  • Can someone explain to me the steps I would have to take to become a gast. starting from after I get out of medical school?

And can someone tell me what types of classes I would have to take for this in college and possibly in medical school too?

  • @nathanlurie I'm a pre-med looking at gastroenterology. During your undergraduate years in college, you will need two semesters each of English, mathematics, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and physics, in addition to a normal curriculum. Aim for a 3.5 or higher GPA. You will also need to take the MCAT and do a lot of other stuff, too, like volunteer and shadow physicians. Medical school is four years, residency is three years, and further specialization is two years. Good luck.

  • @DreamWeaver1988 thank you.

  • Hey there, Just wanted to tell you not to stress yourself out. That is the worse thing you can do. I know that it is scary but it will be ok. Stress only makes things worse. Know that you r in the hands of professionals and they will take care of you. The field of Gastroenterology is improving w new techniques and technology every day. Hope you keep your head up and that all goes well
