@SimsLover2011 That's something I can't tell. There are rumors that she do it to make her vocals louder and powerful. There rumors that this is only the volume of the mic.

@SimsLover2011 Christina has a great voice. Her middle register is strong but when she belts anything higher than C5 she starts straining due to lack of breath support and placement. Thus, her belts aren't powerful, even though nobody can deny that she have an amazing voice and talent.

@SimsLover2011 when an artist is performing in an open air venue, you're voice quality and volume may shatter because of the air that gushing the microphone. so I think that's the reason why her mic is very close to her mouth : )

@SimsLover2011 I know you don't hate The late Whitney Houston... Actually most of the performers, even here in the Philippines, use to sing with mic touching almost their lips. They do that so that every words/lyrics they utter are really heard even at the their low notes. Those microphones have condenser so even at loudest belt of your voice, it will not sound crack or distorted due to loud voice. I sing my friend that's why I have background about it : )
