  • This song is pure poetry, that's all there is to it. Bruce is a poet and a rock n' roller. This song is as good or better than anything Dylan ever did, and I'm a Dylan fan. RIP BIG MAN.

  • this is clarenences best version i think it reminds me that enjoy all that God has given us today cause tomorrow it might be gone

  • rip c clemons

  • Miss the old Bruce.. hate the Bob Dylan version that he is now...

  • Gotta love it, how Clarence turns to Danny at the 2:45 mark & together, they rock out to Little Steven's guitar lick.

Together again, the 2 of them...rock'in out w/the best of the other Angels in Heaven.

    RIP guys. Well done.

  • single greatest sax solo ever... period..

  • Watchin this with a tear in my eye - but a smile on my face. RIP Big Man

  • RIP BIG MAN YOU WON"T BE FORGETTION!!!!

  • R.I.P. Big Man

  • We have lost the 'Big Man' today, sad, sad news. RIP Clarence!

  • All the so called "bands" out there today need to watch this video or see a Bruce concert live. This is the way a true rock and roll artist and band does it.

  • 3:43 to 6:23: The greatest two minutes and forty seconds in rock and roll history. Thank you, Big Man.

  • This is more then awesome ....

this is from heaven on direct way to the stage !

  • That Sax solo just goes straight through your soul!

  • Bravo!

  • Wow, great performance.

  • the minister of soul, secretary of the brotherhood....Big Man Clarence Clemmons!! :)

  • Clarence's sax is just exquisite in this!

It's enough to make you wanna pickup and play!

  • very very good !

    the boss is back

  • If someone asked me my favorite Bruce song and said I had to pick one... and they said if you pick just one you'll get this big wad of cash... Jungleland might just be the song.

So many songs... so much brilliance...

  • was in the PIt @ fenway

  • clemon's solo makes jesus cry baby tears

  • Sorry Kenny G!That has to be the sexiest sax solo ever written! Bruce really highlights and honors his fellow band members with their individual musical pieces. Especially Roy Bitton's piano on this and Backstreets. Just Incredible and immensely moving!

  • you don't have to apologize to kenny g. you don't even have to acknowlege he exists. as far as most musicians are concerned, he doesn't.

  • That sax solo still makes me cry like a baby.

  • goosebumps....... always

  • clarence clemons is my LIFE. amazinn i wish i could meet him somedayyy.

  • There is this amazing guy called JOHN COLTRANE. Check him out.

  • Earls court london, the first uk concert of the boss, blew my mind away then and still does now, clarence is awesome

  • crappy camera work...2:20, and you zoom in on clarence during the guitar solo!

    but good song.

  • There are a select few songs that can encapsulate a generation or a feeling. This is one of them. I was 6 in 1976 & remember my brother playing this song endlessly. As one from NJ, it reminds me of my old neighborhood and I can still see the people, remember the houses on my dead-end street & the feeling of the mid '70's - even at that young age. This is a flawless song any way you slice it.

  • I saw the Born to Run tour in spring of '76 and my glasses were broke..borrowed some shades and 1st wife was leading me around near the stage after the show...one of the roadies thought I was a blind guy and threw down a t-shirt, great show, nice people...

  • the last comment was for dabluz, see his comment on page 2

  • Saw 'em at Stafford on the "river" tour....Deffo Bruce at his best, sorry but it was all downhill after that......

  • The poets round here don't write nothing at all

They just stand round and let it all be

    GENIUS

  • This was a great tour!

  • Beautiful sax solo :)

  • clarence takes it to another level on this song

  • This hymne follows me for 20 years now - and sometime I get the impression I follow the hymne. No, the whole album Born to Run...

  • great song, im gonna get to one of his concerts at somepoint in my life

  • NO ONE- I mean NO ONE- can play the sax solo better than THE BIG MAN!!! GO Clarence!! it takes you to another dimension filled with light ....

  • van morrison can

  • @ladykarendean Well put Karen. Indeed, the Big Man has now gone onward to that other dimension filled w/light... & love...for all eternity.

No one will ever replace Clarence. But I feel strongly, that BRUCE will go out & play again. It will never be the same. But Clarence wouldn't have wanted the band to end, b/c of him.

He's at long last, at peace & rest from his pain.

We love you Clarence. You have left a hole that will never be filled.

  • Big Man at 03.42. So cool, I'm getting all warm inside my body when I hear that saxofon (L)

    So great!

  • Never thought I'd miss the Turnpike after moving to the west coast... Go Yankees, G-Men, Devils! Bruce: thank you for being the Boss...

  • The first springsteen song i heard, fell in love at the line "barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a dodge.." and the song only became better!

  • Yeah well the intro is missing.

  • Video was getting way too long, had to snip bit of the beginning out.

  • I love the part where the whole crowd sings with Bruce at the end...The crowd really wants to let him know they love him...

  • bollocks, singalongs are for pantomimes, you pay your money to hear the artists, not the morons in the audience.....think about it....

  • Dead right sasroc, i hate "audience participation", it's for kids.

  • I did...I still love it. but thanks for your thoughts...peace

  • singin along is part of the fun mate

  • THE BIG MAN ON THE SAX ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW

  • This is my favorite song of all time, not just of Bruce's. I cried the first time I heard this song, especially the intro-the gorgeous violin mixed with a sublime piano line. I have yet to hear a more beautiful piece of music. Even in heaven, Bruce will be my favorite. ROCK ON BRUCE!

  • If you had to pick a legends list- Any order:

Presley, Beatles, Sinatra, Dylan, Stones, U2, Springsteen, Led Zepplin, Spice Girls(I'm Joking), Holly, Bowie, Joel, Peppers, ACDC. Well done Bruce!!!

  • From that list: Dylan, U2, Springsteen, Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Bowie, Peppers, Elvis, Buddy, ACDC, Sinatra, Joel.

What about Hendrix, Ray Charles, The Who, Dire Straits, Clapton, Lennon (on his own), the Doors, Radiohead, Nirvana, Neil Young, the Clash. They all deserve to be up there ahead of people like Billy Joel.

  • Man Billy Joel is brilliant, he is a fantastic lyricist and musician. And an A grade performer.

  • Each to his own. I find him a little cheesy.

  • Billy Joel? lol...

  • I think he's brilliant. Saw him live and he really knows how to put on a show, and I'm only 19.

  • it's Bruce Springsteen... not Billy Joel...

Billy Joel is awesome also... but this is Brooooooce...lol

  • I know it's Bruce Springsteen you idiot. If you had bothered to read the other comments, you would have picked up that there was a previous discussion about Billy Joel.

  • Cant beat BRUCE singin his anthem...any version is great. Rock songs dont get better than this

  • This song brings a tear to my eye.........especially big Clarence on that sax......Kids round here look just like shadows Brucie........THE BOSS
