Why not replace the top 3/4 (ish) of the video with the still of one before you came into the frame? That would be incredibly easy, fast, and give you the proper timer counter at the bottom. Just a thought.

Just a guess but make sure it is the proper format (i.e. wmv, mov, mp4, etc). Apparently he exported it as .mov so try importing a .mov file and see if it works.
