hey david i was wondering what that sign in the background is called. You know "the office" one. I've been trying to find it for my brother on ebay but when i search in "the office sign" only a bunch of signed posters come up. Can you help me out please?
Great video Dave, i had the wired apple aluminum keyboard but some how it broke i think it's bc it was wired and if i traveled i had to wined up the cord and i think the cords broke inside the wire so idk right now i'm using the microsoft arc keyboard i miss my apple keyboard i think if i get another one i'll go with bluetooth
Why would you get that keyboard? lol, Look up the Logitech DiNovo Edge, they have a version for Windows and Mac. This keyboard lasts a month on a single 2 hour charge and looks absolutely amazing.
@thecreativeone But you'd pay thousands for a shiny computer that in all reality should be half the price. I see your logic here. I guess the problem with the DiNovo Edge keyboard, is that it doesn't have an Apple logo on it.
@BlindMangoTV You obviously don't understand the logic of the Mac Pro. Any comparable machine on the PC side will cost just as much. Look for a dual Xeon workstation with an all aluminum case without a single wire, and it will cost just as much as a Mac Pro. Paying a lot for a computer and paying a lot for a keyboard are two different things. It's not about Apple Logo's, but now that you've brought it up, that logo represents true quality and genius design. I have this keyboard, and it's great!
@cpukid00 Where are you buying your PC's? Every PC I have seen with the same specs as any Mac has usually been around half the price. There are no doubt companies here and there that think they can overcharge for their hardware for no reason, but that's why it's nice to be able to purchase from hundreds of types, models, and brands. If you build a PC yourself, it could cost nearly 1/3 the price of a Mac.
17" Alienware = $1,600 vs. 17" Macbook Pro = $2,500
The Macbook pro is better becouse it runs an apple OS. Apple has the best mobile and desktop/laptop OS. Becouse the hardware and software are made by the same company, they are optimized exclusively for each other. Also, apple laptops are made out of an aluminium uniboby carved from one single block of steel.
Alienware laptops are made from plastic. not cheap plastic (I've used an Alienware laptop) but it does not stack up to the macbook pros build quality and operating system.
@Alantgv So are you saying an aluminum unibody and OS software justify the $900 price difference in the same exact hardware? I certainly hope not. Even if the OS may be optimized better, at those specs, the speed differences between both operating systems aren't a noticable difference anyway, buy a PC that's better optimized. And with either computer, if it falls off a table and hits a hard surface, they will both dent, chip, etc. That may justify a $100 higher price, but DEFINITELY not $900.
Some people will be willing to pay 900$ for a better OS and build quality. The 17" macbook pro is designed for the professional who puts software and build quality above price. Many creative pros are employed my huge super rich companies like Disney, so money is not an issue for them. Thats why they go with the 17" Macbook pro/Mac pro.
And besides, Alienware laptops/desktops are gaming PCs, not workstation PCs like the 17" Macbook pro/Mac pro.
@Alantgv Whoever wants to pay nearly ONE THOUSAND dollars just for a "better OS" (opinion) and "build quality" is nothing but an absolute idiot. Maybe $100 extra would be more feasible, not $1,000. I'm just trying to bring to light how people are being ripped off by the Mac's exaggerated price for the same hardware. And "creative pros" and "super rich" people wouldn't give a crap about price, but NORMAL people would. It doesn't matter what the laptops are advertised towards, it's the SAME SPECS.
"Normal' people would not buy the 17" macbook pro becouse it is expensive. "Normal" people would not buy an Alienware PC becouse they are not well known in the consumer market. You have to understand the difference between a consumer and a professional. Apple is taking advantage of the fact that for creative pros, money is not an issue. Apple prices there consumer laptops very reasonably. Most people cant afford $2500 for a laptop, but they can afford a 13" macbook pro ($1200)
@Alantgv Facepalm*...You DO realize I'm not JUST talking about the 17" Macbook Pro .. right? It's basically ANY Mac you can compare with ANY PC with the same exact specs, and 99% of the time, the PC will ALWAYS be close to half the price! The Alienware and the Macbook Pro are an example. This is what I'm saying, Apple rips you off with their computer prices because people who buy them justify the extremely inflated price with the Apple logo included, or being built for "creative pros" (WHAT BS!)
@Alantgv and are you basically admitting too that Apple knows that everyone who buys their computer is "rich" and can THROW money out of their pockets and have Apple suck it all up, and you're basically saying since their consumers don't care about price, they PURPOSELY bump it up almost ONE THOUSAND dollars for no apparent reason? What the hell are you saying? It doesn't make sense! What you said does not justify the price at all! This is just a load of BS to explain the inflated price rate!
Its a business. Apple's main goal is to make money and thats what they do. Thats everyones goal. The fact that apple products are more expensive yet people still buy them says that whatever apple is doing, its working. Apple are marketing genius's and you cannot deny that.
@Alantgv Oh, so now your excuse for the $900 difference is "it's a business" ... but at least you now have come to the realization that Apple rips-off their customers when it comes to the Mac now, congratulations. PC companies already make a healthy amount of money selling their hardware, and Apple CERTAINLY makes extreme amount of money from their hardware. There's a difference from doing business tactics and completely ripping off your blind sheep of customers. Apple does this with the Mac.
