yeah um i know the basics. i have a dlink router with wifi of course, i keep getting a message saying it cant obtain the ip address when, funny enough, im only like 10 ft. away from it. i tried support.nintendo.com and no luck, so if youre gonna help me, which i would appreciate very much, please dont tell me to go to any website. id like a straight clear answer from you. thnx.

wifi is usually i places wer theres cp butsometimes some cp are locked so noone can steal internet i dont have wifi but u can go to a library or some stores say wifi connection lol its kind of sucks tat u hhave to be soemwer sometimes just to use the internet on ur dsi omg i luv my dsi mine is blue every other color was ugly like the pink one was hideous thats not even pink i got the blue the white ones too plane

people there are no such things call wifi areas . they are call acess points  for wireless things like laptops ,psp, dsi, ect

there is a wifi area it is called "hotspot" just search on your place and find if they are offering free wifi like in some coffee shop and restaurant even in the store where u buy the dsi like the "toys "R" us"

ok heres what i did. i got an access point and it was called big booger. i clicked on it it had three bars and it was unlocked. when i clicked it it said unable to connect to this access point then it said go to advanced setup to connect. well i went there and the same connection was not working. if anyone tells me how to fix that i will give them 5 subscribes. i am not kidding! i own 5 channels. dont use advance setup.go outside in your yard(wich ever yards closer to a street and more houses)dont select any access points that r locked.make sure they have green bars,repeatidly tap search again till u find the best access point

or you can find out the wep/wpa security key for your router and you can access it. try looking at your routers homepage to find it if you don't know it.
