  • Wow, the trees and house remind me a little of the Boston area

  • Czech do not upload much. I can't find this song with mp3 and etc...

    Hope more and better quality

  • is there another version of this song like a much clearer one? and are the volumes on this video appropriate? cuz i think it makes it sound more dramatic this way.

  • Wowie. The sound quality on this makes it sound like a record. Makes it twice as better

  • Bracia Czesi, piękna i wzruszająca ludowa piosenka!

    Pozdrowienia z Polski!

  • I'm half czech and half south african and I lOVE czech folk music!!!

  • Sorry guys...i read some comments here...

and i think its so stupid to differenciate people because of where they are coming from...

for me there is no first and second class people...so sensless

i have lots of international friends and sure czechs, slowakians, russians etc. are nice but serbians, croats and all the others too.

Its so stupid trying to seperate peoples..and i am quite happy that there are enough people who know that..nd the rest GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER!!!!

  • very nice music ..

    I love it ..

share more song next time ..ok

  • Pane Kralíku, do you have the words to this beautiful song?

  • this is a very poetic and beautiful music . It's a pity that some people show their nationalistic ideology , which drives to fascism , though folk music drives to fraternity between people . I am from France and I love slavic music but I hate all nationalisms .

  • Marvelous

  • This makes me so proud of my Czech heritage. :) My great-grandmother was Czech and she was gifted in beauty, talent, and intelligence. Czechs are truly a blessed people and I am proud of my Czech ancestors!

  • Super! Ten charakterystyczny dryg. Pozdrowienia z Slezkeho Beskidu

  • I'M FROM CZECH AND I THINK THAT IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU ARE! RUSSIAN CZECH POLISH SERBIAN BOSNIAN CROATIAN UKRAINIAN OR SLOVAKIAN! WE'RE JUST PEOPLE - SLAVIC PEOPLE - CATHOLIC ORTHODOKS OR MUSLIM WE'RE JUST PEOPLE!

  • Czechs are beautiful and civilized people !

Czech Rep. and Slovakia splitted up overnight

    PEACEFULLY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

While those Ugly and Stinky Yugoslav Gypsy

    Pigs were killing each other for years ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • This song sounds so unbelievable familiar to me.

  • Heeey !! tohle ale není Český Folk !!

  • I love Czech Rep. I hope that I'll go on university there and have a chance to meet my slavic brothers. Greetz from Bosnia, Republika Srpska!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrKnightOFYugoslavia

Do NOT compare Gold to Shit !

    Czechs are Europeans !

    Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, Fyromians are

Ugly and Stinky Gipsies with an Inferior DNA . . .

All Yugoslavs are technically Turks and Roma anyway....

  • @lambrenagym First of all thank for your compliments about our turkish and roma heritage. As it is widely known, algebra, astrology, astronomy, blackpowder and many other inventions are deeply related with the eastern culture. Thank you again for comparing us to gypsies. As we all know, gypsies are indo-european people just like slavs and germans. They live in allmost every country due to the fact they were entertainers what makes their effort noble. Respect to democratic and open-minded people!

  • @lambrenagym

I have a mixed heritage, of serbian, czechish and hungarian blood.

I'm blonde, white skinned and blue eyed!!!

And I'm more then proud of my mixed blood, and call me a "gypsy slav" if you want,

but you know what, I don't care! I love my ancestors, and the nationalities I originated from, and I would do anything to defend their honor and good name from the likes of you!

I AM, WHAT I AM! AND IM PROUD OF THAT!!!

  • Beautiful music!

  • @AmyLuAnne Na tom jsi byla KDE?

  • @killyourego1983

I'm sorry, but anyone who writes to me has to speak English in order for me to understand. Other languages are beautiful, but I'm afraid I am limited. (smile)

  • Moc se mi líbí české lidové písně

  • hi. can anyone here help me with differentiating between czech and russian folk music? I can't seem to tell them apart... just leave a reply or post on my profile. thanks in advance :)

  • @fannatic19

Yes, I can help. Czech folk music has a lot more Hungarian and Austrian influence in it. There is even a touch of Celtic influence, (from old tribes in Bohemia), as well as a lot of German styles. from what I can tell, the particular song you are listening to is very much influenced by Hungarian music.

Russian folk music has some similarities to Czech music, but I would say that there isn't as much Hungarian and German/Austrian influence in Russian music.

  • @AmyLuAnne It is more ideology than ethnology, what you write about Celtic influence. I dont speak good english, but I can say: Czech folk music has something common with other slavic nations. But in Bohemia is a lot of German influences and in Moravia of Hungarian influences. For Bohemia is typical superiority of 3/4 or 3/8 bar and major scale. For east Slavic nations is typical superiority of minor scale and 2/4 bar.

