko did appear in the music video, and sang all of the other tracks on the Nolan Thomas album, he did not actually perform the vocals on this particular track; Elan Lanier sang them. Kalfa is currently co-owner of the male fashion company Guido New York

  • ok so its prince springstein cindi and who?

  • @pawkyone the lead singer from the group "The Cars"

  • This is a great 60s cut and a hysterical video. Never realized Nolan Thomas didn't sing it. No wonder i bought the LP, and didn't like any of the rest of it.

  • The House was dancing LOL All man dis was pop cornish. But its something solidly gud about dis song.I wud say da production was pretty much a grade A sound.Shit dis reminds Me of kids incorporated tryna rap like Force MDs.

  • :D Okay, i saw Prince, Benjamin Orr?, Bruce Sprinsteen, Madonna? Cyndi Lauper?, and i belive the little brother is supposed to be Billy Idol XD

  • @iSmokeCupcakes Nah, homey with the shades is Rick Ocasek, lead singer of The Cars--who were big during the time, and the chick is Cyndi Lauper.

  • @nogetophule Okay thanks ^_^

  • Lol white people. Wait... shit.

  • That little brother looks more like a midget indian, was that the kid from temple of doom?

  • i miss the 80's.

  • wasn't the kid in the green jacket in monster squad?

  • This guy would be the product of American Idol 80's version if it existed.

  • One of the best songs in the 80s

  • "GO N' GET I'M' FROM OFF TH' BLOCK!"

  • Why did you remove my commentary? It wasn't bad.

  • re-post of comment by Memo2Self

I edited this video back in 1984. And the whole concept of the clip was to de-emphasize the lyrics, which are actually an anti-drug message. The thought was, if Little Brother was actually addicted to MUSIC VIDEOS, maybe the clip would get onto MTV when a drug message wouldn't. Didn't happen, but yes, it did make it to "Friday Night Videos" once.

  • @Fstyl I looked that comment statement up and it's absolutely True! Elan Lanier sang it! At fist glance you think "hey is that really the dude singing it" but then good music stays good music it just never really seemed like that voice was coming from him! Still good music is good music!!

  • @Fstyl it made the Friday night videos more than once.I remember this video from that time. This was the beginning of the Nancy Reagan ( so called anti drug era ) .Anyway, I dont want to get into a debate about this just want to say I like this video its been a long time since ive seen it thanks for posting it.

  • @Fstyl Seems more true today lol

  • @Fstyl - I did tape this video and it was one of my favorite songs of January 1985. Did it also get played on on New York Hot Tracks or any of the black aimed music video programs ?

  • this song is awesome i used to listen to it all the time back then on my way to school when i was gettting dressed haha

  • @AMEDINANA OMG HE DOES!! hahahhaa

  • @grizzlyfan41 More like FALCON PUNCHED

  • If the American people paid a little bit of attention to messges like this we probably would not have so much of the rubbish that is out there now.

  • @AMEDINANA BWAHHHAHAHAHAHA!!! You are so right, LOL!

  • @rexorrama how u think this short is Billy Idol?

  • bahahahahaha check out lil prince!

  • Love, love, love the baby celeb impersonators!

  • Love this!

  • take that 50 cent drug usin biatch!

  • This song is good, and has a pretty nice beat to it. But to all the people saying todays music is "crap". You guys really need to grow up, there is a reason everyone is "different" and everyone has there own "tastes". Stop being immature and ignorant.

  • @AMEDINANA lmao!!!!

and UNFORTUNATELY yes i've seen lady gaga and i completely agree

  • Hugo Boss mechandise.

  • Ow, my eyes!

  • The song was played in clubs in 84 (along with other emergency titles - shannon and jay novelle, but this video is remembered for more novelty than anything.

  • so is that nolan thomas singing this? big debate. most people say no

  • The first song that a newly formed dance radio station in Miami,Hot 105 Whqt-fm played when it made the switch to the dance format. Pretty unique,as I've never heard it again, maybe I'll request it on one of these "80's stations",and I'm sure they'll go, we don't have it.

  • I actually saw this video in 1984.I thought it was making fun of Billy Idol.I still liked it though.

  • damn, he really jumps high at the end.

  • Aw man! I remember this. I love the song haven't seen the video in so long thanks for uploading! I could have sang it to my brother although he probably wouldn't have listened!

  • only in the 80's could people be so ugly and still have careers

  • @jerica313 LOL spot on

  • @jerica313 First thing: This guy is not ugly nor his brother. Second thing: Do you know Lady Gaga ???

  • damn...this is so OLD!!!...i remember this...so funny!!!

  • Yeah! I remember this song ! I was big on breakdancing and electric boogie back then. This was popular amongst us break dancers back in the day !.

  • This is without question the most obscure 80s hit ever.Nolan Thomas if i lived for a billion years I would never have guessed his name

  • Too funny! I remember this! I was in 8th Grade!

