so that was pretty useless. get me get this straight: to grow strawberries, you need to put them in a pot, water them, and make sure they get plenty of sun? wow! i would have never known that had I not watched this video! i was hoping for some details on growing them INDOORS.
wtf your like the worst plant treater ever!!!! how do you even know what they want or not? my freakin Farming Level is 99. foo, look me up in Runescape!
I've grown strawberries in containers indoors in the past.. However, I keep losing the plants over the winter & I'm wondering if I'm losing them because I let them flower/fruit out the yr I get the plants (I'm always impatient to eat fresh berries). I didn't know they'll grow better when crowded. Is it still recommended to remove fruits/ flowers the 1st yr, even if the label doesn't mention it? If I use transplant fert. & establish roots that way can I let it fruit the 1st yr?
I have a question.. I live in New Jersey. I own a condo so space is limited. I wanted to grow strawberries but I'm not sure if Jersey's weather is too hot or not like this lady was explianing. Also.. when do you grow them.. summer time or winter time? Sorry.. I am very new to this. Just bought my first place and wanted to get into gardening. Any help would be really appreciated. I can only do contrainer gardening though since I live in a condo. There is plenty of direct sunlight on the patio.
@OreoCookieOreo NJ should be fine, in my opion, im no expert either but i know alot- trial and error works best esp for beginners. your behavior has much to do with your plants succcess as well- - how much you tend to them and how and so on- are all key
you might be better at one thing than another
just give it a whilre i purchased 2 SB plants YEARS ago and now i have so many i have to get rid of them over and over every fall. i used them for decorative plants on my terrace/balcony -lovem
think shes talking about where its to hot or cold. calm down. why did you even comment on it if you didnt like it. i think youre useless. im sure shes helping more people then you ever will
@loymonteiro I think you can grow anything inside in the Winter. All you need is the correct temperature. You know how green house works? It keeps the temperature warm so anything can grow.
its because they generalise that to the temp there they will like either a hot humid shady spot or 70 - 80 degree direct sunlight with avereage humidity so not in a desert but not on the beach
You can plant strawberries from seed but it is difficult...I recommend getting 1 or 2 yr old plants from a nursery that sells virus-free stock (so they don't die on you from disease). There are many good online nurseries. Best of luck :)
last year i grew basil thai and i noticed that there were no bugs in the soil were i had grew them in also the earth smelled strong of basil i think i might try to make a bug repelent from this plant i was amazed how clean the soil was totally clean of bugs i had grew them in a planter

Here they say strawberry likes hot sun. In another video they say strawberries like shade. Which one is it?

You just learned an old gardener's trick...should Google "companion planting", to learn what plants grow better when basil grows beside them. :)