  • Nějak mi tu chybí originální text :) To je samá obecná čeština. :)

    Hdyž sem kovál koníčky

Hdyž jsem kovál koníčky, bul sem hu svý Hančičky.

Nechtíla mňe demů pustít, haž neburů vjezdičky.

Vjezdičky huž nebuly, ha já říkám svý mjilý :

Poj má mjilá vyprovoj mňe, vyprovoj mňe na míli.

  • can someone translate the title of the song into English? I recently visited the Czech Republic and it captured my heart, what a beautiful country and I know that my feet will carry me back someday

  • Very beautiful the czech folk!

  • Pozdrowienia z Polski :))))

  • Very beautiful Thank you so much.

  • Bhù qì tra nguyên nhí ro thăng xié qung. Jiá kim ling buo phú rè xiâo wo hén nhaò.

  • this czech song sounds so slavic

  • Lol. Do you realise before it was Czech Republic, it was Czechoslovakia?

  • @teshanovic1

There are 2 Categories of SLAVS !

    1) The Superior White Nordic Slaves

    Russians - Poles - Czechs - Slovaks - Ukrainians

    2) The Inferior Gipsy Southern Slavs

    Serbians - Croatians - Bosniaks - Fyromians

  • @teshanovic1 -_- its all slavic....

  • Thank you so much for posting this. =) Wish I could learn the lyrics.

  • Lovely song and authentic performance. Dekuju mockrat!

  • Very nice music

    Greetings from Slovenia

  • Děkujeme za nahrání této písně.

Chtěla bych se dívat na další písničky.

    Jsem srílanské:)

  • Ty jsi ze Srí Lanky? Jak to že umíš tak dobře česky? :)

  • Ano. I am a Srí Lanky. Jsem se dozvěděl, české a slovenské. :)

  • My 3rd grade orchestra students are studying Antonín Dvořák so I was looking for examples of Czech folk music that might be like some that inspired some of his compositions and I happened across this. LOVELY! Thank you for sharing. If you could let me know any other background on this song - how old is it? What region does it come from? It's just beautiful.

  • Thanks. How old is it? I´d say nobody knows, but it has been part of collections of 19th century songs. It comes from region aroun Plzeň (Pilsen), western Bohemia.

  • beautiful song!!!! thanks for the lyrics

  • two words: amazing and beautiful :)

    greetings to Czech Republic

  • is there a studio recording of this song?

  • Kak podkovival ja konika

    byl ja u svoýey Hanichki,

    Poka bili zvezdochki....

    (adopted russian version)

    P.S. Evil Hannichka ^-(

  • any chance of a translation into English or German? Would really appretiate that. Thanks.

  • A very rough translation:

When I was shoeing the horses,

I was at my Anna's place,

she did not want to let me go

while there are still stars shining.

    When we were saying goodbye,

    there were no stars anymore,

I am saying to my love,

see me off for a while.

  • thank you so much, really appreciate it :)

  • Very nice!

Prahra is a very nice city, the most beautiful city in Europe, it has many very beeautiful and old buildings, many more than my own beautiful city, København (Copenhagen).

We have a beautiful town, but Prauge is just at bit prittier!

  • beautiful. nice sounding language. just been to Prague and it really is as beautiful as everyone says.

  • I love this song even if i dont understand the text. I hope to hear more of this band. What is its name and where do they come from?

  • Does anyone have the Lyrics in English please?

  • it would be nice to have the lyrics for this in czech

  • Když sem koval koníčky,

    byl sem u svý Hančičky,

    nechtěla mě domů pustit,

    až nebudou hvězdičky.

    Hvězdičky už nebyli,

    a já říkám svý milý,

    pojď má milá vyprovoď mě,

    vyprovoď mě na chvíli.

  • chears

  • now i'm at a it of a loose end. i can't seem to write down the music.

  • to hrajem !! nejlepší písnička !!!

  • I'd love to visit the home of my great grandfathers some time...also to learn the language. That'd be good.

  • moc pjekne !!!!

  • krásná písnička!!!

  • Velice pěkná melodie. Moc pěkné.

  • Did not understand. But seems good

I've heard czech folk when I was on vacations at Olomouc. Wonderful country and music as well.

  • So that´s good when you have a good feel about Czech :)

  • Nechtěla mně domů pustit až nebudou hvězdičky.

She didn't want to let me go home until there were no more stars.

This singer seems to have a bit of an accent. Do you happen to know where he's from? Perhaps it is an Ostrava accent.

    Thank you for posting!

  • It's spelled "Když jsem choval koníčky."

  • that's soo beautiful! so reminds me of the time when i was in uherske hradiste and the great people i met there... *sigh* :)

  • nádhera
