  • That's fantastic!

I'm just starting to learn some Irish tunes on my tenor sax.

I dunno how other traditional players would take my instrument because all the Irish stuff I have seen saxes in have the sax kinda silent.

I play EWI too and want a low whistle.

There is a track here by Michael Brecker, it starts on EWI but you should check out the tenor sax from 5:05:

I can't play like that but have a very similar sound.

I would really appreciate your thoughts.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. I think that traditional music sounds the best when performed on traditional instruments. If you play in the context of world fusion then an Irish tune on EWI or tenor sax could be a nice gimmick, but generally, for Irish music I prefer traditional woodwinds.

  • It sounds amazing, i love low :) Great job!

    Kisses!

  • Wow, thats epic man :)

  • Laddie you made my day! That was QUITE nice!

  • What key is the whistle in?

  • don,t know how to express wild applause on here, but you got it anyway, brilliant, thanks for sharing

  • great

  • Excellent playing! Loving the rolls and trills. Thanks!!

  • are you a viking?

  • @MexicanPiper

    Not that I know.

  • Wow, that was really impressive. I used to play the whistle back when I was travelling and I would sorely like to get back to playing. Unfortunately now I'm not on the road I don't have people around willing to jam all that often so i was wondering where you got the drum track you were playing along with? Something like that would be awesome to help me get back into it.

    Cracking vid. :)

  • @welshboi1649

I made this drum track myself. In fact, it's just a 6 seconds loop being played repetitively. There's lots of bodhran videos on YouTube, just extract a segment and play it in loop, that should do it.

    Cheers.

  • @SaReGaMaTheArtist Cheers, can't believe I didn't think of that. And I see myself as being tech-savvy too :D

  • @welshboi1649

    Yeah :)

Anyway, you can PM me your email and I'll send you the loop I'm using here.

  • OMG dude you are definitely one of the most talented whistle players I've ever heard...

  • @Inheritencefan1134

    Thanks!

I'm a novice in all that concerns Irish music, so your comment is really encouraging.

  • @SaReGaMaTheArtist No problem, you just keep working hard, you can easily be the best! :)

  • great

  • spectacular!