  • i dont really understand why i like this...

  • @MrMusicFlood Yep and the little brother is Billy Idol, others are Cyndi lauper, "Bossman" Bruce Springsteen, and the one in the green coat I'm not sure.

  • @sjs5769 That's a mini Rick Ocasek from The Cars

  • it's sooo fuckin' awful

  • Is that the brother from "Clarissa Explains It All" ??

  • That little brother CLEARLY wants to 'get it from' his dad. LOL

  • Feel Like My Eyes and Ears Have been Viciously Raped!!!!

  • WHO?

  • How old were the actors? The makeup makes it hard to figure out.

  • wikipedia says:

  • dont know who he is,firt time i've seen this, what happened to him?

  • wow use to love this song back in the day still do

  • Wow, now I'm a total 80's head, and a major Electro fan, but I don't think I'd ever even heard OF this! Just sawt it on Rage Goes Retro. Amazing!!!

  • saw nolan thomas and he is singing this song along with the other songs i heard what he sang.. one of the first soul white people after teena marie

  • This shit...goes SO HARD!!!

  • Sweet sweet memories :)

  • this shits hip!

  • OMG, I stumbled up on this by accident, I remember this song and I loved it! Brings back good memories before life went bad, lol.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!! Talk about a huge freestyle classic!!!! I was about 9 when this was released. Now I'm really, really old lol. This was played in Chicago so many times and I'm still in love with this song!!!! So Marko Kalfa lip-synched through Elan Lanier? Well, at least it wasn't scandalous as Milli Vanilli's, who were lip-synching through studio singers the entire time (and resulted in having their grammy award taken from them). Rated 60 stars and highly favored :)

  • What? I have never seen this b4 but I like it :)

  • This song takes it back for me & growing up on the nw side of chicago was one of the greatest times in my life, and this song was one of them...ahhhhhhhhh 1984!!!

  • that is hilarious

  • it looks goofy now but back then it was kinda cool :)

  • I freaking love this song.

  • This was The Jamm!! back in Days 1984 Dang! Way back i was in JR High school Still sound goods yup yup!

  • Funny, cheesy, and in retrospect, a little disturbing.

  • @east215

    A "little" disturbing?

  • BREAKDANCE

  • LOL I love this song I was looking for it for a long time.

  • Horrid

  • i LIKE THIS SONG

  • This should be the new video in the style of Rick Rolling.

  • Possibly the gayest music video ever created....

  • @kalitexnis10 Have you ever seen some of the BEASTIE BOYS videos?

  • @kalitexnis10 haha you think :)

  • 30 people only have a little sister :(

  • @flshmastrj now 30 people can hear

  • @flshmastrj HAHAHAA!!

  • @flshmastrj haha

  • good music of that wonderful era, today kids and youngters dont know anithing about fine crafted music, they music is to kill, use drugs or even rape, today music dont sell, lady gaga is look like franskestein with make up, she is ugly like hell, and her music horrible all the way.

  • @0990314 you know sometimes when i hear that stuff that is called music today, u know on the radio on tv etc..im impressed how amazingly bad the songs are. Im not someone who just hate todays mainstream music just for fun, its just really that bad. i feel sorry for todays generation they have not even a clue how enjoable real good music is. So when they listen to lada bitch gaga, they believe this is entertaining music...thats pretty sad if you ask me

  • @0990314 Why do people always include Lady Gaga when they're trying to demonstrate how bad today's music is? Pick on Katy Perry, Bieber, Rihanna....they're the tone deaf ones with horrible songs. Gaga's not the culprit here - she's trying to bring the 80s/90s dance and synth pop sound back. She recorded an 80s Freestyle type song called "Fashion" that has almost the identical melody to "Yo little Brother". Her new album sounds like old school madonna, and her look is pure 80s extreme...

  • I wish the 80's were my hay-day.... :-(

  • lmaao.

    soooooooooooooo badass. ;p

  • This was a great break dancing song I have not heard in years, even though the video was kind of gay.

  • Peanut Butter Wolf?

  • @tfustudios He's a rapper.

  • i forgot about this song. it was crazy good back in the day, but without video runs on tvit fell off.

  • Beast

  • ok the girl is either, Cindy L , Madonna, or Boy Geroge...

  • @grayinu Cindy Lauper DUH

  • @grayinu The girl is impersonating Cyndi Lauper.

  • only in the 80's could this have happened

  • i love the 80s..

  • damn i really miss the 80's!

  • classsssssssssssssssssic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol this video is gr8

  • @Fstyl Thank you so much for posting this video! I don't think I've seen in since 1984 when it was played on Friday Night Videos. We didn't have MTV at the time (no cable in Queens), so this was our way of getting our video fix. I didn't know MTV didn't play it - now I know why my husband knew the song and not the video. I especially like the dancing house....LOL!!!

  • @Fstyl I believe this video was also shown on V66 in New England.

  • @superbanjo I remember that
