  • I remember it well. Kent Walton presenting the PYE record show on Luxembourg!

    Thanks for this Basil.

  • @vangelovan Pleased to help bring the memories back.

  • to similar to counting teardrops to be a hit, but i like it.

  • What a pitty: I have to search your great channel again ;-) New to my ears - thanks!

  • Pleased to supply the new one.

  • This is real music !

  • Hi, I was a great fan of Emile Ford and managed to see him live with the Checkmates (one of which was his younger brother from memory) at the Glasgow Empire and later at the Olympia in East Kilbride where I actually shook hands with him back in 1960/61. My faqvourite track of his was Countin' Teardrops. He wore some amazing shirts and put on a very colourful show. I've never managed to find any video footage of him and that's disappointing for a fan. Thanks for listing him. Mario (Reggiepetto)

  • A real entrepreneur. Began with guitar, bass and drums and ended up with an 11 man orchestra. Thanks for this.

  • In 1963 Emile Ford moved to Sweden and lived there until '72. He toured a lot and had some hits on the national charts.

  • I know he was often in disagreement with his production team over records. My sleeve notes say he had 'phenomenal success' in Sweden. Half of his Checkmates linked up with Jimmy Justice, the other two carried on as the Checkmates.

  • Billy Adamson one of his drummers in Sweden went on to play with The Searchers for 29 years.

  • @g1h2nedlaw Interesting fact.
