I own one in Thailand...it was nice as I bought it but soo much better after I dropped it 2 inches with apex springs, put 17 inch Lenso rims with Toyo 245's put a custom cold air intake and 2.5" cat back exhaust, filled the interior with after market sound...now, it is really fun to drive!!
@ObservationaLee You are one of those irritating noisy people who drive with dreadful sound coming from their car. I'll bet you bought a second-hand car and tried to 'sport it up' like so many of the mindless followers. It is laughable to see the big exhausts. Why on earth did you put 17 inch wheels on?
@577666 and you must be one of them yt warriors who can't afford the stuff you see in videos so you have to denigrate those who can. Stick to the books and maybe if you get your grades above D next term, your daddy might buy you a 2nd hand Chrysler Newport...
@ObservationaLee - ooohh, that got you didn't it! Actually I did not get D grades, I have a degree, five cars and seven houses +++. One of the cars is a Jazz with leather seats and other luxury additions but not go-faster-stripes and silly sound systems. We only use it for shopping though.
Wonderful car for the money. For a car this size, it has an amazing amount of cargo room, gas mileage is great and the visibility from the over sized windows is better then most larger cars. The only con I think of is that it's noisy. Otherwise I'm very pleased.
I really liked this car until I went to a Fit website where fans and owners wrote a thread about things they didn't like about it. It was enough for me to loose interest in getting one. Here are a few things they didn't like: The carpet is garbage, no oil gauge, motor too weak, paint chips way too easily, crummy stereo, front seats have little lumbar support and don't adjust, too much road noise, body dents too easily, less than stellar gas milage, petals in awkward position, costs too much, ..
Buying one in a couple months, just saving a bit more for the down payment. So Far have 5K, want to put down 7k or more. But I have test driven, researched, and reviewed nearly every car from every make that is similar to this, even some that are more expensive (by about 5k or more) and they have much WORSE reputations than the Fit. It really is the best car on the road.
My advise to perspective buyers: if you want a low-maintenance car with good mpg thats fun, The Fit Is Go!
I have owned over 20 cars and trucks, but never a Honda, though it has always been one of the brands I have always admired. My 2010 Fit is a joy, superbly made, fun to drive and I really like the mpg considering I traded in a PU for it.
its probably the most practicle small but bigger than you think car in amerca. price is great holds a lot is reliable and mpgs are good. it needs a little more power. other than that this is like the only logical choice if you want a small car that can be a cargo hauler.if you dont want to haul a lot just buy a civic.
i like the name fit better than jazz and if the name is fit in japan the origin of the company that should be the real name. plus the car is small efficent a perfect shape(fit) and can "fit" a lot of cargo for the size

It wasn't as tall as I expected but does make a decent bed for camping trip. The plastics are a bit flimsy. I think you would have to garage this car to keep it past 200K miles.
after just over a year and 30000 miles this car is great it has more room than the suv I traded in for it. I even once fit 35 bags of mulch in it with room to spare. My family of 4 fits in it too. I still smile when I get to the gas station after someone is already filling up and Im in and out faster than them. Who are you impressing with your car payments? The bank your paying for your overpriced guzzler? Certainly not your neighbors.
I love my Fit! I call it my Spaceship because of all the state-of-the-art technology and it sort of feels a spaceship with the way the widows, dash, and controls are all placed. Great price and comes fully-loaded with the Sport package.
I cant understand why the car companies still using air conditioning compressors and alternators attached to the gas motor, drawing performance and extra miles per gallon instead of using lithium ion batteries and solar panels beside other sources for auto recharge those batteries and give us a smarter car and more fuel efficient. The air conditioning could be all electric giving us more control over it.
It always amazes me how different we all are. No sedan looks good to me. I can't handle the idea of paying for a car w/ a puny trunk when I could have a cargo area.
@SickTalent I think you are mistaking unique for ugly. The front of this thing is snarling bad-assery, and the back is an awesomely thought out hatchback design. I do agree the mazdaspeed3 looks kind of ugly with the smile grille.
The only other car I can think of that's built as well as the fit and has the same room, is the hyundai accent. Most of the sub compact cars out there today are good cars. It doesn't matter if you buy a fit or any of the others. Though fit seems to be the biggest in the competition.
