  • I wish he would have simply stayed. Ask them tell them arrest them. That OPD cop was too polite. He has no idea how close he was to spending the night in jail. --crying about his right to know how his camera was broken while in storage..crying about the bill of rights. Now that would be entertainment. So very close. Dam

  • it's sad that 90% of the people searching "police raid" are looking for the police view of the raid but it turns out that it is just some clown trying to act against the police actions like they are actually going to make a difference.

  • the only thing intresting thing i can say about this event now is that the city of Oakland spent aroung 1 million dollars for just one night to keep these officers and keep them fed, but the next day they shut down 5 elementary school because of the lack in funding

  • Good

I hope all you brainwashed "occupiers" burn in hell. Your not protesting, your vandalizing.

You do have the right to assembly, but you don't have the right to move in on a street.

  • Please check this one.

Let's Get Rid of TPP !!Trans-Pacific Partnership Destroys National Economies

We japanese are opposing against TPP[Trans Pacific partnership]. TPP is extremely bad deal for all countries except wall street and multi-natinal firms such as wallmart.

  • Shame on the government, PATRIOT Act etc ... We are with you. Greetings from the Federal Republic of Germany

  • @billybassman21 such a republican thing to say...... I am the 99%; college-degreed, working professional, tax paying, voting American citizen. So, why can't I get health insurance. Wake up, my friend. You been bamboozled!

  • 99.9% THE REAL SLEEPING GIANT!

  • did anyone else hear someone whistling the imperial march from starwars around 6:25?

+rebelnarcopolitician+dictators+rulers+etc = DIRTY CAPITALIST SCAM PIGS.

BANKERS & DRUGLORDS screwed life & society in human history.

  • The people that involve themselves in these protests are fighting not only for themselves but for their accusers and arresters as well. We are all enslaved by the same mechanisms that plague our society, and we all feel the need to make it better. It is only a matter of time before a natural immunity kicks in and fights off the sickness.

And, it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

  • @hatfisc Coherent message? Obtainable demands? This is a democratic movement, not an individual or political party. People are protesting the loss of democracy to the banks, corporations and corrupt governments. The revolving door, head CEO come member of congress come head CEO. It's a vote for change, a vote against our current socio-economic system. They're saying it's time to once again come together and think of something better. They understand that the current system is too slow to change.

  • @mikemhz A vote for change? We tried that and it didn't work. The original organizer of the OWS movement said no such thing about improving our system. What does a change in our "socio-economic" system mean to you and how do you think that could happen? Do you think we're going to overthrow our government and economic system because some unkempt anarchists want to? You're going to have to get your hands dirty. Good luck with that.

  • @hatfisc For one, don't put all the protesters into one general group, just because they are outraged by the state of the world. You understand what it's like to be outraged, right? If you saw your family members suffer, you would do something, right? You would do whatever it takes, right? Well some people dedicate their lives in the same way for the human family. Dare call me a fucking hippie or an anarchist like it's some kind of slur just because I see capitalism is failing the people.

  • Haha you think voting some dude into the white house will change the world? In this twisted democracy, politicians go where the money is. When did the government last ask you what you thought other than which dude do you want to announce shit to you for the next 4 years?

  • @mikemhz I'm just being realistic. You may think there are large numbers in these movements but the nation understands what their ultimate goal is. Do you really think the rest of the country would let these people turn our economic system upside down? Could we be just a tad bit honest here please? I'm taking the time to have an honest dialogue, so let's cut the BS. If these kids became a real problem, they would be put down like a rabid dog. Quickly and decisively.

  • lets be reasonable and do this with class.

  • I have to say the lady cop was nice and she is in a hard place to so lets rember this that this is hard for them to . It will be a stand that will cost them their jobs.

  • sad that we condem other countries for the same actions... hypocrits most are....

  • Why did the police tip over the trash cans and through garbage into the street was this to stage a photo shoot ?

The Whole World Is Watching (Canada)

  • @BigEasyFFXIV this was the police going and raiding a palce of peaceful assembly, though our constitution says that congress shall make no law no supress our right to peaceful assembly and our first amendment says we have a right to free speech, expression, press, religion and right to peaceful assembly

  • @MarquiesX Indeed. The assembly of these citizens (freely and without any form of infringment) is far more explicitly protected than for police to even exist as an institution.

