  • Love phil's sideways glance and grin when don misses one word but don never missed a beat. They will never be matched

  • They influenced so many amazing bands ......can see why...seen them play with Simon & Garfunkel and it was magic !

  • Is it just me or did they look like clones of John Mayer? :D I love em' both!!

  • @MrDudewithanattitude Excuse me "dude" but if anything, John Mayer is a half-botched clone of these two geniuses!

  • What year was this from? Great EB video, btw! =)

  • @NB28586 , it was 1961.

  • When family members sing, blend and harmonize...nothing else compares. There is just something so extra special about the blend.

  • Mosy men are not discribed as beautiful....but, it is what it is...these two men are just beautiful !!!

  • They are simply adorable ! voices from Heaven and the faces of angels. Is it possible for them to be as innocent as they look ? God Bless The EverlyBrothers

  • They never sounded better, nor looked better in their whole career then they did in this time period. They are simply beautiful and their vocals are awesome.

  • Anne Murray did a version of this song.

  • this was real singers

  • They're awesome. They're so amazing that I didn't realize the lyrics were practically repeating. I was so focused on their voices <3

  • My dad found Phil and Don their apartment in North Hollywood when they were first coming to Hollywood to do some shows. He was in the Electronics biz and sold alot of studios their sound gear. Now battling cancer he likes to talk about the old days, and these guys are just one of his amazing stories.

  • @n7zsd I would love to hear his stories.

  • I don't know which is more stiff... their posture or their hair.

Either way, I love it so.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. Its absolutely wonderful.

Sounds just like the song, they're so young.(as I once was) It

    is brilliant!

  • herumficken - отличный немецкий глагол

  • Awesome....and here in lies the beginnings of the Beatles....The Beatles worshiped The Everly Brothers and you can see the Beatles foundation for harmony...and of course Paul has spoken of this many times

  • Man I would kill for a Gibson guitar like that...

  • I second cornishrexlady - the high harmony on this song is quite something. On the Everly recordings we usually have the high harmony a little lower in the mix but on stage here he sings even louder that Don doing lead. :)

  • This is far the best video footage of the Everly Brothers, ever. All in colour... It's beautiful.

  • a good song with only positive thumbs aahhh nice ( :

  • So cute...

Don looks a little like Ricky Nelson here.

  • 0:24

    hahahahaha

god made little brothers for the purpose of rolling their eyes at you.

  • Just A cool song...and cool boys.

  • No matter what their ancestry was, they are in fact, born and bred in the good old USA! We are a melting pot, that's why we have such a wide range of music invented here!No one can compare to these 2,no one can harmonize like siblings!

  • I love the line flub at :22. They are so cute!

  • There were 3 waves of Irish immigrants, the first of which was just after 1717, way before the 1840's, 50's potatoe famine max exodus. (BTW Kelly, Tully, Ferguson are known to be Irish/Scottish/Celtic names.) I don't find any ancestors prior to 1717 here in America. I think it's interesting to know the background and cultural forces that went into making music/art. So, what group are they from, Anglo, French?

  • You are confusing the early Scots "Irish" immigration with the later true Irish immigrations. The Everlys have some scot ancestry, but not true Irish. A lot of folks make that same mistake, thinking the Scots that Britain sent to administer their Irish colony were actually Irish. They were not, although a lot of them came to the US early on.

  • TWO handsome brothers, love all their songs!!

  • Yeah, handsome w/beautiful voices, check out the beautiful, thick head of Irish hair. No need for toupees here, even in their 60's.

  • They are not of Irish ancestry (not that it is important what ancestry they are). Their ancestors were here in the US before the Irish immigration occurred.

  • It really must be tough to have so much stardom at a young age only to have the Beatles anf The Brittish Invasion make you obsolete. They tried to play a more souther/black rock but that really wasn't their style. Still some great classics though

  • They gave the Beatles their sound. The Beatles acknowledged their talent and influence as did so many others. Great talents here.

  • @5inthehole I think they began to fade a couple of years before the beatles appeared on the scene. But what a talent. They still hold the record( no pun) for the most top 100 hits for a duo.

  • @frankiehiyo You right, they were fading after leaving "Cadence" (their first recording label for you young-ins) for WB in 1961, but they still had a few hits afterwards. The nail in the coffin was the Beatles and The Brittish Invasion.

  • Young, sweet, pure and superb, thats all i can say about this performance. BTW, is raising shoulders so SEXILY like that one of Don's hobbies XD ?

  • I wished they hadn't of done an abbreviated version of this song. Their harmonies sounded superb, and so.... Well, Everly!

  • i have a feeling that was cause the tv show made them shorten it they always do crap like that.

  • Absolutely amazing harmonies..... doubt it will ever be duplicated again .... Thanks Phil and Don !!!

  • I love this ... love their pompadour hair!

  • Muito bom.

Dificilmente os anos cinquenta será superado em termos de música.

  • This song is so awesome. It's one of their very best hits. Amazing color footage. Xnerodem, you rock!

  • There ain't nothing like the old songs and singers who really brought emotions forth when they sang...I love it!!

  • Love the color, however the black and white seems more nostalgic.

  • Phil and Don don't need anything to embellish their songs; their sweet, clear voices with steel acoustic guitar is the Everlys at their best. Phil's harmony is outstanding on this performance. This is really a rare find; clearly one of the best EB videos I have seen to date. Thank you thank you thank you.

  • Couldn't agree more. Those voices make for remarkable harmonies. BTW - does anyone know who is playing electric lead?

  • Weren't they terrific??!!

  • I like when Don messes up at :27 and Phil gives him a look haha

  • That was Phil that made the mistake with Don giving him the look as I see it.

  • I think it's Don since the lyric is "know" and he mouths "tell" again, plus it happens w/ the melody and not the high harmony

  • Just saw the video...I agree with Hernia901

  • Agreed, I had the names mixed up. Don made the mistake.

  • @Hernia901 Yes, I caught that too. I think it probably happened a lot because they would often change the words of their songs. I am of the generation that was heartbroken when the 'British Invasion", mostly The Beatles, wiped out all the great soft Rockers. The Everly Bros were he hardest for me to see go down. Some of the Beatles music was good, but not good enough to make up for all we lost. Well, time marches on.

  • That was freaking awesome! Thanks for the very cool post.
