thank you, you answered all my questions!!! in 1:20 secs. Im on my second year and I love my asparagus garden!!!!! The ones I have harvested so far are great tasting, it will be hard to give it another year!!!

Hi. My name is Joe. I have a question. I just bought the Asparagus at the Wal-mart. and it came with 10 crowns that has around 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch in diameter. and they are starting to grow already. and those are around 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch in diameter. Should I wait for 3 years to harvest? or should I start harvest now? It's been a 2 weeks that I planted in my garden. and if it is O.K. to start harvest should I keep on cut them till winter? or harvest only so much and let it grow?

Wait for about two years -- the ones at WalMart or Lowes or Home Depot are probably about one year old as they stand.