Astounding that these citizens currently employed by local municipalities can't get their heads around that _fact_.

  • Fuck off learn to spell "coming" You are just mad because you cant smoke your crack or puff your blunts like lazy ass people who dont do shit with themselves but bitch about everything that is going on.

  • Comment removed

  • @maddoghalo herp derp derp tea-party bullshit

  • at 6:10 someone is whistling star wars theme music...imperial death march lol

  • Cops are actually lucky there isn't a civil war going on. With the right number of organized and armed people the cops are putting themselves in a very bad spot by having so many in the middle of one place at once.

  • @Greenfire2200 yeah? start one. See how far you get with it.

  • @tstrenuous10 Never said anything about starting one (yet). It's coming if things keep going the way they are and the government refuses to budge on the issues (which I'm sure they won't since they're arrogant enough to believe that they cannot be overthrown). You think that if over half the country finally decides their fed up with the bullshit and tries to rebel that all the nations police and military will attack it's own people knowing their friends and family are out there, too?

  • @Greenfire2200 It's surprising that you're mad at the Government not agreeing on anything when Congress couldn't even pass a budget to fund National Healthcare and they had a super majority...All DEMOCRATS had to do was agree. Not a Republican around to stop them...and they couldn't do it then. Maybe a change in power is in order...but I HIGHLY doubt you'll agree with that. You'll blame CEOs before you blame the current administration.

  • @tstrenuous10 Blame both! They're mutually beneficial to each other. Corporations get them elected. It's not just that either, our economic conditions define every single policy we make. Control the economy control our society. It's economy first, people second. This is an archaic way to run a country when you consider all of our high technology.

  • @mikemhz really? Banks make bad investments...democratic congress bails them out w/o rules. GM goes bankrput and the SAME Congress bails them out with a few rules. This after passing a "stimulus" packedge and giving people who aren't responsible enough with money to pay their own bills, and 50% of the money is taken for credit card bills and student loans. Country decided during the last election...remember? and YES I think the military would stop this. Not MY friends and family...yours.

  • @tstrenuous10 Don't pretend to know what I'm thinking. I only blame the corporations for funding elections for who they wanted in office. That's where their power comes from. You can also point fingers at one party or another all you want, but you're talking to someone who is an independant. I never look at whether a person is a democrat or republican when I vote. My frustration comes from the government completely overlooking the majority vote on issues when they feel it's in our best interest.

  • @Greenfire2200 Unions never funded elections? I hope you're voting against the current government in 2012. Independent or not you said you're not happy with the government overlooking the majority vote...which happened with Obamacare and both bailouts. American public didn't want them and Congress passed all three. No pretending there.

  • @tstrenuous10 Unions could never hope to fund the amount of money being spent on elections by big corporations. Obamacare and the bailouts are only two of very many things the government has allowed or denied the public based on majority vote. Our whole system is fucked up and the idea that we're living in a democracy is obsurd in my opinion.

  • @Greenfire2200

checkout open secrets . com TOP PAC

find out how many are unions. Find out who unions are contributing their money to. Obamacare and the bailouts all PASSED! Nothing was denied by the Democratic Congress with the largest donors being unions. Guess who was bailed out...UNIONS! Talk about buying a vote. Vote against everyone in office today!!

  • and Dishman had just got those damn dishes done.

  • wow.......... arrested for what? freedom of speech? ugh........ what has this world come to!!

  • Anyone notice the Star Wars music being whistled?

  • This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

  • Uh...to all those saying "get jobs"...I shouldn't have to spell this out for you but...

The whole reason for the protests are that it's impossible to get jobs right now thanks to Wall Street. These protesters would love to have jobs, trying to paint them as lazy dumb kids is an insult to the very *point* of the protests. Get a job? Sure--as soon as Wall Street stops using taxpayer bailout money to give egregious bonuses to itself, and start hiring again.

