This is known as hydroponics pearls.Bolls, you mean? They're pretty neat. I like to touch them because I have this weird affinity to anything squishy and transparent. You can use them to grow plants or keep cut flowers in. They slowly release moisture. You can also use perfumed water to expand them and the balls will release the perfume water slowly, keeping your room smells good. They will go back to dry state after releasing moisture. You can then expand them again with water.
