if cattle/bovine cause to much global warming/gas,everyone should have been dead long ago when there were great bison heards,when there were many times over the amount of cattle/bison.

methane is not a persistent gas like carbon dioxide, so a direct comparison using only the infra red absorbance is invalid. There is no proof that there are more ruminants now than 10 000 years ago. Nearly all the bison(ruminants) in America were killed. The globe did not cool as a result. In any case why is Kyoto taxing milk producers and not oil producers? Just check the budget of their respective lobbyists!

@ytfarmer90 Yes it is true! In New Zealand, milk producers (farmers) are paying a carbon tax because of the methan from cows! It is quite bizarre as methane breaks down to ordinary carbon dioxide and methane levels have not risen since 1993. It is just stupid politicians wanting to be seen to be doing something.
