There is an interesting pull of emotions in this song. On the one hand it's romantic and loving, and on the other mournful, sad, and fearful. I guess we're to assume the narrator is the same age as the person that may live to 100. I wonder if a slight lyric change might be considered (or not), from "if you live to be 100, I hope I die when I'm 99" to "if you live to be 100, I hope I die, when you're 99". (shrug). Yeah, a remake would be interesting, although it's good as is too.
Hi Harry... I still love this song. I got your message on one of my video's a while ago, but for some reason the Browser or Flash wasn't compatible with Youtube. I literally wrote a message back 8 times, and finally gave up after it wouldn't post.
Anyway... Yes, really a great song, Only 377 views is a shame, it deserves tens of thousands at least. It's something I always remember and often find myself humming. :) Maybe it just needs a better video to help make it stand out more.

@Harrysjm I listened to Little Bird, but I like this one a lot better, just touches a nerve. It has a nice feel to it, an interesting story, a certain mood. I often like songs that pull you in different directions, and this one is both romantic and loving, but also sad and fearful. If I may comment, I guess we are to assume, the voice were hearing is the same age as the person who dies. "If you live to be 100, I hope I die when I'm 99". what if it was "I hope I die when your 99?"
