I'm curious...how do these street urchins even have money to eat at a restaurant? I mean, before their overnight popularity? No ambition, lazy, ill-educated. They were worse than most of the marketed crap that passes as entertainment today.
Pretty sure these lifeforms were called "white-trash" in this era. Notice the primitive vocalizations during feeding time ( 6:10 ) This species went extinct only a few short years later, after hominus-nerdas finished college and then staked out sparse new territories.
Why the fuck was I born in 84, I wish I lived through the 70's It was so fucking bad ass. Skateboarding and Hendrix, what more do you need. Oh yea weed.
When I was 16, my friends and I used to also skateboard in drained out swimming pools, any chance we got. Motels, houses and once in deserted Pool & Jacuzzi store at night barefoot with no pads or helmets in the summer of 78', Skateboard Kings we were indeed....
:-) soooooooooooo glad i grew up in the seventies, skateboarding was my life for most of that time............loved those carefree not giving a fuck about anything days!!!!!!!!!as the saying went then LSD=London Skates Dominate................you knoooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
@akaRHELIK918 yep sure, real skateboards r still avaiable for thos who want to have fun and real skating! get a longboard or a mini version of some brands!
I love the begining. its classic 70's type special effects and music! I grew up half way through the seventies, started off riding a skate on my knees when I was two then evolved to eventually end up on my feet an so on and so on! I got to say that those first six years of my life I can never forget!
@morrocyclon I was born in '77 and started skating in '82 or '83. I still remember my first board; it was a blue, plastic 'Freeformer,' it was basicly a mini-version of the old freestyle boards, which actually have more in common with today's boards than the ramp/street decks of the 80's, in that the nose and tail are the same size. My first "real" (full-sized) board was an ALVA w/ Gullwing trucks.
@dslgunner1977 Yah I did alot of experimenting whith diffrent types of skateboards, from homemade peices of wood with skate wheels, to them plastic banana shaped skateboards, to them old cheap Bruce Lee skateboards that weighed a ton and where sold a dime a dozen at swap meets. I didnt have money to buy a pro board so I would thrash my homies boards and I think around 87 Some older skater gave me his hand me down Hosoi Street wich he chopped down five inches because I was so small.
@morrocyclon Yea, same with me. I never got any kind of "allowance" when I was growing up, like some kids did. All my boards came from a friend of mine down the street (except for my plastic 'Freeformer' and a generic 'Spectra' from Sportmart). Me and my friends used to go "garbage Picking," and we actually found alot of really cool stuff. One of my friend's older brothers buildt 10 bicycles all from various bike parts he found in the trash! We used to make go-karts too.
@morrocyclon Also, when you mentioned home-made skateboards, I remembered my first attempt at at making one when I was 7. My parents had just thrown out an old baby stroller, so I took the wheels from that and I nailed them to the sides of a 2x12(x18long) piece of wood...well, one thing I didn't take into account when I first tried it, was how easily and quickly the wheels rolled, compared to normal skateboard wheels, so I smacked my face right on the concrete! I had a jacked-up face for 3 weeks
@dslgunner1977 "Thats pretty insane bro! Them stroller wheels are pretty treacherous! The craziest thing that would come close to that was when I put some tires of a RC monster truck that I found in an alley on my OJ's 60 wheels (they fit perfect)..Whith them tires, I could ride over loose gravel and on hard dirt but the only prob was that I would lose momentum because of the traction. When we would take a break from skating concrete we would roll down dirt hills. Damn, those were the days.
@RideMyBMW You must have went to rad ass school if they showed you this in social studies! I wish I could have went to a school like that when I was a kid!
@gangsterdotorgg when i watch this and hear the guys talk, i saw wow im like that too, today no one is like me, im 16 and feel like i need a time machine, the music was better the life was better, people went outside, shit i need a time machine
Joeyorien is a kook! If Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Stacy Peralta et all didn't "invent" skateboarding as we know it, who the hell did??? One name , I dare you, you can't come up with any cus there wasn't anybody worth mentioning before these cats!!! Truly Kings!!! old fucking kook!
they didnt invent the sport it came in the 60's they were just toddlers then in the 60's man. some other guy did but it wasnt them they invented the tricks and surf manuvers only.
I remember riding on clay wheels.....one tiny pebble and it was launch time. When 'thane wheels came out we went nuts.
I was too young to go with them but my god-sister brought me to a backyard session once or twice. I came home reeking of weed and that was the last time she was allowed to babysit, hahahaha. I was 8 or 9.
@OctoBox G'day, i was a bit older so yeah I'm 49 now, and I remember those clay wheels and it amusing to report that on my current Californian Cruz Stik the wheels still lockup on a pebble! But hey ive only broken my left wrist 4 times, what the heck! Angie
@Aivopiirakka fuck yeah dude, I was born in the wrong place at the wrong time but this video and that whole lifestyle in LA in the 80s with all that skating and sweet punk /thrash bands.
The dude with the hat that's Paul constantineau they called him corn dog Sid was him at time's in the movie lords of dog town, at the end he was this kid name Dino....dino never skated with the zephyr team but corn dog was there for all the early pool session's....he later skated for g&s fiberflecks.