  • @mtopper66 Who gave Wall Street taxpayers money? Answer that and we'll know where the protests should be taking place. Hint: The Tea Party didn't like the bailouts either, but the source of the problem is the banker loving government in D.C........

  • @dragons1037: the bailout was during the BUSH era. But clearly both parties are bought and paid by the corporations--which is also what the Occupy movement is protesting. They're doing it in Wall Street because as Michael Moore said, the govt is now just the servant of Wall Street--why go after the servants when you should be protesting the ROOT of the problem, ie. corporate greed? Did the govt order the banks to give people faulty subprime mortgages that tanked the economy?? No.

  • lol I love being called a 'punk' by un-educated dumb people..lol I make a valid point and he calls me a punk..that should tell you all you need to know about the 'Occutards'....why don't you go occupy a JOB??

  • You don't have the right to turn a town into a dump you pathetic losers. Get jobs.

  • I really hope we stand up and riot violently. The government thinks they can walk all over us because they have an army that can stretch beyond their own laws if needed. We need to show the government we can do the same thing.

  • @zoo1619 yeah? Like the Mehserle trials? Like the L.A. Riots? The 1% will rebuild. They always have. They always will. You're riots will just get people thrown in jail. You'd possibly bring in the National Guard or better yet Martial Law.

  • @tstrenuous10 I never said I wanted Anarchy. Just somebody to stand up with physical force, because Physical force is what scares the government. Frustration builds up in our hearts, and the only way to show this frustration is through violence.

  • @zoo1619 yeah? Is that what Rosa Parks or Martin Luther King, Jr. resorted to?

  • welcome to JEWMERICA, israel pt.2

  • police is the private Army of the rich & ruling class paid for by the American taxpayer. The police will do anything that their Masters ask them to do. Police are armed & retarded they will hurt you & enjoy doing it. They get pleasure of out killing people. The more police we have more crime we have because they create laws to make criminal out of anyone. Because of all the military equipment that the police received from the Army, police R the extension of the US Army to hurt US citizens.

  • civil war is comeing

  • @jimmyjoegarcia so true .

  • @jimmyjoegarcia We're not giving in to tyranny, and they're not giving it to democracy. You're right. I can't see anyway around it.

  • @jimmyjoegarcia

    yes it is........

  • @jimmyjoegarcia The fact that you can't spell "coming" tells me you're on the side of the filthy vermin in Oakland and NYC. You fools wouldn't stand a chance, being very lazy, drug addled, and stupid.

  • FUCKERS!

  • At Oscar Grant Plaza, a cop on loudspeaker: "Those remaining in Frank Agwana Plaza: You are arrested, *Please* submit to the arrest." [In another video, a recap of Oct. 25 in Oakland, a protester says that some in this predawn raid were beaten unconscious by police.]

"In a minute, there's going to be some problems," says a female officer grabbing a protester's bicycle as he's trying to assert his first amendment rights and those of other protesters who the police commence to evict.

  • @Cyallaire yeah...because it was only the cops who were going to make problems. not these people throwing stuff at the cops or occupying a public owned park and protected by public paid servants. Why didn't they just stop and get arrested? Isn't that more peaceful? Cops are just doing their job. You can practice your 1st amendment somewhere else. Not preventing you from exercising it. Protecting the park by California and Oakland laws...imgaine that,

  • @2220Blues: Name me something the world has done to be proud of? I really don't think cops are brainwashed. Their selection process is designed and executed by guess what ? That's correct ... other cops. So it stands to reason they would select individuals just like themselves. Just like the Post Office. Just like the group you run with for example. See how that works? It's not rocket science. Calm down and go look for a job.

  • USE-FULL IDIOTS, , GETTING WHAT SOROS' WANT .

  • @2220Blues we are waiting our lives and this world. 2012 is natural occurrences if it ever happens humans would destroy the world first... it already is

  • Police are facists

  • @Blacktolite just doing there jobs dude

  • Protesting Overseas ; Proud to See Democracy in the Godless Rest of the World

Protesting In America ; God damn unpatriotic hippies.

