Mickey has 3 people go to his funeral? He was the owner of a boxing gyme for 83 years? Shouldn't there be all these old black dudes that Mickey helped get off the Philly streets and guide them when they were young? Are you telling me, he didn't make any other friends in the business as MANAGER whose job is use connections to get their boxer a shot? Sorry to say this, but Mickey was a lousy manager. Still, some of those lousy no good bums could have showed up for his funeral. Seeing as Mickey ran the gym, and boxers tend to spend all of their time in the gym training. Maybe Mick was kind of a sadistic jerk and everyone hated him. He did give away Rock' s locker. Then he told Rock to stay down in the Apollo fight, even though Rock still had a chance.

Some trainer. Hey, in addition to chasing a chicken. He could have trained Rocky to at least BLOCK or duck a punch once in a while. Do you realize that Apollo connected on 98% of his punches? As a result, Rocky needed dozens of plastic surgeries between Rocky 1 and Rocky 3 to repair his face.

Mickeys terrible decision to let Rocky fight 30 minutes into the movie without a proper fighting montage caused him to lose the Heavyweight championship to Clubber Lang. Again, Mick failed to teach Rocky how to duck and avoid punches. Causing permanent damage to Rocky's eyebrows which needed to be drawn onto his head by Rocky 6.

What did Mickey ever do for Rocky? He is supposed to be a trainer yet he couldnt get Rocky a title shot. It was only Apollo who picked Rocky from a book. Then Mickey decided he wanted to hang on Rockys coattails and be a manager. Some manager. No real manager would let their fighter eat raw eggs (diarrhea) or pound raw beef (break a finger). In short, Mickey was not a good manager. And only 3 people went to his funeral. Sad.

VERY nicely done...awesome. In my opinion, Mickey is one of the greatest characters in the entire history of film! We all could use someone like him looking out for us. A truly fitting tribute to one of the best souls ever. (dont care if he was fictional-in my heart, Mickey lives!)

WoW! Again,there relationship...is Awe inspiring,Burgess Meridith,what an INCREDIBLE actor.I believe it was more than just acting to him.I LOVE the whole Rocky Saga.When pple see Sylvester Stallone,they See Rocky,there is Just sooo much heart&Soul in all the movies, that you just don't see anymore,and I think thats sad. That is why scenes like this Always touches my heart, when I'm down or need some inspiration I revisit that scene, where Rocky reminices over his beloved trainer and mentor.
