  • 0:57 was that a robowiener??

  • When I was 16, I paid money to see this in the theater.

  • Is That Reanimator's Robert Sampson??

  • @JMDNelson Not sure, but I do know that Jeffrey Combs (Dr. West) is in the movie as a civilian spectator during the first fight.

  • BATTLETECH...done wrong!

  • @harveydents I thought it was a good precursor for them to actually do a movie like that. That and Mechwarrior

  • Hugh Jackman's new movie, Real Steel, totally rips off from this all-time classic cinematic masterpiece.

  • brilliant movie back in the day.

  • Chris Crespo what up dawg

  • Trailer of the day!

  • Real Steel ripped off this move.

  • ....Comparing the b movies to modern movies, i now concur that most modern stuff suck.

  • loved it when i was a kid. how do you know if youre hardcore? when your wang is a chainsaw

  • Wemade a short film called RoboWarrior. It has a similar theme and plot and also has stop motion. Check out on our channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Robot Sux

  • so this is where they got the idea to make gundam.

  • @travisbrummett

Mobile Suit Gundam (AKA Gundam 0079): 1979

    Robot Jox: 1990

Unless you're suggesting Tomino (creator of Gundam) had time-traveling technology back in 1979.

  • Best Mech movie ever!@# nothing will ever top it unless Uwe Boll partners with M. Night Shyamalan to remake Robot Jox!

    -grin-

  • Oh my GOsH!!!!

  • you are fukin kidding me its that hugo weaving

  • Loved this movie when I was little. Watched it recently and mainly just find it laughable but I still love it.

  • Robot jokes....

  • i was young probably just a teenager when i saw this video at the local video rental ,and i thought the box cover looked pretty good,so i thought i would give it a try. i got laughed at when i rented it but i still liked it. still holds up till this day.

  • Chainsaw genitals, hehe. Well, in Chrono trigger, Lavos have breast lasers. hahaXp.

  • @SmokingSpoon respect for mentioning chrono trigger. Good game that.

  • A rotary saw cock-why Real Steel will never be as cool as this movie.

  • this movie was da bomb when I saw it when I wa 10.

  • loved it. Man...1990 awesome

  • @uriel30 Indeed. I have a lot of great memories of some great B-movies back between 1990 and 1993. This was definitely near the top of the list!

  • awwwww reminds me of the old days!! ne one else seen 'crash and burn' and 'arena'???

  • what a republican would say.---> "what a waste of money and resources. Is this what my tax dollars are going to?"

  • I love this movie. The old-school, stop motion robot effects were very well done. They don't make'em like this anymore!

  • That actually looks really fun to watch.

  • @jericoparazo

My bad. I had assumed that you were using the phrase "powered suits" in the same way that the average anime fan does.

    Forgive me for the misunderstanding.

  • @jericoparazo

Well, yeah, if you're talking about stuff on the scale of a personal exoskeleton, it's definitely workable. But that's a far, far, FAR cry from "MECHWARRIOR FTW!!!", and it's completely irrelevant in a discussion about such things.

  • @jericoparazo

How so? A Japanese company actually MAKES them right now, but their walking speed tops out at a blistering 3 MpH. They can't even lift their feet.

Haven't you heard of the inverse square law? When you make something bigger, you make it heavier proportionally. Barring some future technology that defies literally everything that we know about kinetic energy (and, no, this isn't an "Airplanes used to be 'impossible', too!" situation), any "powered suit" would be immobile.

  • I saw this in the theater with my brother when I was kid

  • @donnellmck same here, in a theater with my brother when I was a kid. lol

  • omg this brings back memories

  • Every kid has to watch this!

  • Giant chainsaw robot cox at 0:57

  • im going to get in this thing and kick your BOOOOOM!!!

  • I used to watch this every day when I was a kid. really pissed off my mom LOL :)

  • and if not mechs atleast space stations and space fighters

  • What was Stuart Gordon thinking ?

  • this movie is so good! MECHWARRIOR FTW!!! wont be long till we have mechs in real combat we already got remote control drones and computer controlled machine gun turrets lets up the anti to some assault chassis... u cant drive tanks over mountains but you can sure as hell jumpjet mechs over them.

  • @MrA292

As cool as they are, we'll never have mechs "in real combat"; at least, not the kind that they have in Mechwarrior. The impracticalities and weaknesses of bipedal movement on ANY scale, let alone that of a 50-foot-tall robot suit, far outweigh any possible advantages in mobility (and, taking real-world engineering considerations into account, even those are exceedingly limited). Jump jets are even less workable.

  • Great stuff!

  • Theres something about massive stop motion robots that just makes me feel all warm inside :D this movie looks pretty awesome

  • I don't know, but is 'goofy' a fair characterization? Is all science fiction goofy? I've seen some real crap on the sci fi channel, this was pretty good. I rented this, and my son, who was five at the time, and I, had a great time watching it. He referenced it in conversations for years afterward. Dude, It was entertaining. I mean, what else do you want from a sci-fi movie? We don't really have giant robot fighting machines. Thanks for posting it, though. I had forgotten all about this flick.

  • @gunslingrr6

Reducing science fiction to lasers and explosions does the genre a great disservice. Watch Blade Runner or read the works of Isaac Asimov to see what the genre's really about.

  • I used to love this movie when I was a kid.

  • this was my movie when I was a kid

  • whats the name for the song thats in this trailer half way in?

  • I never saw this film;

Can you tell me if it's worth it or not find it on DVD?

  • @boterjayer i would pay like 5eur for it :) btw i recommend you APEX as well, i wish there was more movies like these are. entertaining.

  • @ajpoz

    Hello, thanks for writing me.

You are right, APEX is fantastic movie.

    Such films are fun.

    See you soon.

