I love this song after i seen lords of dog town i loved 70's music a couple months ago i use to lay in my bed with some cigs and smoke with the lights out and this song playing it was weird but it made me feel like the only real thing in life is music now music is sorry but its kind of a joke its all about drugs and sex. <3 70's music the only other good 70's ive found is Neil young. any other stuff like that any one can think of? if so message me some good stuff thanks
Hahahah this is so fun! Makes me want to blend up a pitcher of Kahlua slushies, snort a fat line of snowflake and then roll a big MauiWowie bomber to take into the hottub on the deck ahahahahha those were the days man.
Such a sweet, sweet version. I can even do the rhythm in text, check it out, bow wuh wuh wuuuuuuuh, bow wuh wuh wuuuuuuuuuh, bow wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh, bow wuh wuh wuuuuuh!!! lol
plugged in the eight track of Joes on a pioneer supertuner , drove out to the street drags and drank beers and smoked some weed and watched the chick that I never had.
but Joe always rocked even when the tape wound up.
BTW, this is actually my favorite version of this song. Usually I despise remixes, but in this particular case, I think it worked. The added delay and reverb livens things up a bit. Listen to Joe's vocals on the original "So What" version and you'll notice his vocals are mixed dry, with no delay, Compare it to the "Best Of Joe Walsh" album and you'll hear the difference. I bought the "Look What I Did" comp, and found they used the earlier Barnstorm version, Took me a while to find the remix.
A couple things: First off, the Barnstorm version is an earlier recording and they do it a little differently than this one (Not as funky). The "So What" version is a re-recording of the song. Now, this is the "So What" recording, however, the version heard here is actually a remix of that recording, which I believe was done for the "Best Of Joe Walsh" compilation. I didn't realize this until I went back and listened to my "Best Of" LP. Some added delay and reverb on his vocals. Compare the two.
Years ago, I began referring to Joe Walsh as "The Master of Slow Rock". Still think it fits. For those who may have missed them, I'd say his best work was his first three solo albums: Barnstorm; The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get; and So What. I still remember when I first heard the song "Falling Down" from So What on the radio, and I ran out and bought my first Joe Walsh album. Still one of my favorites.
Frey and Henley doing the "Sto---ooonne" background vocals...But listen to them during the outro solo...amazing vocals, tucked away in the background..
@lerxst990 frey and henley was not in this, this is when joe played for barnstorm. barnstorm was so un popular they just called it joe walsh and barnstorm.
Brokein hand, jamming this song, needless to say, I sucked as I was in great pain, but I sucked it up and made it through about 1 hour of jammin with joe. Joe probally knew I sucked(he didnt know I had a broken hand) my instructor put me head of the fight teamColorado Assissins. Cause I endured the pain. Wish I could have immpressed Mr. Walsh instead of my instructor, well anyway, I got to ask Joe if his mazarati really did 185..he just laughed and we kept jamming. Just a memory to me, cheers!
@wesjoe311 Ok, I was about 17-18, joe and I were in the same karate dojo. I had to fight a black belt in sparring, he broke my hand with a kick, I bowed out, went to the office, the head instructor of the dojo is(was) named Jim Harkins ( google him, he was a master ass kicker), anyway, as I got to the office, Jim knew I played guitar in a local band, who was sitting there with a guitar in his hand? Joe Walsh, Jim handed me his guitar and Joe said lets jam(very informal) there I was with a
Nope, he said he used to say he was from everywhere, especially if a show was going bad! LOL But he actually moved back to KS from LA and bought his Grampa's old farm near Emporia,KS to get away from the 'rat race" he said! Peace!
One of the good guys in Rock n Roll! hes from my hometown, Wichita, KS. He founded the James Gang, also gave Jimmy Page his first Les Paul goldtop...Saved the Eagles from death...quite the list of accomplishments!
saved the eagles from death? LOL the eagles were already fucking big when he joined. HAHA and don felder is the better guitarist in the eagles. Joe himself has said it.
It is widely known that the Eagles were near breaking up when Joe joined them! Plus I never said a thing about who was "better"! Joe is Joe, and he does a great job! Peace!
HAHA! Get your facts right man! When Joe joined them, the Eagles were already big, with the release of their Greatest Hits, which is to date, the biggest selling album in the USA. Joe only joined after that, before they started on their Hotel California album.
I never said they werent BIG dumbass! Only that they WERE about to split up! My facts are right! Get a life! I just enjoy music, not going around trying to correct other peoples comments!
The Eagles were known for "almost breaking up" since about 1972. It was their way of changing the lineup/chemistry of the band instead of just saying that this person left and we're getting this person. Remember the "Hell Freezes Over" tour? What do you suppose brought that on? In an interview, Don Henley actually admitted that it was "planned", and it was going to be like The Who... just not 1,001 "Farewell" tours. On that note, did you hear that they're touring this summer? Enough said??
@xXxFatalClawxXx Gotta disagree with you big time here. Eagles were very quickly falling off the map pre Walsh. Remember if Joe said that (better than Felder)he was more than likely being kind.
