  • Very well done! I hope that I will manage this tripole thing someday as well... ;-)

  • @Keksduebel tripole=triole

  • that was amazing

  • The hunchback of Bach...

  • thats the funny thing of this most brilliant inventio ... it sounds very good at moderate speed but ooooowww it is also awsome in this fast speed, IF you still can manage to produce the right sound of each 'voice' and clearly hear the elements of this piece

    awsome work Gordon !

  • I really like the way you play, and love the piece, great job! Most of its pretty easy but those trills are impossible when you first learn it. Don't worry about your posture, just do what's best for playing (my posture sucks too XD)

  • Nice job! im learning this song right now... All i can say is you nailed those impossible trills dead on.

  • J'ai ta vidéo dans mes favoris depuis le 23 novembre 2006 et je ne suis pas près de la supprimer !!

  • La postura, te vas a hacer mierda!!!!y despeus no vas a poder tocar ni una nota...

  • sientese mejor

  • Isn't it amazing how the better the performance, the more negative comments you receive? There are some serious vultures on youtube. Just looking for some way to feel some sort of self-worth at anyone's expense.

Excellent job by the way. You made it yours without breaking out of the proper style. A+

  • Terrible posture, dont hunch your back, you will regret it later on...

  • 0:19 0:30 0:44 these are basically the three spots where you could be slightly better~

But I have to say I really like the way you play, it's not like you're playing the piece itself, you're speeding up and slowing down as you feel like it, and I think it's really important to make that distinction, instead of just playing on the same beat all the time~

  • a more musically aware version...good job...

  • Although she plays very good, I think that 'He or She' can play slower.

  • You are a little too fast, but I think your playing is great.

  • I also think that you are too fast ... but having hear this kind of tempo brings a new musical feeling to this piece. Great ... and I love inventions since one can never be boring playing them over and over. Always something new to feel :)

  • Comment removed

  • the reverb is awful but your playing is really wonderful.

  • leave the pedal its dirty use legato playing

  • *jaw drops

  • I know the song is powerful that wants you to go faster but don't just keep cool and don't over do it.

  • Why don't you mention that he should be playing a harpsichord aswell. Or he shouldn't be using the full range the piano can produce that a Harpsichord can't.

  • I think you are bit too fast

  • @dumyhary Maybe so, but it is still a reasonable temp for Bach music. Btw, this song is really hard when you first learn it!

  • @EvanWang999

I know it's not easy. I learnt it almost a year ago, forgot it, re-learnt it and didn't practise until I lost my touch. stupid me....but I was busy with other stuff.

anyway I think it sounds much better with a slightly slower tempo, although I appreciate his clear articulation despite playing so fast.

  • @dumyhary the inventions don't have a tempo marker

  • @vivasoberania True bit still it can be an opinion each one have as individuel :) ..

  • It's wonderful!!

  • i loved it :)

  • I don't know why that guy says it was messy , in my opinion every note is crystal clear.

  • that was really messy at times, but still good

  • HOLY CRAP UR AWESOME

so this is how its supposed to sound like

    whoops

  • fantastic! :)

  • awesome tempo.

  • Great! Bravo!

  • that was really good

  • wouw your speed of dis song is WONDERFULL just EXACLY i like him !! thank you very much !! very very VERY nice did my respect !

  • thats well good =D

  • Wonderful job ^^, well played indeed!

  • Wow, it sounds so beautiful!

  • great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It's fast beuatifull

  • you are my hero

  • this is tits

  • That was ponage! I'm playing this for my senior exibiton.

  • niiice....did u use pedal? cause i don't know if i should, considering its bach, and it was written for the harpsichord, not the fortepiano. so could you please give me some pointers? thanks!

  • very rarely would one find pedal in a Bach piece or any baroque piece. Unless its notated i would say don't use it.

  • yeah you shouldn't really ever use pedal for any baroque piece. only for akward transitions to sew up gaps, but that's all.

  • that's Beautifull!!!

  • You did this very well... unlike a lot of people. Great job.

  • Beautifull!!! Tks to share it... good energy.

  • Great job! I'm learning this now, but I just can't seem to get the trills quite right. :-/

  • I hope you can post some new videos, cause you're really great !!

    5 stars

  • Very well played!!

  • Perfect! You looked effortless keep up the good work!

  • thats pretty perfect

  • Keep up the good playing!

  • Nice playing.

  • Try to add more feeling and dynamics to the piece. You play mf basically the whole piece, and even though it sounds not bad, it could sound better, Great job though.

  • please thunder spare us your failed attempt at criticism - this piece's "feeling" comes from its tempo and clean playing, which this player hit spot on. How "could it sound better" ??? I can tell you how - on a Harpsichord, there is nothing more he could have done on a piano that would have made it "better." Bah I'm usually not this aggressive in a reply but I hate these kind of "MAN YOU NEED TO HAVE MORE FEEL, THE SONG WAS OKAY" posts.

  • I posted that comment a while ago while I was learning this invention myself. I now disagree with my own comment as Bach should be played very strictly at one sound at one volume and at one tempo. There are no accents, cresendos, decresendos, ritenutos etc. This video shows all of this very well, and even I play thesame invention likewise. I am sorry if I offended you, but like I said, I realise now it's a very good performance.

  • nice fingers :P

    damnn

  • very well, great job !

  • Fantastic. I grew up on the inventions and they are dear to my heart. Thanks!!

  • Eh...scratch my last post

I listened to other inventions, and so far, you're the best, except for the 46 second one..-points in scroll box-

  • 1. Sit straight

    2. Try to play faster

Otherwise than that, amazing skill, well done.

  • ...

  • Actually, I like it at the tempo you're playing it. Sitting straight would look more esthetic, though.

  • 10/10 straight! AMAZING SKILL! Keep it up!

  • Magnífico!

  • yeah, man, killer shit. We're studying contrapuntal works right now, and this whole thing is mapped out, so it was fun to follow along while you nailed this invention. Keep up the good work.

  • VERY NICE...u know i also play da piano ...i have da same piano u do ...im 14 i played that piece last year...i was wondering how old u were....cuz while i was checking those videos i saw 9 yrs old kids playing da same song ...nd i kinda got jealous , to be honest with u , anywayz...im having problems with finding the rythm , nd my teacher also wants me to find the passion i have 4 music...any tips or suggestions ? i take piano lessons @ da conservatory...u ?

  • frizzle 100: Glenn Gould sat the same way, so stfu

  • amazing... but sit straight XD

  • playing that song right now, but i am learning the other half ^_____________^ great job!

  • That was excellent! You accented all the bottom bass notes well, very nice with the tremles! Try bringing the melody out more though.

  • Bravo!

  • lol hunchback

  • wow! i wish i could play like this

  • the technique was fantastic b/c you played with the tips of your fingers, another thing, i couldnt tell if it was you pedal or if it was an echo but i kept hearing notes after they were played you might wanna check that out, anyway great job.

  • WOW 5/5!!!

  • I working on that right now and I take your video as exemple ^_^ good job

  • very impressive

  • That was beauuuuuuuuuuutiful...

  • Very very good

  • just quite perfect

  • exelente... María del Valle COStantini

  • cool :)

  • you are awesome

  • thanks for the compliments!

btw, i did not use any pedal. the echo you're hearing is the product of the electric piano itself.

  • come on dude!! no pedal!!! :/

  • Bravo.

  • Very nice! :)

    -Celia

  • Awesome. Fast and very clean.

  • great. you used the pedal, right?...
