As he represents the "change coming". The fact "he" is doing what "he" is doing is but further proof that the matrix will crumble.
At this point the dialogue is not about the movie, it is about real life. The eventuality of an anomaly = the climax of history. In this age we live in, free choice has perhaps begun to go too far against "gods plan" (which is gods plan in the first place ironically). It will collapse on itself and the world will need to be remade = NWO, Mayan prophecy, Earth transitioning into a higher dimension, the rapture etc. etc. Put into the context of real life, this makes perfect sense. There, however, would be no point, because the architect is not a power source, he just designs what is best for the machines (and at first, for in his perception humans too). There wouldn't be much to gain from it and it would severely antagonize humankind, attacking something that's clearly not a threat to Neo and actually surprisingly reasonable. Neo prefers peace over total war and I actually think the Architect does as well, in his own way.

However, just like the architect said, he remains a human, ergo outside the matrix his powers are reduced to the point of barely controlling basic machine function.

I find the fact that Neo can override the machines in the 'real world' quite a compelling sign that it is in fact, not simply the 'real' world. The Trainstation where Neo ends up in 3 also seems to suggest this imo. Either way we can't be sure, but it makes what Neo can and can't do quite unclear as I see it.

If Neo is the sixth one he's expected to do what the Ones before him did: reinsert the One code and reboot the Matrix and Zion, to save Zion and humankind. If the Architect is already expecting Neo to do what the other five would not and he knows THAT decision is based on the flaw of humanity, then that would imply Neo's five predecessors did NOT have that flaw, which isn't true...

@LIVe8891030 when neo destroyed smith he encrypted part of himself onto smith. the machines were going to delete him which he would have let them because programmes have no free will but his hatred for neo forced him to stay meaning he became a computer virus eventually he had copied himself onto everything and everyone in the matrix except neo making him so powerful but his downfall was that even though his was a renagade programme he could not understand that humans always have a choice.

Some side notes regarding The Architect: his wall of video monitors actually appears briefly in the first movie! Immediately after Neo is apprehended at MetaCorTechs, and before he is interrogated by Agent Smith, the camera slowly zooms in on several video monitors showing Neo sitting in the interrogation room. The Architect was watching Neo even before he was awakened by Morpheus and his crew.

@r3kr No; what happens is that the Matrix is designed to give humans a choice on whether to accept the matrix or not. Those who do not accept become a loose cannon. The machines set up Zion (which is def in the real world) as a 'focal point' for those humans who reject the Matrix to assemble. Whenever Zion starts getting big enough to seriously threaten the Matrix, the machines swoop in, destroy it, and then set-up a new Zion somewhere else and the cycle begins again.
@omegastar19 In other words: the machines designed the Matrix to have a flaw on purpose, because a 'perfect' Matrix did not work and they couldnt find any other solution. The flaw is that some humans reject the Matrix. However, the machines are well aware of this flaw, and therefore have built up a system to control this flaw. That system is Zion; they let all humans who reject the matrix go to Zion, then when Zion gets too big, they destroy it and create a new Zion.

@LIVe8891030 when neo destroyed smith he encrypted part of himself onto smith. the machines were going to delete him which he would have let them because programmes have no free will but his hatred for neo forced him to stay meaning he became a computer virus eventually he had copied himself onto everything and everyone in the matrix except neo making him so powerful but his downfall was that even though his was a renagade programme he could not understand that humans always have a choice.

Immediately after Neo is apprehended at MetaCorTechs, and before he is interrogated by Agent Smith, the camera slowly zooms in on several video monitors showing Neo sitting in the interrogation room. @r3kr No; what happens is that the Matrix is designed to give humans a choice on whether to accept the matrix or not. Those who do not accept become a loose cannon. The machines set up Zion (which is def in the real world) as a 'focal point' for those humans who reject the Matrix to assemble. Whenever Zion starts getting big enough to seriously threaten the Matrix, the machines swoop in, destroy it, and then set-up a new Zion somewhere else and the cycle begins again.

The flaw is that some humans reject the Matrix. However, the machines are well aware of this flaw, and therefore have built up a system to control this flaw. That system is Zion; they let all humans who reject the matrix go to Zion, then when Zion gets too big, they destroy it and create a new Zion.
