In Juan's case, he's being ridiculed in that manner probably because he goes on Fox news and Fox News is "racist." Truth be told, I watch MSNBC, FOX, and CNN and out of all those three Fox seems the least racist. Actually, I am quite familiar history and the history of FOX putting on a psedo African American that is juxtaposed to represent a Liberal viewpoint. On 2nd note, I actually live my life as a Fiscal Conservative, so Im not sure about going against people because they oppose my opinion or view. I hear what you are saying, but realistically, Juan's appearance is just a facade. Fox doesn't really have any minorities reporting or providing commentary, and he shows up to simply validate opinions of the show's host. Juan's typical topical discussion with Bill O'Reilly will start with outrage, then he will simply be talked down to or agree to disagree. Juan reminds me of the stories of freed slaves that would beat up on other blacks because he was being paid by his overseer.

Rap music is and other forms of music are avenues of expression. Some artists depict/show their harsh reality through their music ie Common, Outkast, 2Pac, on and on. In my opnion their music is a way for them and those that listen to it to feel better about a common situation. History has always been marked by the music of the time. In slavery days it was spirituals, the 60's gave us JB, 70's Pfunk etc. All of which were embrased by us the black community.