I understand what you mean, but you do realise that the DiNovo edge keyboard does not have mac support. David (thecreativeone) will use windows when hell freezes over.
@Alantgv Last time I saw, there was an official Mac edition sold by Logitech, maybe the sales didn't do good for the Mac and they don't sell those anymore? idk.
@thecreativeone I'm not trying to hate, geez. I'm just saying that the iMac/Macbookpro, etc, are all overpriced. Well, every Apple product is overpriced for that matter...
@M4tth2w1 "something you would have on your laptop" ?? isn't that also called a keyboard?? If you're talking about the track pad on it, that's worth it for me since my PC is hooked up to my TV. I'm just simply mentioning better alternative wireless keyboards to him, which he doesn't care about because again, it's not made by Apple.
@BlindMangoTV k750 mac never pay for energy for your keyboard price? 60 bucks seems like a good deal or buy the mac version that is way more durable made from aluminum 150 for a keyboard is alot bro it's like buying a super car when you can just use a reg car 2 get food from the store lol
i really hate the layout of that keyboard, everything is cramped. this was def a downgrade for you but it was the polite thing to do as it was a gift.
I really wonder if Apple will ever update the keyboard.. Like a wireless full sized keyboard.. Or backlit keyboards :D They've been around for so long and they've been amazing all the time.. I really wonder if they'll update them at all
I dont have a mac, but I love the styles of their keyboard and mouses. Can I use a apple keyboard for windows or is there any keyboard that looks similar to apple's but is made for windows?
love apples keyboards; I've been through 6 pc keyboards of various brands and prices in the time I've had 1 apple keyboard; the apple one still works great.
Oh I forget to mention .. it's really bad compared keyboard compared to other brands. In quality and of course price. Shiny. Not useful. Wireless. Unreliable.
@ClearlyBalkan Actually, this is a highly rated keyboard in its class. And how is it unreliable? This is the second negative comment I've seen from you today. Either you're insecure about yourself, or you just have too much time on your hands.
@thecreativeone He is a kid who can't afford Apple products, so whats the next best thing? Annoy people who work hard on buying Apple products. Sadly there is an epidemic of these kinds of people but don't worry David your awesome.
Fantastic video David as always! I too have an Apple Wireless Keyboard, I just haven't gotten to connecting it to my iMac yet. The funny this is though, I bought it in 2010! Hopefully I'll get around to activating it soon!
I finally made the switch to mac by getting a 13" Macbook Pro (late 2009) im so glad i did! Even tho they are over priced, ive come to realize they're totally worth the extra money!
The Apple Wireless Keyboard is my favourite keyboard and I'm a Windows user. It's so comfortable, and despite what Apple says, compatibility with Windows is amazing!
you post this today and seriously today my wireless apple keyboard is going insane. the shift key isn't working and sometimes the arrow keys push themselves 0.0
I dont understand how this can be the BEST keyboard? looks so fragile? maybe best keyboard for recreational use, but def not for gaming, wait this comment is useless, you use an apple computer, gaming does not exist in apples vocab.
@karolineczkaaa Reselling them. Things sell for more when you have the original box in good condition, and Apple stuff tends to resell for a good amount as it is, so it's just icing on the cake. Plus, compared to most other boxes you get, they're really nicely designed and it feels like a waste to throw something like that away.
Great video, David! I've been using my Apple wireless keyboard for a year and a half now and I love it. As a side note, the battery life is great. Using regular AA batteries from Duracell or Energizer, I usually only have to change them like 3-4 times a year. That's a huge difference considering I have to change the batteries on my Magic Mouse almost every month.
i dont see why you would use a wireless keyboard for a MacPro. and even when it takes a lot of things off. What i would do is use the wireless hardware for the Mac Mini or your iPad 2 and use the wired keyboard for the desktop since you the desktop doesn't move and the Mac Mini is a computer you can use from your bed or the floor. and also lets say your typing something thats really important and your batteries die. for my MacPro i use the wired and a non- Apple mouse since i do gaming with it
I like a wireless keyboard, but I just can not give up my number pad. I have a MacBook Pro and when its on my desk I always have my Apple Wired Keyboard plugged in for the number pad.
Nice Video David. I just bought the wired keyboard this year. It is a great keyboard, and the aluminum makes it really solid. Enjoy the wireless keyboard!
Not to be random or anything. But, today I had a sub, and I swear, it was Kristin. She looked exactly like her! Then I started daydreaming that she was introducing her brother, (you obviously), and I was freaking out. It was so creepy!
I love apple but my Powermac G5 has been the most unreliable computer ever it dose everything great accept first it was the graphics card now the power supply...i need to buy myself a newer mac (i have mostly been a windows user all my life) i love them both because they are both creative in their own way (but if i could afford an apple id love it the most)
@EmoGhostProductions Well, to be fair they did stop making those things like 6 years ago, and what you described is just general wear and tare, parts fail as time goes on. The GPU may be one of the dodgy ones though, not Apples fault, but the GPU makers. Around that time NVIDIA had a lot of quality control issues, and ATI had a few too (no where near as bad as NVIDIA though). It also depends where and how they're used of course.
@spacetrooperman buying something that expensive you just have to go for it, because like me you'll spend countless hours searching on the internet to see if its really worth it. btw it is