  • @TheSinOfLust312 patriotism implies you are proud of your country and they way it is currently being run. how the fuck can you be proud of the way this country is being run? how can you be patriotic to a country that lets the most rich people get away with crimes with minimal or no punishment, while a regular citizen would be punished much more severely? how can you be patriotic to a country whose government is spending all this money overseas, when we can't even take care of our own people?

  • @jw89 Incorrect, a patriot doesn't have to agree with the government or how it operates...

    Definition of PATRIOTISM

: love for or devotion to one's country

It is the duty of every patriot to protect his country from its government. Thomas Paine

  • @jw89: No it doesn't. You can believe in the founding ideals of your country and what those ideals stand for. That makes you a patriot. If you feel that your current administration is not following those ideals then being a Patriot would put you at odds with those individuals. Attorneys run the court system, not cops. You want to blame someone for injustice in court then blame all the attorneys that suck the life blood from it on a daily bases. Cops do not make money on court. ATTORNEYS DO.

  • @TheSinOfLust312 Sorry buddy but the hippie days are long sece past as well as the days of Kent state. No longer will we take off our tops and but flowers in the rifle barrels of or attackers Oakland has made it very clear its time to return fire. Lethal force needs to be responded with lethal force.

Screw peace and love, this is war.

  • @Jennybeale Totally Agree

  • ATTN FILTHY FLEABAGGERS YOU ARE ARRESTED

Take your punk hippie asses back home now

  • @jkelly40 Huh? Douchebag says what?

  • @TheSinOfLust312 I don't know what do you have to say? Douchebag

  • @TheSinOfLust312 I said kick unwashed hippies ass. Dumb shit.

  • Wow, 99% people are getting angry against corporatism... I can see globalism is not functioning all over the world. Occupy walls street is changing our society I guess. Maybe, it`s a way to nationalism we have to adapt on.

  • @Jooseok seriously? 99% FEED capitalism. How many name brand items do you own made in a foreign country. NO WAY you have all American made items in your house. You demand higher tech gadgets for lower or the same prices. Businesses can't afford to pay an American to do the same job and fund R&D. Look at GM...unions earn more than a DOCTOR DOES and they work an assembly line....NOT SAVE LIVES! Occupy WallStreet will crush with the recent donations since they need leaders now...not followers.

  • @Jooseok These fools claim 99% Lmao.... These are maybe 5 % These are lazy drug addicted scum. Some are actually quite spoiled and wealthy and they want excitement, overall they are scum.

  • Looks Like Glenn Beck was right. He called it.

  • @cconat oh and normal human beings DO steal. what kind of perfect world do you live in?

  • @Ubertastic

    Japan. :P haha

  • @cconat a you fucking kidding me. its not a democracy if we can vote for a politician who is bought and owned by a corporation. WAKE UP.

  • sorry but when you trash a part of the city then you violate the health code. i dont understand why the protest cannot assemble and re-assemble everyday @ primetime to express themselves. are some of these people seriously living in these tents?

  • yaaay the police state is here

  • Comment removed

  • @cconat Lol drink a little too much coolaid huh? eh well whatever helps you sleep at night. just keep telling yourself it works like that. It's supposed to, but if you paid attention you'd realize things aren't at all what they seem. When your rights are stripped away and the tear gas is flying your direction, you may feel different. History will remember this as a turning point. People are finally standing up and doing something about what they believe in.

  • @cconat Fascism is alive and well in this country. The 1% would applaud your ignorance, if they gave a fuck about you. Your voice and opinion mean nothing to them. The real thugs are the thieves running the corporations running the country.

  • This is the beginning of how governments fall.

Our government is rotten to the core and has been for a long time. It is in dire need of replacement. The Occupiers can make that happen they are today's heroes and the more the police abuse them, the more of us will rise up against the Machine. Go ahead do your worst but nonviolence always wins in the end, just remember that.

  • the more I learn bout 'merica, the less I wanna be here.

  • never saw this at a tea party event.

  • Move you finger dude

  • If you guys really want change you'd be out there demanding they give Ron Paul airtime. He is the only one who really wants to help you...yet the media ignores him, and they ignore him even more with these protests that don't have a clear message. I wish the message was more clear, but it's not. It's getting out of hand.