@ToyMaster83 No I mean from what I've heard from other people and consumer reports and my neighbor who has one :P. Though I do expect the fit to be quieter then my 99 escort though.
@eclipsegsx268 hmmm. I like both designs. I have to say I liked the rear lights on the '07 and previous models..but I am getting to like the new lights after having my '09 model for almost a year now. I love the new hood -- very edgy lines.
My Honda Fit is my first car ever. Now I am learning to drive on my learner permit. Soon I will have my driver license. I love my cute little car. It has so much room inside I can hardly believe it. I got the sport one.
I looooove this car, a lot! Especially because its cheap and cute/small and also a Honda. always reliable brand. However, my brother calls it a "girl" car and my mom says driving it in the highway while fast cars passing it will shake the Fit.
@YesterdayLand1 I am not a reckless driver by any means, but once you have the revs up..it can really fly on the highway. It's stable and light and has great aerodynamics. If I chose, (and have done a few times).. I can zip past much bigger cars on the freeway. I love it. Better build quality than most cars for its price. The only other options for me were the Yaris (ugly and small), ford fiesta (no room inside) or Mazda 2 (nowhere near as much room either). Simple choice really!!
haha. I like mine too (I have a 'Jazz'). When did you get yours? What year model and what colour did you get? I had a guy eyeing off my car as I was returning to my Jazz when I was at the mall the other day and I wondered if he hit it or something. He just told me how good it looked and said would I recommend one. I immediately started telling him about the magic seats and how cheap it was to run! lol
The interior design is awesome, it's more comfortable than many other bigger looking cars. Great performance and saves a lot of gas!! Great for the cities and performs very well on the road!
Yeah, how cheap is cheap? for the sport version (the one i drive) the sticker price was almost 18,000! but yes, it's known that hondas are good cars, and have a good resale value... this car is good all around in my opinion. although not a racecar, it can take turns and zip around quite nicely. =] i had two volkswagens before this... to that, never again. they just look nice, that's their thing. too expensive to repair.
My Uncle had one of these....now he's pissed he didn't take my advice and buy American. The engine overheated a couple days ago leaving him stranded on the highway and the electrical system failed completely.
i've had american cars in the past.. never again.. at least non that's on the market right now. i've dealt with a ford explorer, impala, cavalier, venture, and they've all shit the bed with transmission problems. once these cars hit about 70k, they begin to fall apart. my bro-in-law has a toyota corolla with over 200k on it, and it's still running.
Sounds like an American car. Are you sure it wasn't a Chevy? Honestly, every Buick my family has owned has had major electrical problems. It's tough sending a $30k car to the junk yard because you can't repair it
I love how this became a debate american vs japanese cars lol. Oh and i dont think the fit is cheap at all the one they showed almost stickers for 20k for a smaller economy car. Yea maybe a base one is 15 but u can get alot more cars for better value imo.
Every time I see the Fit it reminds me of a boxed up Integra. The weight and engine are basically the same. Integra was just such a great car in so many ways.
Meh - it looked better before they changed it. The styling isn't exactly beautiful - lots of awkward pointy shapes jumbled together. Might be a great car, but the styling is not going to age gracefully.
@wtrdogg20 when i know about cars? wtf are talking about i know more about cars than youll probably ever know.
117 hp is not a fun car at all, its a piece of shit econobox that should be crushed. there are much better options for the same price. anyone who would buy one of these is a moron. for $15k you could get a really nice low mileage 2005 audi s4 or a ls1 ss camaro or firebird ws6
You just mentioned a Camaro and a Firebird, then an Audi. Do you really know what are you talking about?, you just proof me you know nothing about cars. Audi is a good car, but you will never find an Audi in 15k, maybe an old one, not to mention the high maintenance cost, Moron!. And about Camaro and Firebird...C'mon dude, get your Buy American Bullshit to somewhere else. Those are gas burners machines with no functionality or reliability. I wont waste my time with a brainless fanboy. Bye!
