  • Hi I just ordered the 14ft, and trying to decide what engine, I want to fish and explore, but dont want to spend too much. I was thinking the coleman 5hp or a smaller Suzuki, Nissan. There is Hankai, but that is 2 stroke, and I live in Calif, I hear those may be restricted on our lakes. What do you recommend.

  • @zztimezz A Friend of mine have a 3.5 Hp Tohatsu (Nissan) 4 stroke, is not too heavy to carry out and can move the Zodiac (his boat) freely, look my video "The Inflatables Raid", thank you!...

  • @BigJigDad cool man, Thanks for the insight..your videos are very helpfull..

  • Love the setup. Just ordered one. Answered my question about what to do with rod holders. Any idea on how long the 2.5 lasted on gas.. I realize conditions and speed factor in.. Thnx for sharing the video..

  • Very cool boat! I see that it's registered. Are you required to have insurance?

  • eugenepavlov, It is no for the insurance, in Florida, if you have a gasoline engine then you need to register the boat, is the law ... thanks! ...

  • This is absolutely one of the best flicks I have seen about boats. I am looking for a fishing boat/canoe/kayak. Most of the vids show some guy riding up and down the river for 3 min. SO HOW DOES THAT HELP ME??? This video gave practical advice on how to modify the vessel for fishing. Lighting was good not too dark. Labels Very helpful, no gussing rqd. You should give video instructions. Thanks for the info it was very helpful. Happy fishing!

  • Thank you!..

  • Have you ever used a trolling motor with it? or seen one used with it, my thoughts are for using on lakes with a no-gas motor policy? one other thing ,how tough is that inflatable material any problems with leaks? thanks

  • @zam200864

No, I never had used a trolling motor...in 4 years too, never had a leakage in my kaboat...

  • HI,

How does your Kaboat handle waves and wake?

    Thanks

    Peter

  • This is an inflatable boat, since it contains air it will always be floating on the top of the waves, if the waves are mild, it will move little, now, if there are many waves will move much more, but one thing makes it very good, and it is that even trying it is very difficult for it to flip on itself, at least in a reasonable environment, its narrow profile also gives a very good navigability, at speeds close to 10 miles per hour the ride is quite dry in a calm sea, thanks.

  • @BigJigDad How do you like the Merc 2.5? I just sent my check in to boats to go, for my 12', now I need to choose the motor.

  • I had a yamaha 2.5 HP, no more than 6 mph...I had a nissan 3.5 HP, no more than 8 mph...right now I have a mercury 5 HP, 16 mph!...I think that the 12' kaboat needs no less than 4-5 HP...

  • nice video you should make more!!!

  • cool rig
