I still can't get the fucking thing to see the camera. And I've been using After FX and Prem pro since 2003. I'm also a self taught film guy since 1989. Mabey I downloaded a shit version. Any ideas. Can it see the camera through a firewire. I use this for prem. Also I use a Canon HV-30 camera. One more thing do I need to point the camera to it or something. Oh yes and the select project doesn't work either. I need to create a new one in order to even read the help section. And can't delete old

@ShizzProductions I'm not sure how well AnimatorDV Simple+ works with chroma-keying, I'm not quite sure I'd recommend it but it's quite possible. You might want to read up about it on a forum or something and then let me know

@cousins888 u export it by going to sequence, and then make .avi

Then you put it in an editing program where you can add sounds. You dont wanna add sounds to the actual animation before exporting it out of your animating program, as the quality probably won't turn out as well. I don't even think AnimatorDV will let you.

Windows Movie Maker works just fine for a video editor.

@matheus11397 that's hard drive space. RAM is instant memory. You might have a very low amount. Also, Vista hogs memory & HD (hard drive) space. Ask a parent or someone to help you find out how much RAM your computer has.

ya. The codec isn't the best thing to use. It won't work with youtube. Another good program is called Helium Frog

I'm not totally sure if this one can. It's a slightly advanced, but heavily scaled down version of AnimatorHD. The feature is called Chroma-Keying. But the program seems too basic to have it.

if you have a video camera with firewire (usually contained on the newer tape recording models, such as miniDV camcorders) you can use that. I used a Panasonic model up until recently when I had to send it in to get it fixed.

I've just downloaded this program and i dont know much about claymation but i was wondering why do my 88 frames go in 1 secnod (or less) i cant find the setting for speed or whatever....

idk, but that is a common problem. I haven't had that issue, but if you look at the past comments I've gotten, you'll see that they get that a lot. The speed option should be somewhere around the bottom right corner. The best frame rate is 24 fps (frames per second) but you might wanna start with 12-15

well, you can export the frames as bitmaps, which can be edited in photoshop.

there are a few differences. Try Helium Frog. It allows you do use audio to make the video. You can also quit the program, import the video back in, and continue working on it.

it depends. Monkeyjam has more features, but no onionskinning. Both are a bit glitchy. Look at Helium Frog. It's also free, not as glitchy, and has all the features you would need, unless you want professional stop motion

onion skining is a useful tool but in mj you can view the priveous picture in the capture window is just a little bit differnt

The film preview slider of Monkey Jam is a bit hard to use. I've struggled with that program.

And yes. Definitely check out Helium Frog. I will eventually make a tutorial on how to use it (probably no time soon, dealing with a catastrophic family issue). But it's in beta status, and I would get in contact with the creator, Martin Price.

slow down the frame rate. It's probably set really high. Another option would be to slow it way down in movie maker or whatever editor you use

that's strange. I've had other software do this, but not AnimatorDV Simple+. What OS (operating system) are you using? What are the specs of your computer. Also, does your computer have any other problems that should be noted? Also, if I am not able to answer your question, search for online forums. Well, you could take pics with a camera, and then import them, but it's a lot harder. You wouldn't be able to use onionskinning. That's an important feature. I'd save up for a 50 dollar webcam. And thanks, I'll subscribe so I can see your work as it starts to come out.
