@razercord I find the music good, all included. I have a happy life and I listen to far more suicidial, morbid, cruel and dark music than this. Music like this (and the sort I just mentioned) makes me realize that my personal hardships aren't that bad and actually cheers me up, because it makes me imagine far worse situations. You might find that odd, but that is the reason along with the fact that the music itself is awesome. Death is the natural sideeffect of life, why not talk about it?

@razercord I never said that life shouldn't be productive, if you thought I meant that it was a mistake on my part for not being clear enough. Death is a taboo for most people, I on the other hand like to discuss that taboo with people as I find the topic interresting. I do not believe in the afterlife, so I do what I can to live my life to the fullest. And the images these songs create have their own beauty, I think death is beautiful and sad, so you could say I like the dark aspects of life.

I'm pretty new to Shades of God, having only heard it 3 or so times, and I must say, this album has perhaps some of the best vocals work on any of their albums. I mean, here on this song, the vocals are aggressive, but at the same time melancholic to the point of completely breaking down from despair. Across all their albums, I never heard Nick sing quite like he does on this song. It's awesome, really.

At the same time, My Dying Bride's influences were Dead Can Dance and Fields of the Nephilim.

This means that PL and MDB were influenced by Goth.