  • You people TRASHED a park and you want me to say "great job." Hope they get to use water cannons on you guys next.

  • @jj5098 thats abit of a sad claim since you are not there. and the ones who are 'trashing' the park is the police as you can see in this video. they are just 'following orders' by breaking up a peaceful assembly at 5am when people sleep and blasting people with tear gas the next night?

  • @MarquiesX Check videos from all over. These ppl are filthy pigs. They are typical lazy liberal scum who want someone else to clean up after them.

  • Comment removed

  • @dragons1037 i would like you to do the same, as you will see the cruelty of the oakland police from hitting a Iraq War verteran who severd 2 tous to purposely threw tear gas at those who hellped hi. then who is the scum? and just so you know, you may be right. its not 99% but 90% as 90% of the people i the US make barely more that 31, dollars a year, and in california that is just above the poverty line. Dont just folow main stream media. the videos here are from the event

  • @jj5098 I'm hoping for live rounds....

  • Shut up, you had 15 days of assembly. If the police didn't tear gas you I was going to.

  • way past due for a dump truck

  • but htese people have their own rights to assemble as poiunted out in the constitution of the the United States of America, but we are punished for gathering? this is the only 'occupy' movement currently where the police have responded with violence. they say its for unsanitary reasons that we cant stay, and yet youlet the homeless roam the streets. you say we are violent and yet you are the ones raiding while we sleep. actions like this show how unjust our society is to the US and the world.

  • WHO'S THE MAYOR OF OAKLAND?????? ........DON'T WAIT UNTIL ELECTIONS TO SPEAK UP.....CALL AND SNED EMAILS NOW NOW NOW NOW .................THIS IS JUST NOT AMERICAN. TIME TO REGROUP. THERE ARE SOME VERY WEALTHY AREAS IN OAKLAND AND THOSE AT BERKLEY NEED TO PLAN AND MEET AGAIN IN THE THOUSANDS. SHAME ON OAKLAND POLICE. THEY LOOK TO HARM CITIZENS FOR ORGANIZING PROTEST. POLICE ARE NO LONGER PEACE OFFICERS THEY ARE PUPPETS FOR THEIR PAYCHECKS. POWER IN NUMBERS. THERE JUST WAS NOT ENOUGH PROTESTERS.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: It is easier to just shut it all down than to deal with a thousand individuals and their individual perception of that their rights are and why they are the only ones that matter in the universe at that moment. The Police are not a governmental complaint department. They are there to protect and serve everyone, not just a few whiners with nothing better to do than cause problems. Besides .. if the police do over react it will bring more attention to you so quit complaining.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: You don't even know who the mayor is? LOL ... figures. Uneducated, Uninformed and Unreliable. You are the trifecta of idiocy. No wonder you yell all the time. It must be a medical condition. Too funny.

  • Some times I feel like a motherless child Some times I feel like a motherless child Some ...times ... I ... feel ... like a motherless child A long long long way ... from my home. Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom Freedom Clap your hands Clap your hands Clap your hands Clap your hands They may take our little twinkies and our bottled water and our medicinal marijuana ... but they will never take ..... OUR FREEDOM!!!!!
  • Free to assemble Free to protest Free to say what they want Free to resist Free to get arrested Free to leave Free to obey public laws Free to disobey public laws Free to Film Free to not listen to the instructions of a police officer in the execution of their duty and absolutely free to get arrested for it. The Street is no place to argue this. That is what courts are for. The constitution works both ways. Sue the city if you think your rights have been violated.
  • MAYOR OF OAKLAND.........WATCH YOUR BACK..........YOU CAUSED THIS AND IT'S TIME YOU LEGT OFFICE.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR Caused what? how else do you kick out nasty ass hippies? How else do you control large crowds? it had to be done. Now I can walk my dog there :)

  • Freedom of assembly does not mean building a shanty town and violating public health codes. Lets be real about this.

  • @ToadCharmer BULL SHIT.......IF YOU DON'T GET THE BIGGER PICTURE YOU ARE A TROLL.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: When you say "bigger picture" do you mean your big whining ass or can you be more specific? What is "the bigger picture" to you?

