but tech death does not incorporate grind like mathcore does. tech death does not incorporate metalcore like mathcore does. progressive is inherently more melodic than the norm for the genre its in, i.e. progressive death metal or progressive thrash. progressive doesnt always mean tech either. it could mean its just a little softer.

Technical usually implies more of a virtuosic approach generally and can get very complex. In some instances, yes they go hand in hand like I've said before.

Actually, there is a bit of a more vast difference than you think. And I know Blotted Science quite well. If you want to see what I mean of a vast difference, compare a tech death band like Origin to a progressive death metal band like Cynic, the difference is quite vast! Progressive and technical are both different things, they can borderline on similarities at times (like Augury could at times be called tech death when they are really prog death) but my point still stands nonetheless.
Also, one more thing. Blotted Science if it had vocals, it would still be progressive death metal, because it's progressive to begin with. If you listen long enough to them, they favor ideas and complex songwriting over technicality, even though the music is technical to begin with, and with growling or guttural vocals added, would still be progressive death.
Uh, by complex, do you mean just fast and quick, or actual technical complexity, using time signatures and other things? Most Blotted Science songs are incredibly hard, like part of Brain Fingerprinting that's in 23/16!
Most "technical" prefix implies it is by default really hard to play, but honestly they are basically the same thing, if there are bands with different "labels" (I don't believe in those past broad things like thrash, black, death...) it means their music is different, even if they're still technical or progressive.

Actually, there is a bit of a more vast difference than you think. And I know Blotted Science quite well. If you want to see what I mean of a vast difference, compare a tech death band like Origin to a progressive death metal band like Cynic, the difference is quite vast! Progressive and technical are both different things, they can borderline on similarities at times (like Augury could at times be called tech death when they are really prog death) but my point still stands nonetheless.

Also, one more thing. Blotted Science if it had vocals, it would still be progressive death metal, because it's progressive to begin with. If you listen long enough to them, they favor ideas and complex songwriting over technicality, even though the music is technical to begin with, and with growling or guttural vocals added, would still be progressive death.

Uh, by complex, do you mean just fast and quick, or actual technical complexity, using time signatures and other things? Most Blotted Science songs are incredibly hard, like part of Brain Fingerprinting that's in 23/16!

Most "technical" prefix implies it is by default really hard to play, but honestly they are basically the same thing, if there are bands with different "labels" (I don't believe in those past broad things like thrash, black, death...) it means their music is different, even if they're still technical or progressive.

actually I really don't think you had put here technical death metal bands...but brutal death metal bands...so the video name should've been "Brutal death metal compilation" or better said "Technical brutal death metal compilation" instead of only "Technical death metal compilation"...so or so I would included more technical bands like: Nile, Spawn of Possession, Prostitute Disfigurement, Arsis, Emeth, Origin or Brain Drill

Necrophagist, The Faceless, Beneath the Massacre, Dillinger Escape Plan, Fear Before the March of Flames. Those are tech death metal.

The only technical death metal band I heard was Sickening Horror, who kick ass now that I've listened to them. Everyone else sounded like... well... brutal death metal, and the last one sounded like Decapitated with pig vocals. It was pretty cool at the end, what band was that?