OK, kid, I have been dealing with cars since you were not even thinking in getting born. IDK where you are gonna get an Audi for 15k, and old one?, What about the maintanance cost, idiot? Camaro and Firebird?, Wake up son, Those are gas burner machines with no functionality or efficency. Fuck that Buy American bullshit. Just your wording tells me you know nothing about cars or how to qualify a car. Read more and dont be a fanboy. I aint wasting my time with fanboys... Have a nice one.
@wtrdogg20 a guy i work with just got a 2005 Audi S4 for $ 15K. and i love my gas burners fuck the earth ill be gone before any of my actions have any effect so why do i care.
@EigerBrad01 The other number you need to consider with the 117hp (not to mention torque) is weight. The extremely light weight means the Fit will be fun in transitional cornering. It also means you're getting more hp per pound than you would in a heavier sedan. Camaros and firebirds are fun in a straight line, as is my Mustang, which I love -- however, if someone were to wreck me and total my 'stang, I would seriously consider a Fit or Mini Cooper as a replacement.
@kobudo why would you ever want this? it may be light but it still is slow and has no real potential as it is FWD. you could do some upgrades in the suspension on your stang as i did on my firebird and it becomes equally as fun in the turns as it does in the straights
Trust me, I've done plenty to it in the suspension department, shy of doing anything requiring added adjustments or big changes (SLA front, IRS or torque arm/ pan hard bar rear). I won't do any serious weight reduction as it is a daily driver, though I have been very conscientious about not adding too much weight unless I'm really getting something back.
For FWD lacking real potential, I never take my car to a drag strip, so why would I care? It drives nicer in snow and I like snowboarding.
@EigerBrad01 if you're a speed demon, forget about this. This is a Hatchback crossover, not a sports car. Stick with your firebird. Don't compare this to yopur firebird. They are totally differnet cars
@EigerBrad01 its a practical car you fucking dumbass acne infest piece of shit. not everyone wants a muscle car or a drop top. well come to the real word asshole
@EigerBrad01 is that your only defense? "it's a comment on youtube" please kid you're a joke. welcome to the real world little child, people like you are on the bottom of the food chain.
@blaziankhmer "little child"??? hahahaha. so people like me, that like nice things unlike this POS honda are on the bottom of the food chain? and i suppose people that are completely happy with 117 hp shitmobiles are on top? you are a little backwards there buddy. and you keep saying welcome to the real world, im in the real world and only complete morons spend 15 grand on a low class base model econobox when they can get a much nicer and more luxurious used car for that
@EigerBrad01 i personally don't own a fit, i drive an E39 bmw, you can't knock someone for liking a fit. im into fast cars but yet im also in to practical cars, there's nothing wrong with a eco car. not everyone wants a mustang 5.0,mitsu EVO, STi, or ZR1. besides you are here trolling about how shitty this car is, obviously its a 15 car, its not an S-class benz. check yourself, cause not everyone lives an a fantasy land like you filled with 500hp cars, keep dreamin with your kia shitbox
Don't know what someone said to you but you can have your opinion. That is ok. I did not want a used car. Too smelly from other people that had it before. I like my Honda Fit all news and clean with nobody else dandruff on the head rest of smelly seat from where they pass gas for many miles.
@Natalie5316 no i dont think it is luxurious at all, i was making an example that for that price you could have luxury or performance. i chose performance obviously. also you are a fucking crossdressing freak so your opinion doesnt matter
@EigerBrad01 While the Fit in this link does have an engine swap they don't mention any other alterations. I want you to keep this in mind when and if you watch this video and see how the vehicle handles. The Fit is all but glued to the road. run a search for Honda Fit(L15A) VS Honda NSX "Suzuka Circuit". The real world isn't a straight line.
@Natalie5316 WOW... there is no way you are saying that a fit can out handle ANYTHING. it is not meant for sport driving at all. it is a cheap grocery getter and nothing else
@EigerBrad01 People that buy Jazz/Fits are SMART. Generally they don't give a shit about what other people think. They care about reliability, safety, functionality and running costs. It just happened to be nicely styled and well built. The popularity of the Jazz says it all. Not many people who have seriously test driven a Jazz has gone and bought something else in that category if they had the money for it.
I've been a Honda owner for over 20 years & I may buy a Fit, but the Ford Fiesta costs less & gets better mileage. However, the Fit offers a much larger cargo space. Both vehicles have great reliability records. Tough decision.
