The sort of twats who go on about what is & what isn't punk today are the sort of cunts who would have been arguing about the fucking Eagles Hotel California & prog rock in 1977. Steve Jones wasn't a punk, more a yob or boot boy, the British predecessor of punk. Punks were mostly middle class wankers, it was Jones yobbish foul mouthed behaviour on The Today programme that kicked off the punk storm in Britain in 1976 not some punk masterplan. This is a great song not some pretentious shit.

To be fair, Johnny had already quit the band and Sid was either too incapacitated by heroin, in jail for killing Spundgen or dead. So yeah, half the band isn't there. But Malcolm Mc Claren thought he could keep it going without them. He was wrong.

I sat through their rehearsal at 4 pm and I still have their authographed LP. Steve was drunk or stoned out of his mind but you couldn't tell it by the way he played. It was awsome!