I dont understand how this can be the BEST keyboard? looks so fragile? maybe best keyboard for recreational use, but def not for gaming, wait this comment is useless, you use an apple computer, gaming does not exist in apples vocab.

Why in the world would you feel the need to keep mac boxes...like what use ever would it come to?!
karolineczkaaa 1 month ago
@karolineczkaaa Reselling them. Things sell for more when you have the original box in good condition, and Apple stuff tends to resell for a good amount as it is, so it's just icing on the cake. Plus, compared to most other boxes you get, they're really nicely designed and it feels like a waste to throw something like that away.

MrLngboarder 1 month ago
Great video, David! I've been using my Apple wireless keyboard for a year and a half now and I love it. As a side note, the battery life is great. Using regular AA batteries from Duracell or Energizer, I usually only have to change them like 3-4 times a year. That's a huge difference considering I have to change the batteries on my Magic Mouse almost every month.
tsupra0927 1 month ago
i dont see why you would use a wireless keyboard for a MacPro. and even when it takes a lot of things off.

Not to be random or anything. But, today I had a sub, and I swear, it was Kristin. She looked exactly like her! Then I started daydreaming that she was introducing her brother, (you obviously), and I was freaking out. It was so creepy!

I love apple but my Powermac G5 has been the most unreliable computer ever it dose everything great accept first it was the graphics card now the power supply...i need to buy myself a newer mac (i have mostly been a windows user all my life) i love them both because they are both creative in their own way (but if i could afford an apple id love it the most)
EmoGhostProductions 1 month ago
@EmoGhostProductions Well, to be fair they did stop making those things like 6 years ago, and what you described is just general wear and tare, parts fail as time goes on. The GPU may be one of the dodgy ones though, not Apples fault, but the GPU makers. Around that time NVIDIA had a lot of quality control issues, and ATI had a few too (no where near as bad as NVIDIA though). It also depends where and how they're used of course.

@TalesOfWar Well your right but i bought it and it was supposed to have been refurbished so....its more on Gainsavers part to be honest

@spacetrooperman buying something that expensive you just have to go for it, because like me you'll spend countless hours searching on the internet to see if its really worth it. btw it is