@deezynar Where are you getting the reliability info on the Fiesta? I know it's been in Europe for awhile. But the Fiesta is new in America for 2011. Consumer Reports , JD and other sources don't have any data yet.
The real world mileage on the two is a toss up. The EPA rating for the Fit is off. Maybe a slight edge for the Fiesta.
I'm going off of reliability info for the European car. It's supposed to be the same car "essentially".
Where are you getting the mileage numbers? I've been reading that the Fiesta w/ the 5 speed automatic (I may have that wrong) is better by 3 in the city & 5 on the highway. The Fiesta has variable valves & that's supposed to give it an edge.
I just discovered the Fit has a bit less front leg room, but the Fiesta has about zero in back.
@deezynar Watch the SmokingTire reviews for the Fit and the Fiesta, Mat says he got 27 combined for each car. If you go to the Car and Driver website and search for the Fiesta and the Fit the C&D's observed MPG are 28 for both cars.
Where are you getting the reliablity figures from? Specifically what source? I'm having a hard time finding any reliability data. The US Fiesta is supposed to be made in Mexico. If it is a different manufacturing plant altogether from the european Fiestas...
You're correct, the US Fiestas are hecho en Mexico, so the reliability may not carry over from the Spanish built cars.
I wish I could remember where I got the info on the European Fiesta. I was hunting the internet for info a couple weeks ago and I've forgotten now. I do recall that Jeremy on Top Gear said it had a great reliability record, maybe that's all I was running off of. Sorry, it does seem like I was pulling that out of my backside.
@deezynar the only upside to a Fiesta over a Fit would be that it's lighter, so it would have a one or two gain of MPG than the Fit. But is a 2 mile gain worth all the cons the Fiesta has? It definitely looks like an fat bald receptionist would be behind the wheel of a Fiesta. Lighter weight also means less stable on the curves and @ 80 mph. But the biggest upside for a 07 Fit (less mini-van looking year), would be all the performance and body kit upgrades you can put on it if you want to.
To me, both cars are pretty comparable. I prefer the Fit because of the extra cargo room & the Honda reputation. I don't think the Fiesta loses the fight on the looks front, but that's just opinion.
@deezynar don't let the 2mpg better avg be the deal breaker. Find out what else these cars have to offer. I think Ford payed a lot more attention to their interior materials/quality, but the fit magic seat can't be beat!

=] i had two volkswagens before this... to that, never again. they just look nice, that's their thing. too expensive to repair.

i've had american cars in the past.. never again.. at least non that's on the market right now. i've dealt with a ford explorer, impala, cavalier, venture, and they've all shit the bed with transmission problems. once these cars hit about 70k, they begin to fall apart. my bro-in-law has a toyota corolla with over 200k on it, and it's still running.
baker70romeo 2 years ago
Sounds like an American car. Are you sure it wasn't a Chevy? Honestly, every Buick my family has owned has had major electrical problems. It's tough sending a $30k car to the junk yard because you can't repair it

Acura Integra > Fit > Cobalt

EigerBrad01 1 year ago
You just mentioned a Camaro and a Firebird, then an Audi. Do you really know what are you talking about?, you just proof me you know nothing about cars. Audi is a good car, but you will never find an Audi in 15k, maybe an old one, not to mention the high maintenance cost, Moron!. And about Camaro and Firebird...C'mon dude, get your Buy American Bullshit to somewhere else. Those are gas burners machines with no functionality or reliability. I wont waste my time with a brainless fanboy. Bye!
wtrdogg20 1 year ago

EigerBrad01 1 year ago
@EigerBrad01 The other number you need to consider with the 117hp (not to mention torque) is weight. The extremely light weight means the Fit will be fun in transitional cornering. It also means you're getting more hp per pound than you would in a heavier sedan. Camaros and firebirds are fun in a straight line, as is my Mustang, which I love -- however, if someone were to wreck me and total my 'stang, I would seriously consider a Fit or Mini Cooper as a replacement.
kobudo 1 year ago 2
@kobudo why would you ever want this? it may be light but it still is slow and has no real potential as it is FWD. you could do some upgrades in the suspension on your stang as i did on my firebird and it becomes equally as fun in the turns as it does in the straights
EigerBrad01 1 year ago
Trust me, I've done plenty to it in the suspension department, shy of doing anything requiring added adjustments or big changes (SLA front, IRS or torque arm/ pan hard bar rear). I won't do any serious weight reduction as it is a daily driver, though I have been very conscientious about not adding too much weight unless I'm really getting something back.