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: I love this. You are no different than the police you bitch about. You are not interested in anything but pushing your point and having everyone who hears you bend to your point of view. That is not freedom of speech my ignorant friend. I think the bigger picture you speak about is the simple fact that you share the same narrow minded viewpoint as the people you protest against. You don't know shit about freedom.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: I would not be surprised to find out you were one of the assholes throwing rocks and the police in an attempt to incite them into an attack on a peaceful protest. You are the perfect definition of a troll.

  • WE ARE BECOMING A POLICED NATION STATE BY STATE.............WE THE PEOPLE ARE .....ARE NOW THE WEALTHY TO BE PROTECTED ONLY ....THE GOVERNMENT/ADMINISTRATION, POLICE/ LAW ENFORCEMENT AND LEGAL/JUDGES. HOW HAS IT BECOME A COUNTRY OF NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS....WATCH CSPAN AND HEAR HOW POLITICANS DON'T BELIEVE IN U.S. CONSTITUTION OR BILL OF RIGHTS. WE ARE NOW IN A POLICED NATION. WHEN OUR MILATARY COME HOME WILL THEY ALSO SHOT US DOWN??? FUCKIN COPS....AND THEIR POWER TRIPS.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: I'm not wealthy and nobody messes with me. I have a great relationship with law enforcement. I don't break the law and they don't come tear-gas my ass. You might want to try that. Whenever I call them about some idiot acting like a fool on the street they come right over and take care of it. You just don't understand how the economy works do you? The guy selling you pot makes more money than you do and breaks the law. Go protest in front of his store.

  • @GOLDENFLYWARRIOR: If you think this is bad ... what do you think will happen when the muslims take over and do away with the constitution all together. The same people protesting now are the same people who want us to be more tolerant of "peace loving religious cults" who would do away with all your rights under their laws. You don't want our Military overseas fighting against that kind of tyranny and protecting what rights you do have so don't bitch when it gets here and takes them away.

  • @ToadCharmer

please excuse me but you sound like a complete ignoramus. Muslims are Arabic which IS a religion, one of the three largesr alongside christianity and judaism and all three worship the same god only with slightly different beliefs and interpritations on what god feels. Secondly, the terrorist you are refering to are only a select part of a societ and you shouldnt blame the whole on a segment. i know this does happen and always will, but that doesnt make it any better.

  • @MarquiesX : That is not true. muslims worship the moon god of a pagan cult. Not the same God as Christians and Jews. I never said anything about terrorists. That was your word, not mine. Just like many naive people you have not been educated into the core beliefs of muslims. Why don't you use the internet for something else besides youtube and social networking. EDUCATE YOURSELF. People like you just quote useless crap without ever knowing what you are talking about. "Ignoramus?" LOL

  • @MarquiesX : This is too funny. Right after calling me an "ignoramus" you state that muslims are Arabic and that Arabic is a religion. FYI there brainiac: Most muslims are not from Saudi Arabia and do not speak Arabic. Can you be more ignorant? This is the level of intelligence we can expect from these idiots occupying their dirty little tent city's. They all live on assistance like welfare and food stamps and then protest and complain about the society which provides that for them. Crazy.

  • @ToadCharmer The ignorance you display in claiming that the protesters are all dependent on gov't aid is more profound than someone who doesn't know that Indonesia has the largest number of Muslims. You couldn't possibly know how the people in those camps get by. You didn't poll them, no one else has gotten any reliable statistics on them, and they aren't furnishing an exhaustive statement on their life circumstances. Sounds like you get your "info" from Faux News.

  • @Cyallaire: We are all convinced that your interpretation of reality stating that through their own hard work these people have accumulated enough wealth to allow them not work and instead spend all day sitting around a makeshift tent city doing a great service to the community by littering, taking up space and spending a majority of their time social networking and posting on youtube is much more reliable than mine. why don't you just say "You're not the boss of me?" It fits your mentality.

  • @Cyallaire: If my statement is not 100% correct what percent do you think I am off by? 10, 20? I know without a doubt these people could not exist with the community that they protest against. They are biting the hand that feeds them. They are like parasites that bitch about not getting enough hand outs or not being paid the maximum amount of money for the minimum amount of effort. There are other countries in the world. Our borders are not closed to people leaving.

