I respect your opinion but religion (Christianity in particular) does provide a process through which absolutism is formed and creates a core of values. That is not to say that you can't have morals without believing in a religion but you have to admit many acts of piety have been rooted in the church. Abandoning religion/God with nothing to replace may encourage nihilistic behavior (as predicted by Nietzsche). I know the that there have also been atrocities but the vast majority are good imo