For FWD lacking real potential, I never take my car to a drag strip, so why would I care? It drives nicer in snow and I like snowboarding.
kobudo 1 year ago
@EigerBrad01 if you're a speed demon, forget about this. This is a Hatchback crossover, not a sports car. Stick with your firebird. Don't compare this to yopur firebird. They are totally differnet cars

EigerBrad01 1 year ago
@EigerBrad01 i personally don't own a fit, i drive an E39 bmw, you can't knock someone for liking a fit. im into fast cars but yet im also in to practical cars, there's nothing wrong with a eco car. not everyone wants a mustang 5.0,mitsu EVO, STi, or ZR1. besides you are here trolling about how shitty this car is, obviously its a 15 car, its not an S-class benz. check yourself, cause not everyone lives an a fantasy land like you filled with 500hp cars, keep dreamin with your kia shitbox

Natalie5316 1 year ago
@Natalie5316 WOW... there is no way you are saying that a fit can out handle ANYTHING. it is not meant for sport driving at all. it is a cheap grocery getter and nothing else
EigerBrad01 1 year ago
@EigerBrad01 People that buy Jazz/Fits are SMART. Generally they don't give a shit about what other people think. They care about reliability, safety, functionality and running costs. It just happened to be nicely styled and well built. The popularity of the Jazz says it all. Not many people who have seriously test driven a Jazz has gone and bought something else in that category if they had the money for it.
ToyMaster83 1 year ago
@ToyMaster83
I've been a Honda owner for over 20 years & I may buy a Fit, but the Ford Fiesta costs less & gets better mileage. However, the Fit offers a much larger cargo space. Both vehicles have great reliability records. Tough decision.
deezynar 1 year ago
@deezynar Where are you getting the reliability info on the Fiesta? I know it's been in Europe for awhile. But the Fiesta is new in America for 2011. Consumer Reports , JD and other sources don't have any data yet.
The real world mileage on the two is a toss up. The EPA rating for the Fit is off. Maybe a slight edge for the Fiesta.
ReligiousShooter 1 year ago
@ReligiousShooter
I just discovered the Fit has a bit less front leg room, but the Fiesta has about zero in back.
deezynar 1 year ago
@deezynar Watch the SmokingTire reviews for the Fit and the Fiesta, Mat says he got 27 combined for each car. If you go to the Car and Driver website and search for the Fiesta and the Fit the C&D's observed MPG are 28 for both cars.
Where are you getting the reliablity figures from? Specifically what source? I'm having a hard time finding any reliability data. The US Fiesta is supposed to be made in Mexico. If it is a different manufacturing plant altogether from the european Fiestas...
ReligiousShooter 1 year ago
@ReligiousShooter
What's your interest?
deezynar 1 year ago
@deezynar the only upside to a Fiesta over a Fit would be that it's lighter, so it would have a one or two gain of MPG than the Fit. But is a 2 mile gain worth all the cons the Fiesta has? It definitely looks like an fat bald receptionist would be behind the wheel of a Fiesta. Lighter weight also means less stable on the curves and @ 80 mph. But the biggest upside for a 07 Fit (less mini-van looking year), would be all the performance and body kit upgrades you can put on it if you want to.
makethemyths86 1 year ago
@makethemyths86
To me, both cars are pretty comparable. I prefer the Fit because of the extra cargo room & the Honda reputation. I don't think the Fiesta loses the fight on the looks front, but that's just opinion.
Cheers
deezynar 1 year ago
@ReligiousShooter I have the 2010 Sport with M/T and I get 35mpg cumulative - and I'm doing a lot of rush hour traffic (5-10 mph) with the air on.
edyken77 1 year ago
@deezynar don't let the 2mpg better avg be the deal breaker. Find out what else these cars have to offer. I think Ford payed a lot more attention to their interior materials/quality, but the fit magic seat can't be beat!
