@ inmylife10465 Do you know the band intimately? Do you KNOW for SURE what this is about? I am a songwriter. I know, intimately, how songs come together and what's going on when I do my work. Looking at this, It's hard NOT to think what people think about Steve and what he did and what they went through at that moment in time. Ed himself said it could be about anyone who's been in a band with someone for twenty years. That's just Ed. As for me, I just fired a band member too, I feel this.
first of all, steve needed a lil help getting off of drugs(fact)
what does ED do about it? he has a lil chat with the rest of the band ,and they all voted steve out of the band(fact) maybe ed felt a lil guilty and wrote this song to look like the "good guy",but fact is he isn't the good guy.im a long time BIG fan of BNL ,and if you want any kind of proof to what i'm saying, please ask-im more than willing.....
You do realize nearly half of their hits are "sappy songs," yes? You also, surely then realize that many of their songs deal with crappy issues like depression because you listen to the lyrics and appreciate the beauty, from "What a Good Boy" to "One Week" to "Bull in a China Shop" to this.
Hey! We were there! Great video and fantastic concert. Still can't believe we got to meet the band! Got to chat with Ed and Tyler, completely unbelievable. Have any more videos of it?
Somebody with inside info should give the straight dope on what happened in the period up to Steven's departure. It seems that Steven got mad about Ed and the band's response to the cocaine bust and split. I could be wrong, but Steven acknowledged this song when he bitterly tweeted about Ed: "he did his best but it wasn't enough".
BNL will survive and do fine with just Ed, but it won't be the same magic.
People talking..SHHHH!

Ironically, Steve's voice would fit this song better. Ed's voice is better suited to jerky folk songs.

Oh wow...that's about the pain caused by Steve leaving...You can see it in his face. On the up side, I'm so happy he's getting closure in this song.
