  • I love the old Cat, still getting it done today!!!

  • I think i've driven past that building at the begining of the vid. Is it about 1/2 mi s. of the interstate? A friend and i drove past it and someone said they used to spray out of it. Everything is all built up around it with houses/commercial....not many cotton fields left.

  • Unbelievable what's on Youtube.

It a picture of the outfit I used to work for in the 80's Country Boy Crop dusting in Tolleson Az.

The Agcat is being flown by either myself, or Lyle Owen ( LTC US Airforce Ret., Phantom pilot extroidinare). I think Lyle and I were the only ones to ever work the airplane.

This AgCat 6749K was later destroyed in a fire after an engine failure when lyle was returning from a spray job.

  • That's Bob Leverton's strip! Who posted this? My Dad flew for Bob from the early '60's off and on 'til the 90's. Please contact me!

  • Who's your dad? I am Bob Leverton's grandson and I was probably flagging in that video......how do I contact you?

  • that was pretty cool

  • I love radial engs. because of the noise on the groud. Im a handeler/Wing man, we have 2 turbins and 2 really nice radials and you just cant get done with a radial what you can with a turbin> loud but awesome!!!

  • in the days whenever AG CAT and Stearman biplanes were THE crop duster planes, they always made me think of WW1 aces or something like that. I loved the radial engine sound.

  • The name was Country Boy Aviation. I was working for Marsh Aviation back then.

  • Great video/ I don't remember who was flying on the West side of Phoenix about then, but I was flagging for Sanders Avaition in Tempe AZ about the same time frame. Great people to work for too.

  • and great skillz! ;)

  • wonderful plane....!

  • awesome . ag-cats RULE man . love that radial eng. sound.

  • yeah, get you a good set of muffs or earplugs, they come in handy! The garretts run at abount 95% power all the time, with all the power changes being controlled with the prop. They really scream on the ground, that's for sure. Really good engines for ag work, though.

  • Hey! Nice video. I've got a little oer 1,000 hrs in B model radial cats, and 35 hrs in a garrett powered cat. If you get the turbines, you will LOVE them! Only thing about the Garretts is the noise, otherwise, they're bulletproof!

  • I heard they're noisy as hell on the ground. And thats where i'll be. im a handler.

  • Hopefully I'll have a current spray operations video up once the season starts this summer.

  • Thats a super "B" ag cat with the 600 p&w R1340 if i'm not mistaken.

  • You're right!

  • I work for an aerial spraing company in western nebraska, we currently have 4 Ag Cats. 3 164 A models. 2 600's and a 450, and a nice "B" model with a 600 tall tail conversion . We are considering getting 2 garrett Cats' this year.

  • @666driver what kind of helicopter did they have that sprayed to?

  • @321jdawg Hiller 12E, Google: "ag helicopters", The first two UTube clips are ours.
