Thanks for the comment. I think that traditional music sounds the best when performed on traditional instruments. If you play in the context of world fusion then an Irish tune on EWI or tenor sax could be a nice gimmick, but generally, for Irish music I prefer traditional woodwinds.
Wow, that was really impressive. I used to play the whistle back when I was travelling and I would sorely like to get back to playing. Unfortunately now I'm not on the road I don't have people around willing to jam all that often so i was wondering where you got the drum track you were playing along with? Something like that would be awesome to help me get back into it.
I made this drum track myself. In fact, it's just a 6 seconds loop being played repetitively. There's lots of bodhran videos on YouTube, just extract a segment and play it in loop, that should do it.
That's fantastic!
I'm just starting to learn some Irish tunes on my tenor sax.
I dunno how other traditional players would take my instrument because all the Irish stuff I have seen saxes in have the sax kinda silent.
I play EWI too and want a low whistle.
There is a track here by Michael Brecker, it starts on EWI but you should check out the tenor sax from 5:05:

I can't play like that but have a very similar sound.
I would really appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.
