@DevLcL - You are right that it did get a little better over time. I wasn't able to completely submerge it though. There was a bubble trap I could have bought. I sold this tank and entire set-up though. Overall the CPR BakPak 2 worked well and pulled out a good deal of skimate, but I will try a different skimmer in the future I think.
I know this video is old, and you probably figured it out by now.. but shouldn't the outlet be completely submerged? Also, I know there is a 'break-in' period. How does it work now?
it 20 bucks for the bubble trap though if yer not will to spend lift the return pipe up or down so the water coming out is level with your tank water....thats about all you can do... im still fighting my bubbles a litle
hey, I have the bak pak 2R and I just have a question. Is the water that is returning to the tank supposed to have more current/force to it? I mean the skimmer is doing it's job getting stuff out of the tank but it just seems the water returning to the tank is just weak.
I had the same problem, try adjusting the air intake al the way open, until it is broken in, then adjust it in the middle for maximum skim. I think my pump is going out, what pump is on there, a MAXI JET 1200????
mine does the same this just need the bubble trap and it could b e because it hast to break in

good idea with the heater in the bak pak.......mine has bio bale so it traps the bubbles more

i had the same problem but i got a bubble trap for it its a box that covers the return pipe and hold about 90% of yer bubbles

Have you tried the modified Accela pump by CPR? I think it works so much better than Maxi Jet 1200.
