Saw these guys in 1983. Can you say LIFE CHANGING? They were amazing. Sounded horrible, rocked out, changed my life. They would start to play a song, the crowd would start to dance, and they'd stop playing, just to piss us off. It was perfectly perfect.

It's from, I think, a SF public access show taped in January 1983. The interview conducted with the band after they'd played a few songs was notorious -- like watching paint dry, or so a lot of people thought. I wish to hell I had a copy of the whole show. I don't think it's gone to DVD, except for one song on a Target release. Too bad. It's one of the greatest goddamned rock & roll documents of all time!

punk in the U.S was different from punk in england. most of all because punk in the US would later be an influence for hardcore.

I remember this kid I'd pal around with in the mid 90s playing this. It didn't take much for me to realize that the majority of the "hard" music I was listening to at the time was detritis. Flipper changed all of this and I'm grateful for that.
