I know what the ending note is, but he is FLAT. I don't understand what you're trying to disagree with. He was off pitch, that was my point. I know what the note was supposed to be, but he was out of tune, pitchy, flat, off pitch - whatever term you would like to use - he wasn't singing in tune with the accompaniment or the other singers. There's no disagreeing with the fact that he was out of tune.
@rickigr40 I know that # means sharp and that b means flat. They taught me that in elementary school and solidified it in music theory in college and graduate school. My point was that he was supposed to sing a C#, but he was flat.
I just love this song! I love the part at 2:27 where the group is singing "I've read the book" and George Younce sings "I've read it, too". Subtle things like this are what I believe really made George stand out. I heard Bill Gaither say something like -George Younce was a great singer with a low voice.
Miss MiahJames...The clue to dealing with grandma is to start to pray for her...One old gospel song says.."Open My Eyes That I May See". Pray that God will open her eyes. He wants to. A Loren Talley's song, "David Did Dance" The music is also a gift from the Lord and to Him! The key to our Christian walk is to LOVE others as He loved us. We can't do that and be critical. "Let go and let God have His wonderful way, your burdens will vanish, your night turn to day." When we pray God can work.
and my grandma says any electric guitar and drums is evil...but all of her music (cathedrals...gaithers etc) use both....she contradicts herself so much....
anyone have any advice that i could tell her to show her when she contradicts herself?
PS. there IS such a thing as christian Rock, Rap, Metal, Metalcore, Screamo, Techno and any other genre u can think of
finally someone else who thinks the same way i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
srry but no advice only to stand tall and firm on your beliefs.......i believe God does not care the styling of vocals or music....it's all the words!
@Miahjames488 hand her a page with the words to a Christian rap or rock song, something like "Cling To You" by Trip Lee, (rap) or "Believer Indeed" by Petra, (rock) and let her guess what genre it is! :)
I love the Cathedrals dearly, but I have to question Scott Fowler's trustworthiness, because it's obvious he's a thief. He stole that jacket from Coach Bobby Knight!
thank you so much for posting this video. i've loved this song since i was young. (probably for the past 12 years or so) and i've never been able to find a visual of these guys singing this song.

See if the band and yourself use it to the Glory of God there is nothing wrong with it.
Satan corrupted the music so that people think it is wrong. God said make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Hope this helps

Ernie really surprised me on his one... I've seen a bass cover his ear to hit a low note but never a tenor to hit a high note... you go ernie!
victoryopop 2 years ago 3
True enough, I noticed that too. Never seen Ernie do that in concert or on video...not to say he hasn't done it before...
