Alien Breed 2 has some interesting ideas, the addition of storytelling and cutscenes to the top-down genre is nice. But the game often becomes monotonous and repetitive. Even the floor mostly consists of blocks of equal size. Also, when you're attacked by the crowd of monsters it's not possible to avoid taking serious damage.

Top-down shooter Z-Hunter is much better, because it don't have these flaws. Have a look:

@iaureee they arent same at all.Alien breed 2 has singleplayer and singleplayer 2 player coop.In alien swarm u can have 4 player coop and u cant play the campaign solo only first missions with bots.U can also play up too 6 players with some tricks.In alien swarm u dont stay too collect items.Alien swarm is MUCH more fast paced and u need so much better teamwork on higher difficulties aka Brutal Onslaught Hardcore.I got all achievments so i know this.Alien swarm is better in my opinion.

it is free but the coop is annoying because pick-up bullets are too few for the alien's extremely huge scale and it has unrealistic mechanics where you have to 'die' to heal yourself to half, well maybe this mechanic has it's advantages but it just doesn't feel right for me

I wish you had specified in the title that this is the demo. I think that the demos for these games are misleading when trying to judge the pace of gameplay. They make the action seem too continuous when there is actually more room for tense exploration.
