  • How much does haute couture cost ?

  • They usually start from US 10K and can go up six figure @mec7up

  • 3:57 I LOVE

  • one dislike? clearly this person wears jeggings.

  • insane!

  • why oh why isnt there haute ciuture for men? well i know why, the fear of the homophobes and their queeny/faggy shouts BUT, i would so want to be erin or shalom, just for a day knowing that im a piece of art not just acorporate idea...

  • Each dress is more heartbreaking than the next. That alligator jacket is beyond chic. It would look spectacular combined with anything really. This show looks like it just features evening gowns, but there are a lot of daywear here as well. Galliano thought f everything and pushed the limits of couture beyond any reason or comprehension.

The best, the best, the best.

  • jessica stam looked beautiful!

  • Irina Bondarenko is just sublime here...

  • the show that made me fall in love with couture and fashion. i finally "get it". it's art. living art. :) and now i work in fashion, doing makeup for runway shows and working on models. love what i do. :) so much!

  • @smashingdivas Wish I could say the same...

  • so perfect ~~~~

  • @zenradiohead thank you so much! Arigatou Gozaimasu!

  • La poesia attraverso il tessuto!

  • oh dear i tried crying at 0:20

  • anybody know the japanese singer/song at the beginning of this video??? please help to find!

  • @drakonide song is "Anoko Konoko" (あの子この子). its old traditional japanese song.

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT, 6:32 TO DIE FOR UGH ITS SO BEUTIFUL. EVERYTHING IN THIS SHOW IS BEUTIFUL, I WOULD FILL MY CLOSET WITH EVERYTHING FROM THIS SHOW, OR RENT A STORAGE OR 2, THIS GOWN ARE ORGASMLY ENOURMOUS.............<3

  • What's the japanese part in the beginning before O Mio Babbino Caro Giacomo Puccini

  • Wow! I can't begin to imagine how long it took John Galliano to put this collection together. From drawings on paper to the fashion show.

so much attention detail, each piece a work of art.

    John Galliano is a Genius

  • two people dont like this, seriously? how can you not like this. all of dior's haute couture shows are awfully stunning!!

  • this is so beautiful!

    I feel like crying

  • Ever since this haute couture collection Galliano has presented for Dior, all the collections, even his spring 2011 collection is nowhere near how solid and rich this collection is. This is definitely one of fashion's most vivid and powerful collections of the 2000s! :)

  • @misterkiller89 all of Galliano for Diors up to 2007 were so revolutionary. and but recently. no where near as close :(, Givenchy has Taken over that Role in Haute Couture.

  • @jimmyjk08 Thats because 2007 was the annuversary year for the house of dior, and the 10th yr. anniversary since Mr.Galliano had taken over the house of DIOR.

  • @1tymzaire yes of-course, 2007 was the special year for dior. but most couture and ready to wear since 2007 have not been as imaginative, exciting as this collection, fall 2007 and before has been :) although you can tell so much more love went into 2007 collections. they are immaculate.!

  • It's more than a fashion show.

    It's something to remember.

    Amazing.

  • that dress at 7:30 is So beautiful

  • i like the dress at 1:09

  • Madam Butterfly - Malcolm Mclaren Song to the Siren - This Mortal Coil Stranger in Moscow - Michael Jackson Humming Chorus (from Madama Butterfly) - Giacomo Puccini The Cars - Drive Alice - Cocteau Twins Immortality - Celine Dion Alone in Kyoto - Air Giving Up - The Ad Libs O Mio Babbino Caro (from Gianni Schicchi) - Giacomo Puccini Butterflies - Alicia Keys Another Day - This Mortal Coil Songbird - Fleetwood Mac
  • Erin O'Connor in a Green Couture Coat, Magdalena Frackowiak in a Texas/Japanese Gown and Shalom Harlow in a White Origami Gown = Killed the show!!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:51 IRINA LAZAREANU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:50 absolutely stunning

  • Does anyone know the song in japanese in the beginning?

  • where is part 2?

  • i'm speechless

  • is from France?

  • @matiaslopezacosta Yes it is. Christian Dior is a French fashion designer. This haute couture line was inspired by the elegance of Japanese, French and Chinese dresses.