  • @Cyallaire: This country has resources that other country's would kill you for. What do you think keeps you free to act up like an idiot whenever you want to? Respect is earned. If you want to honor the patriots that came before all of us then honor the constitution with due process and use the system in your favor. Your friends are as narrow minded as the people they protest against.

  • @ToadCharmer Maybe the nation has resources others would kill YOU for, ToadCharmer, but your reply is a non-sequiter. Honor the Constitution: Freedom of Assembly, and to petition the government for redress of grievances. You're in a bit of a quandary, since one of those who you'd credit with maintaining Constitutional freedoms and protecting national resources was critically injured by a tear gas canister aimed at his head.

  • @Cyallaire Pretty sure those tear gas canisters weren't aimed at anyone. It's a crowd dispersal device, genius.

  • @Cyallaire: Constitution or not , if you twist a dogs tail you will most likely get bit. The protestors in Oakland were marching through the streets last night, charging at the police and then turning away, trying to incite some sort of altercation with them. Only a complete moron would think that these protestors do not want something violent to happen in order to draw more attention to the situation. They are begging for violence. They live their lives as perpetual victims. Too obvious.

  • @Cyallaire how do you know what it was aimed at? Did you shoot it? Those things are pretty damn inaccurate

  • @USARNG29th On a video that was taken from the ABC affiliate's news helicopter in Oakland, it was plain that the police were firing the tear gas canisters at the bodies/heads of protesters as they fled from the first volley of tear gas. OPD had already achieved crowd dispersal of a PEACEFUL march, but continued firing. A former Marine with special operations in crowd control said what occurred was prohibited under rules of engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • @Cyallaire Like someone in a helicopter, filming from the top down from hundreds of feet up can really see along the sights of the weapon in question to see what the crosshairs are trained at. Also, I was in iraq, and no one (including many iraqis who had come to expect FAR worse) would bat an eye at some rubber bullets and teargas. Nothing against the vet who took the headshot, but he's already established as ideologically motivated and I'm afraid bias is easy to come by.

  • @Cyallaire Plus, I watched the video and a few others....I see orders to disperse, abuse and thrown objects the only response (in some cases)...then the cops disperse them. Yes teargas sucks (i was in the gas chamber in basic and again for training later) and yes those canisters have a good velocity on them ( thats so that you don't have to be standing right next to the people you're teargassing...in range of attack and breathing your own cs gas).

  • @Cyallaire If they were aiming at them as you say...I'd think that trained police, firing many rounds apiece would have put a lot more people in the hospital. As far as I can see, the cops are being injured at a comparable rate to the "peaceful" protestors. Although in fairness, I do think that most of the protestors didn't want violence, unfortunately it only takes a few in a group to get everyone standing around them in trouble.

  • @Cyallaire Ever been at a bar fight? The bouncers can't usually interview the brawlers and determine fault and only throw them out. They typically grab everyone involved (sometimes blameless bystanders) and throw them out on their ass. Thats why the smart person who doesn't want trouble will move away from belligerents who are about to get rushed by bouncers/security/police. Just saying...chris rock put out a good segment on "how not to get your ass kicked by the police"

  • @Cyallaire All comedy aside, that segment has pretty good advice. Coming from a reformed petty criminal and troublemaker....I managed to avoid excessive police caused damage to myself by following similar advice. Bottom line, you don't want trouble? Move the fu*k on when the cops tell you to, come back tomorrow, maybe this time with a permit like EVERYONE else has to

  • @USARNG29th Getting a permit is antithetical to the Constitution's first amendment regarding freedom of assembly for the redress of grievances. - I'd read that while some of the protesters heard the order to disperse, on the other side of the plaza the police directives could not be heard amid the commotion.

  • Wooohooo! Intimidation time uh!? But will it work? Will the LAND of the FREE and the BRAVE backs down so easily???

  • Please submit to the arrest & the destruction of your civil liberty & personal freedom. America is now a police state funded by the banks & corporations.

  • "You are arrested." "Please submit to the arrest." How many citizens do you think there are in Oak
