  • very nice. thanks for the recipe idea!

  • Nancy, an easier way to peel the skin off the onion is, instead of cutting one tiny piece of the skin and trying to get it off, cut a long slit down the entire side of the skin and it'll peel right off in two or three tears. :)

  • @ROSESAPPHIREx Good idea. Thanks.

  • This is so cute! I loved watching it (and getting some ideas). Make more videos for us!

  • Will you be my Grandma???

  • esta senora todo tienee

  • @MrPapairrin Yes, I do, I am very blessed. I can't believe how fortunate I am to have been born into this place and to have such a standard of living.

  • I clean homes just holla at us..and will b there..free of charge..

  • Counter..hoarder..lol

  • @diazbenmichelle and loving it!

  • Nancy, that's such an awesome idea to use the spices in the box. I have a ton of those and had no use for them! Now I do :) Looks so so nommie nom!!! Denver says hi! We will get a lot more vids up too! Bless you and have a wonderful week!

  • @JessicaPersonalChef Thanks Jessica!

  • what happened? I wanted to see the end results. Did it burn???

  • @FWealthandHealth It was wonderful! I forgot to show what it looked like. When it was done we just ate it up!

  • lol wow you really shouldnt cut on top of the crock pot .....clear off some counter space.

  • I love your crockpot, mines is just a plain 7quart silver and black, i love yours im gonna rebuy me a new one...cos the cover handle is cracked. oh and that shan brand stew mix is a pakistanie or India seasoning for stew, we have that here at our local India store, too spicy for me, but I still love my India and middle east foods!!!

  • I love your crockpot, mines is just a plain 7quart silver and black, i love yours im gonna rebuy me a new one...cos the cover handle is cracked.

  • I super super love my crock pot rival is the best, i always make my ox tail stews or beef stews love how you cook nancy, hugs marty

  • love your cooking Nancy....more crockpot recipes please and good thing to learn about the tomatoes....never knew that and here I have arthritis....anything I can sub for my love of them?

  • That chopping board, like the rest of your kitchen, is a health hazard. What is the point of washing the onion, then chopping it on a dirty board with a dirty blunt knife? Can't you find anywhere to put the chopping board securely? Kitchen too messy?

What is the 'meat' (don't you know?) and why don't you brown it?

You add 'some sort of pesto. Maybe thyme' If you don't know what you are putting in the dish, what chance does anyone else have?

    Sloppy, messy cooking.

  • I like the crockpot but i m straying from it lately. i heard that if you use cast iron cookware it's much better for your health because of the iron in it and it's alot safer.

  • @glorify100 I don't know. Interesting.

  • Er, if we can't see the result at the end, what's the point?

  • @Annikichan To inspire you to go chop up veggies into the crockpot!

  • Nancy you should have a TV show here in the UK / we would all love you here...........

  • @1001942 LOL. But I do! See, you saw me! This way there is no pressure!

  • Hello Nancy, how are you? I miss your cooking videos. I wish I have a friend or aunt like you near me. Take care always.

  • @lateperiods What a nice thing to say! Come and visit!

  • Nancy, you're a sweetheart. What kind of meat did you use for this stew?

  • @millius333 I don't remember. It doesn't matter though, any meat, any veggies, any sauce and you have a stew.

  • Nancy's looks like a good place to cook up dysentery. What a pig stye.

  • @desertboy2 Now isn't that interesting. No one here has ever gotten sick from my cooking. Despite what 'they' say! We rarely get sick at all! How about you?

  • @desertboy2 LOL

  • What a mess....the preparation is dirty, we are not told what type of meat it is, and the kitchen looks like a dump....doesn't inspire me at all. Sorry!

  • @questing200 Aww, are you actually saying that it's my job to inspire you? Are you saying there are RULEs about how I am to make a video? Perhaps you'll agree that you shouldn't watch any more of my videos. Waste of time for both of us!