  • Does anyone know the beginning opera song that is played immediately?

  • Could anybody tell me the song that starts at 5:14, I am looking everywhere, can't find it. Thanks!!!

  • How's this for GLAMOUR!!! DIOR in your face! I'm still in love with this couture collection. Inspiration, Check!

  • Does anyone know the first song?

  • @MrSammySuperSTAR The first song is the aira "O mio babbino caro|" from Puccini's opera "Gianni Scicchi" sung by soprano Maria Callas. Callas, who dies in the late 70's, I believe, is considered one of the greatest sopranos ever - her versions of arias are often used in movies, etc.

  • @oceans80 Thanks so much!

  • Definitely THE best Haute Couture collection ever! Even the music is perfect. Look @ 5:14...OMFG!!

  • esto es una pasada mencanta mencanta galiano bravo!!!!

  • I think the finale wedding gown[ciao-ci-san] cost at about 217,000 Us dollars it s more than Melanie Trump s wedding gown just a wee bit...

  • interesting fashon

  • each dress is a piece of art...

  • @tatmik Jadore!! Dior is by far the only Fashion House that keeps me dreaming... I pray Galiano revamps and does another Couture collection with this Caliber.

  • I adore this entire collection, japan is a huge fascination of mine. But the final 2 looks are total perfection.

  • and I love Shalom Harlow in a fantastic origami wedding gown BRAVO!!!!!

  • Shalom is the best part of this show, her gown is simply perfection and she's flawless in modeling it.

A model with about 25 years in the business!

  • @princesseadrejana oh yes john galliano must be an expert in origami to get those fabulous silhouettes

  • I love this couture spring 2007 such a lot especially Debra Shaw in a sumptous full skirt gradient

  • i want the dress at 6:22 for my school ball .... sigh , if only : [

  • i love couture!

its so extravagant and it is so full of imagination!

you can create anything in couture it seems, so amazing the work john galliano does

  • Hmm! Yeah.... and at $10,000 a pop, a real bargin. Im gonna get me some pieces from this collection.... now where did I put that Eurostar ticket???

  • 10,000 a pop.. are you serious? from this collection... looking at more 95,000 a pop.

  • if they were only $10,000 a dress alot of people would have at least one of these dresses in their lifetime but the sad part is they cost 10 times more than that, like $100,000 or more.

  • @insut07 I know you were being sarcastic but $10,000 would be an INCREDIBLE BARGAIN for any one of those dresses since they are more like $100,000, sometimes alot more even double like $200,000 or maybe just $50,000 for just a small jacket alone.

  • Yes I did under estimate the prices and i should have put £ not dollars, Its what I've heard some years back. Looks like it will have to be a ski mask and a gun to raise the cash for some of this collection:-) and yes im still being sarcastic. Good collection though, I like it.

  • those dresses were all designed to work on anyone regardless of weight -that black and red one will make any woman look beautiful because its formed

  • Stunning eveyone should dress like that everyday

  • no EVERYONE shouldnt..only a select group of women...couture would not work on fatties.

  • Have you seen Becca Thrash? I'd say she's a U.S. 8, and when I went to the Chanel showroom (my mother is a longtime couture client) she was arriving as we left. She's larger than normal, yet she still looks very elegant in her couture

  • Becca Cason Thrash...yes. She's not large. I guess an 8 is considered large though in the world of couture.

  • I did not mean she's large by normal standards, however as the majority of couture customers I have seen (some family friends; when I have been dragged to fittings or shows) are around a U.S. four to two; they can get a discount if they fit into the runway exit (even if amendments must be made to fit perfectly): My mother is a U.S. two, so she can get the garments within a month (as opposed to two for a suit or three for a gown when from scratch).

  • And who is your mother? :-)

  • Not someone well known by standards of other clients (Catherine Blair, Susan Gutfreund, Tessa Dahl et al.)

and not someone well known to her children either, but both are of her own doing...

  • oh can u stop saying that im sick of u trying to brag about ur mom being a couture client. Couture clients dont reveal there identities so people like you dont bother them for heaves sake shut up.

