Men will never take responsibility seriously.. in sex ..since they don't get pregnant . They don't have the burrdon of stigmas of public scrutiny of an out of wedlock pregnancy , or an abortion (once illeagal) Then the ultimate assumption mothers are responsible first for the children that sex produces . He ultimatly is free by his gender .The revolution freed men not women. Fee to further neglect to take responsibility for thier selfish actions . Anyone can rationalize abuse of power.
@DamLazyFuk Darling I do bake cakes , and did raise two fine young men ,and before that I made up to $1500. a day in the commercial film , and photography industry (in the 1980"s and fifteen years before that as well ) So stick that in your easy bake oven and smoke it , little boy !
yeah, we can just look at biology, we know men invest way less into a baby and that have enourmous implications on the psychology of sexes during millions of years of evolution. Pure knowledge is the only way to override certain dispositions. So acknowledging the differences is probably the way to go about this subject.

It's very unfortunate that Buckley takes such an antagonistic approach, especially since Hefner is willing to speak so openly and honestly. Thus a rare opportunity for an intriguing debate between two fundamentally different points of view was wasted.
I've always thought of Heffner as a moral dirtbag, but I reluctantly concede that he comes across here as both a gentleman and a thoughtful person.
@7beers Really? Buckley's antagonism comes to me as no surprise. And if I may object, au contraire, it is Buckley not Heffner who is a "moral dirtbag". This buckley fellow was a cunning pro-segregationist, creationist, "crypto-nazi", snide,self-righteous and puritanical. It is a tragedy there is no hell for buckley to combust in
@7beers "the White community in the South is entitled to take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally, in areas where it does not predominate numerically? The sobering answer is Yes the White community is so entitled because, for the time being, it is the advanced race" --- William F. Buckley, Jr.
@WhenLilacsLast Interesting. Reading the statement in his Wiki entry puts it in a different context. Let me ask you: what exactly do you think he meant by: "take such measures as are necessary to prevail, politically and culturally"?
@7beers There exists proper citation for that quote.Look it up. Knowing how buckley often used sly euphemisms and equivocal arguments to indicate the most horrific things imaginable, I don't doubt he was advocating lynching and cross-burnings as the means to prevail.
Little did Buckley realize playboy would, in under 50 years, become the most artsy "porn" in the world. He sounds sooooo fearful of god, it must suck having to look over your shoulder all the time like that.
What is highly supect is someone nitpicking such insignificancies.

anyone who licks their lips while conversing as much as Buckley does is highly suspect.

haha Hugh Hefner had the view that homosexuality would be reduced if the sexual revolution of heterosexual peoples was successful. Hilarious.

@WhenLilacsLast Quite a list. I will address only one: references as to his pro-segregationist stance?

Can you post more of the Firing Line exposes from the 1960s. I really enjoyed the show. Thank you for posting.

This part (5) seems to me to be the most interesting of the interview. Especially picks up when Buckley challenges him on subverting norms....

You fall into the common trap of confusing fear for morality.