  • Nancy, i love the way you chop your veggies! i do that all the time since seing you do it. lol. i just bought a crock pot last year and it's wonderful to have.... i make whatever i want in it before bedtime n it's done the next morning, usually late morning.

  • @glorify100 I am trying to use mine more often because I am usually too tired by the end of the day to start cooking.

  • I had one of those crockpots with the missing dial for years until I eventually broke down & bought me a new crockput. I got me one of the larger ones. However I picked up anothet small one at a garage sale one day so that I could still cook beans or another veggie when cooking a meat in the other larger one. But most of the time I just use the one larger one & cook everything together. They sure come in handy when you work long days. You can come home to a hot homecooked meal ready! =)

  • @1970sarteaga That's what I want! a nice hot meal when I'm too tired to cook!

  • Hi Nanc I wanted to see your finished dinner but there are over 6,000 video's cool. I will have to bookmark you and come back. Very entertaining, interesting and relaxing at the same time to watch you =) Thank you

  • @lenandmercy It's nice how you've been around for awhile now and comment often!

  • lol my dial on my crockpot is missing too! its an old one my mother in law gave me when my hubby & I 1st moved into together. Still works just fine.

  • @Rsemmel08 What's with those dials! I guess it is we who don't bother to glue them on when they fall off and they disappear...swallowed up in the great mississippi!

  • gosh your funny nancy. SOOO real too

  • @egypt4000 Sounds like me. Real Nancy!

  • your chili powder smelled glorious! tomatoes: arthritis pain! wowo i wanna see willems face when that aroma hits him! heheheh

  • @hell0hkitty I'm so glad to hear that New Zealand has 'smell-a-vision' now! People on this side of the pond are always wishing for it!

  • omg youre freaking me out with that slippery board and sharp knife YIKES

  • @hopefulone311 The worst that could happen is I'll cut myself and have to drive to the hospital for stitches. How much trouble is that, anyway?

  • What kind of onions are those? What are the big thick onions they use at Chinese American type fast food places?

My brother bought me a Crockpot for Christmas and I made my first thing today, Stew! It's so good and I am so proud of myself.

  • @LaurenJustinKisa Yippee! I guess in the 8 intervening months, you've probably made stuff dozens of times! I'm just a little late with my responses!

  • What!!! no potatoes?!! Just kidding Nancy :) Never heard of nettles as a food ingredient... I'll have to give it a try. Keep up the good work!!!

  • Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

  • Dried parsley is great....I think people forget about the greatness of dried parsley!! :-)

  • YES! I am a huge dried parsley fan as well. I grow my own.

  • @Wivanunu Nettles are so much more vitamin packed. I use them instead.

  • I never knew that nettles could be eaten. We collected them at a nature center where I worked, blanched them....and ate them with seasoning.

Are all nettles the burning variety?

  • I don't know about the varieties, only that the ones I have are stinging nettles. What part of the planet are you on?

  • I'm from the Minnesota part of the planet

    :-)

  • Thanks I just got a crock pot from the thrift store today and was afraid i'd mess it up somehow but your light spirit and confidence cured my fears.

  • Have you been using it now? Meat, veggies, liquid, spices.

  • Haha I was sitting down to eat oatmeal out of it right now when I received your reply... I contributed a YouTube crockpot video too - in tribute to you! Search for my recipe 'beanoa'. Thanks for the reply! Love sal

  • you are the best... i ever seen ..

  • Bravo!! Another great job cooking!!

  • love your thinking and your videos. i dont understand why people are so rude. "i just do what i feel like and thats what i feel like" - HAHAH perfect!! great quote right there. yes, i did think you should put some water in :) MMMMmmmMM nettle. my husband and i just bought some belgium nettle/cheddar cheese. YUM!!

    your stew looks so yum!

  • very nice i loved they way you did you cooking very nice if you dident get what she was doing then you must be very silly i love the attied also you dont like it move on silly ass ! an as for the otherppl that had nothing good to say find an other vidoe you need to stop be so rude!

