I swear it's Robert Plant. So simular. Same thing with the guitarist.... Such simular tone, and everything, ya know, minus the fact that you guys are a Zep tribute band. :P But. The bassist reminds me of John Entwistle of the Who
How is it that this video has not won any awards? This is shockingly good. Are these vocals in this video actually Robert Plants.....I read the "liner notes" but this is so spot on that I have a tough time believing my ears. Just amazing.
Virtual Zeppelin has a Facebook page. My personal Website is jamesdylanofficial(dot)com Just came off a North American tour with Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience. Fall tour dates will be posted at JBLZE(dot)com
Brilliant. Amazing. Effin awesome! I felt a tear. :') . Well, time to start practicing. Got a long way to go before I'm good at the guitar yet. And awesome keyboard ending. Sounded close to the mandolin!
You know, you are a very talented man, man! Very good. Job well done. It put me in a very good mood and you enlivened one of my very favourite rock songs. Thank you very much and keep up the good work. I too sing, play guitar and bass and my number one instrument, my life and my work, the essence of my art and my soul, the drum kit...For thirty one years now. John Bonham was certainly my favourite rock drummer by far. He just exuded pure and raw energy entirely compliant with a theoretical basis
Love the production of the video. Thank you for the closeups of the instruments being played. Haven't mastered it like you guys have, but this is the only video I watch while learning to play over the hills. Perfect.
i am blown away!!!!! i was watching this thinking it was the actual track playing and you were just pretending.. but holy... you are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
man you niggas need to get together and shit!! this seriously fuckin rocks!!! im a huge zeppelin fan and yall are the best cover band ive ever heard. and big props to everyone but big props to the singer cuz robert plant has a hard but haaaaaaaaard voice to cover...this shit is seriously epic! id pay to see yall cuz they arnt people who jam like this anymore!
I don't know why people like James Hetfield do it, but I imagine it helps him sing in some way. In this video it is an illusion. My home has 10' ceilings and the camera is up in a high corner of the room. As a result, when I lean forward into the mic I move down in the field of vision. I put the camera up high so the mic isn't as much of a visual obstruction in the video. I like the mic to be exactly straight across from my mouth.
@jamesnorthernva if anything, that impairs their ability to sing, because their head makes their throat in such a position that their voice is choked in. Lemmy from motorhead sings upwards so his throat is open all the way.
This is good. How would you like to record on the same type recorder used to record Whole Lotta Love? It is your for the asking. Only 160 of them were made. The mighty Scully 280-8 one inch. I have it and it is yours.
Huge fan here, I've emailed this video to all my friends!
I especially love the singer's ability to sing the chorus like it was originally performed on Houses of the Holy!
Robert Plant quit singing the high notes in the chorus ("Many times I loved") in about 1972 or so. Zep still performed this song live but Plant changed the chorus melody so it was nice and low! I don't know if it was the cigarettes or just getting older but it was never the same song afterwards.
If the singer isn't already sighned to A major label then he should be because those vocals are million dollar pipes. a true blessing from God..........
The vocals are the hardest to get, anyone can learn to play some of Zeppelin stuff on Guitar as well as they did, but the vocals you have be born with.
Thank you. I think the difference is that Frank, John, Jun, Bill and Karl make their parts sound like the original recordings. From what I have heard it is extremely rare for a musician to be able to do that.
I just gotta say WOW, that was incredible! Everyone involved to a great job to say the least, amazing cover! I love the vocals at "pocket full of gold"
@dragonfoe You might want to try learning this song on guitar yourself before you leave a comment like this. It's actually a pretty difficult song to play accurately, there are a lot of little nuances in there that these guys do a great job covering.
Ok i did have a Youtube account till i watched this Vid....you guys rock..i have seen Jimmy Page in concert and Robert Plant twice and i know Zeppelin...they have been my Fav since i was in the 7th grade. I have NEVER seen anyone do their songs justic until now....great work!!!!
Outstanding! I consider myself a huge rock performance seeker in YouTube and now that i watch this, you guys will make it on my top 10 favorites! Thank you all!
Okay so I watched this video and at the same time watched the studio version from zeppelin, and would pause each after every few words, and its nearly exact with plant. I don't think plant himself would hear any difference, because i sure don't. Its spooky man.
I've seen all your videos, and obviously they're great. Easily the best out there, and not just your covers of plant. You do AIC and Freddie justice and I thought I would NEVER say those words.
I know this probably gets asked a million times, but do you plan on trying Immigrant Song? It'd blow my mind even a step further :|
Keep rocking dude - I'd pay to see you, and I know thousands, no wait, millions, of other people would as well.
Thank you HendrixTjaden, yes, in fact, we are doing the Immigrant song now. A couple of us have already recorded our parts. I will inquire where we are with it. I've heard a couple of the recorded tracks. They sound amazing. Jun and Vanderbilly are working on something special for this one.
ninjae4976, I have never looked into what my actual range is. You can hear what my falsetto voice sounds like in my video "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do" at 2 minutes and 58 seconds and in several places in my "Sweet Surrender" video.
Wow! Note for note on everything! It's crazy to see what you've covered! By not being in the same room, do you send everyone a "click track of the tempo?" That drummer's timing is dead nuts on! Everyone's is! I've seen your other video's, and they are all great! COOL! How about The Song Remains The Same? (as if you're taking requests. lol)
Thank you TheRikkiDee1. I know he is familiar with the idea of using a custom click track, because I've made a couple for him. One of the ones I made was for "Black Dog" which would have been very challenging to do without a time reference.
Hats off to you and the rest of the guys! With all due respect, as a fellow musician I really think this is amazing what you have accomplished here. I don't know if Robert Plant ever covered his own studio vocals as well live, as you covered them here bro. BRAVO, nicely done!!
Well, all this virtual thing is intersting, but what do you seriously plan to accomplish with this remote zeppelin? Why not meet together? And who mixes and promotes all this?
Thanks, I don't know that music accomplishes anything, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's worth performing it. The reason we have not met is because we live in different parts of the world. Remote technology is not new. Led Zeppelin used a mobile recording unit and rarely recorded their parts in the same room at the same time.
The difference the internet has made for us is that it has allowed us to meet each other, it has allowed us to send each other files and it has given us an audience. Jun626, Vanderbilly, Bitwonk and Myself have mixed the music. We do not promote the videos. People discover them while searching YouTube.
All 6 members of Virtual Zeppelin have this video posted. The same video on jun626's channel has been viewed well over 100,000 times. I haven't added up all the views from each channel, but this video's combined views are probably close to 200,000.

All 6 members of Virtual Zeppelin have this video posted. The same video on jun626's channel has been viewed well over 100,000 times. I haven't added up all the views from each channel, but this video's combined views are probably close to 200,000.