  • You know what the best part of this movie is? How often can you tell somebody that you just watched a movie about a giant robot with spider legs and a chainsaw penis? It's an awesome conversation to have.

  • not bad!

gotta see this... seems to me that it has more personality than transformers ;)

  • Hahahahaah buzzsaw on the crotch and the other pilot control is a defibrilator.....stupid movie

  • This guy is the actor who plays agent smith from matrix, isn't he?

  • This was supposed to be ROBO JOX until Orion threatened a lawsuit.

  • the soundtrack in this trailer is better than the one in the actual movie

  • chainsaw dick ftw

  • Awesome movie.

  • Na.. ! Ez az igazi "zs" kategória gyerekek !

    :-D

  • This actually looks pretty cool, i should rent this.

  • @kendo207 Do it my friend. robot jox was one of my favorite movies when i was a wee lad. it kicks more ass then you can imagine. if it had tom cruise or some shit as leading role it would have been a huge movie.

  • I loved this when i was a kid, and like this even now (im 23). Anyone knows more movies like this? Old ones? ;>

  • @PolishRonin ever watched krull? lolol

  • Hmm... Kinda like Rocky IV but with robots...

  • @senorverde09 I must break you... r robot.

  • I loved this movie when I was 10.

  • I did too, actually.

  • I still love it now when I am 20

  • th1s movi3 - you can watch it for free online g @ MOOV ZON, COM just google for the link above

  • :49 "Go back to where you came from, Jamaica"

  • Touche, Sled God.

  • @Mckwaa

I disagree. I really like Robot Jox in earnest.

  • can someone help me there was a mobie about a game robot that one family bought and they putting disks or what ever IDK it happend momently that the robot was desinged to be a combat machine and started killing the whole family till the end the robot was pushed in a pool(i think)but he was using difrent things suck as forks, spoons, plates eaven lasers and a machinegun etc. the robot was little and offten repeats the word "let's play"the robot was movablesorry for my english im bulgarian pls help

  • Sounds more like a horror movie than a sci-fi drama.

  • One of, if not the best giant mech robot movie ever made.

  • "Alexander I yield.....I YIELD!!!"*Alexander "hahahaha footstomp"

'ACHILLES!!! I Already KEEL U RITE HERE"

Just two of the very quoteable lines from this movie its cheesy now days, but like army darkness its become a cult hit for mech/robot fans, if you dont take it seriously (who would take giant robots seriously?) then its quite an enjoyable movie, either way I loved it.

  • Robot Jox was the shit I remember watching this when I was 10 or 11, great stuff, I bought it on DVD recently, its cheesy as hell now, but in away that makes it great still, plus the fx back then were great, plus it started my love for giant robots which rule!!

  • any robot that has a chainsaw for a penis is awesome in my opinion.

out of a lot of B movies they had back then, this one was actually pretty entertaining.

  • I believe that there was a nuclear war that destroyed most of this civilization and now this is how wars are fought and disputes settled. One of the best "Robot Jox" of one country goes up against the best "Robot Jox" of the opposing country. Whichever wins the fight wins whatever was in dispute. It's been quite sometime since I've watched this movie. I remember when it first came out on Cinimax way back when.

  • I watched this movie a while ago. Awesomely bad, but I love it.

At :58 beware of the giant quadraped robot coming after you with a chainsaw dong.

  • Yeah, that is so fuckin cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would have like this film if there was less talking more robots!

  • Well, you all shouldn`t classify the movie as "dumb' or "goofy".

For the time it was a good sci-fi/action movie with descent effects and acting crew, attractive mostly for the teens. How many of you don`t want to "drive" such thing in the real live, huh?

  • This was the cheesiest film ever, it's enjoyable able because it is so laughably bad. 'ACHILLES!"

  • looooks pretty cooooooooooooool for a 1900 movie ...... if anyone here likes tf , the red one looks like titanium jetfire

  • What's up whit the boner saw?

  • i know it thought that too

  • I've seen this movie when I was 8 or so and I thought it was amazing, but it looks kinda crappy now... Still, better than transformers.

  • did that robot have a buzz saw for a penis??? 0.0

  • that is the same as what i thought

  • ha, this looks positively brimming with stilton. gonna have to check this out!

@TruenoandLevin86: if you don't count the japanese mecha from the 70's that is.

  • Arena?

  • Anyone remembers that 90s movie that copied bloodsport except it was fought by aliens, cyborgs, and humans?

  • You know I have vague memories of such a film, I thought it was just my imagination, but now i see someone else mention it, I know it must be real, will have to go look for it now.

  • Did you ever find out which movie it was? Interested...

  • Shiiiit, I used to watch this movie every day when I was like 5, damn.

  • What did he say "I'm gonna kick YOUR..." , there was an explosion and I couldnt hear it all.

  • "Im Gonna Kick Your ASS" thats what he says, the last fight in here was so cool, they go to outer space and then back to earth and then carry on fighting it was a true end of battle stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • no it wasn't, but it was still good

  • Actually, there was a Transformers animated movie before this...just wanted to letcha know =)

  • so who cares

  • i need to buy this...on vhs no less.

  • I remember wanting to see this, but I never did.

    Was I saved, or cursed?

  • Yeah this was the start of my mecha love!! I've been looking to get a copy of this full movie somewhere. The search continues...

  • wow the guy who announces these movies has been around for awhile.

  • Sadly, Don LaFontaine died in late 2008. Though, his legendary voice will indeed live on forever.

Thanks for upping this trailer, LukeOfTheDead. I posted my VHS scan on my blog recently, and just had to include this. :)

  • with this film i fall in love of mecha!!! 1992!!!

  • whoa thats crazy , where did u even get this from? I think this was the first time I ever saw a movie in the theater i was about 6 or 7 years old atthe time.