  • If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I do not feel the need to jusify myself to the likes of you. If you bothered to read the comments above you would see the context in which it was written: If I wanted to brag I could say I bought it.

Your spelling is almost as bad as your knowledge of fashion.

I made a comment because I wanted to. I'll shut up when I feel like it, not when it pleases you.

  • no i will keep commenting to annoying people like u you proably dont even know what fashion is. I can spell as bad as i want because im not arrogant and i dont really care what people say about me. Your trying to make people believe you by saying your moms a couture buyer when she proably doesnt even know what it is.

  • I don't know what fashion is but yet you are the one who not only didn't know about Gaultier and Dior, but claimed I was inncorrect...

Have you read the article I recommended? Maybe you'll learn something about fashion if you do...

  • Once again, I hate to beleave the point, I have not stated that I know everything, or indeed, anything about fashion: as I previously stated, no-one person can know this. I do not need to convince people; you either believe me or not...

    You do not.

    I do not care.

But I do like this game you're playing, so please reply!

  • Couture clients are notoriously secret about just that buying couture nor do you ever hear family speaking about it , so i dont believe you ither , couture clients are like a medical secret , a secret !!!! were all here to admire the shows so please keep the bullsh*t to yourself thanks

  • Yeah they're a medical secret. They live in sterile, isolated remote locations, have movement plans for leaving their house and never talk because they've had their vocal chords removed.

You are confusing the designers reluctance to discuss clients and prices with the actual customers.

If they're "notoriously secret" why do they speak to the press?

My world is now shattered because you, someone I don't know nor want to nor will(likely) never meet, doesn't believe me. I'm devestated.

  • I've said this already: I was not bragging, I was saying it to make the comparison between two different designers and thier respective atelier (which in my opinion don't even compare) based on my personal experience with those labels rather than just the design itself.

Again, I DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT FASHION; nor claim to.

Please take comments in the context in which they are made.

If I were to brag to someone, I'd do it in person, not on a faceless message board.

  • Aaliyah, it does not matter if Neo's mom is a client or not. the fact that everying that Neo has said about the topic is TRUE!!!! And thats coming from someone who does know a hell of a lot about fashion!

  • who told you to get involve mind your own business please

  • I will get involved in WHAT EVER THE hell I want! Deal with it! :0)

  • i ant he dress on 0.05.Absolutly gorgeous.

  • its a this mortal coil song called another day!... and it goes... ! i loved you along time ago you know, when the winds own forget- me-nots blow, you know, But i just couldnt let myself go, not knowing what on earth, there was to know. but i wish that i had cos im feeling so sad. that i never had one of your children.

  • oh really my dear, i cant see what we fear, With ourselves, sat here between us,And at the door, we can't say more, than just another day

Without a sound, I turn around, and I walk away

  • the gown at 8:28 is just the most amazing gown i have ever seen. is so beautiful, so elgant so fascinating..is just stunning

  • That Japanese song is absolutely breathtaking. It brings tears to my eyes. Hard to do nowadays, but combined with the utter brilliance of Dior, it does.

  • it may be an offput comparison...but the model's profile at 1:23 looks like audrey hepburn to me..anyone agree?

  • Oh la la Morgane Doubled 5:40, she's great

  • the dress on 0.05 is a bomb and one of my favorites and i dont know about any onelelse but i could do anything to put my hands on the super gorgeous suit that opened the show, love everything about it.

  • love the wonderful japanese design and the music

  • stunning, I want them all, Galliano is GOD. Every gown takes my breath away

  • oh my god. that red, green, and white gown at 0:14 is stunning. well, all the dresses are stunning. but that's the one i want.

    i love john galliano.

  • This has got to be Galliano's best work yet - for anyone. The control over his signature pleating, colour and volume this time is amazing, and it really seems everyone feels it - even Jeremy Healy's often clashing music is utterly sublime! :-) I actualy cried the first time I saw that wedding gown... I'm sure many others have... Thanks ishedonism for allowing us to relive it all! :-)

  • I'd do anything to get the first dress in the video (the grey&pink one).

I think Galliano isn't a fashion designer, he's an artist!

    ishedonism thanks for the video!

  • What's up with you?

  • Vive la France, and a free Tibet