  • One your next video , please dont have an outside door or windows which clearly plays havoc with your light balance one minute we can see, next its night-time, also it would be best if you prepare your vegetables and offer suggestions to quantities. I dont know who told you that tomatoes give arthritic pains; its not true. Homemade barley water helps those suffering from arthritic pains; also helps your kidneys, as you can never drink too much of barley water.

  • Well, she seems like a nice person; albeit eccentric who really cooks in a gardening hat? However, please dont make claims that we are not watching like children when you cannot focus the camera on what we should be seeing! Pesto is a stew!!!

  • Aren't you afraid of losing balance with the cutting board on top of the crock pot?

  • Hi Nancy ! I want to say how much my 2 adult daughters and I love to watch you ! You are such a breath of fresh air ! We can't wait to see what you do next ! You are a true free spirit and and yu make us laugh ! YOU GO GIRL !!!

  • You kill me!!! LOL. Outside of stuffing the pot with whatever I have I still haven't a clue what to do. "Add some meat"...what kind? "Add some nettle"...isn't that stuff called "poison" nettle? Taco Bell here I come, (fast food is so less stressful). Details aren't a sin dear!

  • Well, if you're not dead...lol.

any kind of meat will do. any kind of veggies will do. salt and pepper plus any of your favorite spices, ie, onions, garlic, parsley, cumin, corriander, hot pepper...

the beauty of crock pot cooking is that you just put in whatever you like, let it cook together and eat it up.

  • dear frankinbolton-sweetie use your noodle,no pun intended-use chuck, roast beef or the roadkill on rt 66 -think outside the box-lol I like nancy's style including her minnie pearl hat minus the price tag.

nice job nancy! I like her style shows the mold and all-rachel ray dosn't do that- looks like a delicious healthy meal to me!

  • lol you rock ...lol i love your humor. just think i would not want to clean up after you ...lol but you do make the day better.

  • I don't think I want to clean up after me, either!

  • Where the heck is the finished product ?

  • Now there's the million dollar question! You see, since this isn't a cooking show, you may never get to see that, unless in some other video I happen to mention and show it as I'm doing something else! Think of it as reading a book...if you miss a chapter, you may not know what's going on anymore! Lol. Sorry.

  • Hi Nancy! I always enjoy watching you cook! You help inspire me. I have two crock pots. I need to get busy like you!

  • Nancy, you're crazy, but fun to watch.

  • What is a Nettle? This looks like it would be delicious:) I love your videos and have learned a lot from them. Sure helps out taking care of my Hubby and two year old :)

    Take Care!!

  • I made dinner last night I think I will cook again tonight I made chicken with different seasonings on them it was so yummy.I am very proud of my self I havent cooked in log log time.

  • ive always used veggies at the last min.

  • very entertaining and useful video :)

  • Thanks, I'm glad it is useful to you.

  • oh, okay, I think I know what you mean. They are not in Fl. but I think they are in Ct. Sandy

  • Good.

  • Nancy. I love spinach. Where does one get "nettles" (sp??) sandy

  • I don't know the range of nettles, but around here they are a pesky prickly weed that hurts terribly. They grow in waste places, around barns and such. So I get all I want! No competition there! Of course, they don't prickle you after they've wilted!

  • How do you dry the nettles? and how do you get the nasty prickles off them? so they dont hurt your mouth?

  • I hang them upside down from the ceiling pot rack. The prickles are like stiff hair that wilts and is no longer prickly.

  • Oh thanks for that bec I always wondered about those prickles. I was too scared to eat them before. Bec I wasn't sure whether it was a different species. You know ... there is stinging nettle and then there is the plain nettle. I wasn't sure if there was a difference.

  • they are stinging nettles

  • When I come to visit Nancy I would like that for supper please! Yummy! That was fun. I would like to hear more about your spice blends that you use and mix yourself.

  • Okay, I'll have to make it over the fire for you this coming summer!

  • Yummy, I Love Stew!! Thanks For Sharing!! I really enjoy your Videos!!

  • you're welcome. thanks
