Saying God COULD bring peace if we were already peaceful does not really address the question of how Jesus could be the messiah if he failed to bring peace. The OT prophecies do not simply say God CAN bring peace if he so chooses. They specifically say that when mashiach comes THERE WILL BE world peace. 2,000 years later this has still not happened. Either Isaiah & Daniel were false prophets or they were referring to a future event which has yet to take place.
The New Testament writers had access to old Testament writings so it's easy to fill in some prophecies. Others like World Peace, which can't just be "written in" can not be faked: He will rule at a time of worldwide peace - "...they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)
Also: Rule at a time when everybody believes in and serves one God (the same one).
He will rule at a time when all people will come to acknowledge and serve one God - "And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me, says the Lord" (Isaiah 66:23)
With hundreds of thousands of religions that believe in sever or different or NO God, this will never be fulfilled.

Jesus isn't the messiah.
His genealogy doesn't fit the requirements for the messiah.
He didn't fulfill many important messianic prophecies.
