Saw these guys in 1983. Can you say LIFE CHANGING? They were amazing. Sounded horrible, rocked out, changed my life. They would start to play a song, the crowd would start to dance, and they'd stop playing, just to piss us off. It was perfectly perfect.
the name of the record is generic flipper you can find it on ebay although it's gonna cost you some pretty heavy coin bro and gone fishin as well as their entire catalog is out of print except blow'n'chunks live @cbgb thanksgiving of 1983
I need the Studio Version of this!!!! Please someone send me it or tell me where i can get it, i cant find the album "Gone Fishin" anywhere only Generic Fisher
It's from, I think, a SF public access show taped in January 1983. The interview conducted with the band after they'd played a few songs was notorious -- like watching paint dry, or so a lot of people thought. I wish to hell I had a copy of the whole show. I don't think it's gone to DVD, except for one song on a Target release. Too bad. It's one of the greatest goddamned rock & roll documents of all time!
early 80's, Tenderloin SF, at the Sound of Music - best of show for Flipper and I saw them 10 or more times. Ah, that brings me way back... thanks for posting
@ellclassico right on with that thought fashion is what ruins band that have no musical entity that why flipper still rules man fuck mohawks and spur spiked boots with bandanas wrapped around them ripped jeans with a t-shirt all faded and worn with dirty grimey sneakers with holes in em was a thing that came from being poor
Does this tape contain a performance of "Life" (or whatever it's called -- "life's the only thing worth living for...")? You should upload more if at all possible, I'd be grateful...
I remember this kid I'd pal around with in the mid 90s playing this. It didn't take much for me to realize that the majority of the "hard" music I was listening to at the time was detritis. Flipper changed all of this and I'm grateful for that.
the 2 haters are definitely brainwashed and they don't understand anyway

@ellclassico all that "multi-coloured mohawk shit" comes from england's '77 punk.
punk in the U.S was different from punk in england. most of all because punk in the US would later be an influence for hardcore.
